  1. ....and Billy Stark is apparently the man in the frame to takeover, mainly because of his work with the Scotland U-21's. Being able to turn the best young players in the country into a well drilled outfit, is a far cry from the job we're looking for him to do. Plus, he's yet another ex-Don player to be fed to dogs. Great.
  2. McGhee is obviously a bit emotional, but it was a much better interview than the tosh he came out with last Saturday. What he was saying does rather reinforce the following point. Given the injuries, given the size of his playing staff, and given the total absence of resources to change it, what can you possibly expect from any would-be new manager?
  3. So surely that's tatties for McGhee. Which poor fucker will we pass the poisoned chalice to next?

Stephen Hawking went out on a date, and was later found with a grazed knees, bruises and a sprained ankle. Rumour has it he was stood up.
  5. With Ilian Kiriakov as fitness coach.
  6. I agree 100% I don't want rid of him for a second. As far as the development of the team goes, I think it's utterly nonsensical to get rid just now....I'm just voicing my opinion of how things will probably unfold. Financially speaking, the board will be very aware of plummetting crowds, and may conclude that attendances continuing to fall is a bigger price to pay than getting rid of the manager. As I said earlier, many fans will never forgive MM for getting beat 9-0.....if binning him gives us a chance of bring those fans back throught the turnstiles again, I can see why the board might be tempted.
  7. I didn't think we had the money to sack JC either. Believe me, if we have two more bad results this week, he's gone. That's the way football usually works.
  8. Who will replace him if he gets sacked, and more to the point, who the fuck would want the job? We're talking about MM being binned before he's even had a full season under his belt.....9-0 or not, that is absolutely ludicrous short-termism! Was it Ebbe's first season when we took about 8 games to score a goal, yet he kept his job and turned a corner, despite humping after humping from the OF, and just about everyone else in the division? How is MM's record any worse, especially when you consider that Ebbe had riches to spend that MM could only dream of? He's already stated that he can't buy any players in January, and with most of our long term players coming to the end of their contracts, we've got virtually no sellable assets. He's undoubtedly having a shit season, but the constraints he is working under are both severe, and many. Nobody else will be able to do any better with this squad......but as Dons fans, we're not allowed to think like that. We just go on our merry way, sacking manager after manager, making the same tired excuses every fucking season. Perhaps, just perhaps, the reason that JC's record stands up reasonably well is because he was given longer at the job than most of his predecessors. Sack MM, and IMO you consign us to the fucking dark ages for another season or two at least. And whatever people's reservations are re. Stewart Milne (and I have many), the fact is that nobody is chapping at the door to takeover, and despite not bankrolling big signings, he is underwriting about 6 million of debt. Whatever his ultimate motives are for the club, if he walks then we're utterly fucked, so don't even think it. Sorry, that was a rant.
  9. Aye. The odd thing is that we're definitely a better side going forward than we were last season. We've got a striker, arguably two, who know the way to goal, and a couple of decent midfielders. The problem is at the back, and it's a huge problem. The thing that fucks me off most is that McGhee is probably going to get binned because of this. It doesn't necessarily fuck me off because he doesn't deserve it.......we're 2 points off bottom, and we've just had the worst result in our history, and many will never forgive him for that. The main reason it fucks me off, and I said this before he was appointed manager, is that Mark McGhee is a club legend - a very exclusive club - and I find nothing worse than the crushing inevitability of seeing a club legend getting torn apart by their own fans. It happened to Willie Miller, it's going to happen to McGhee, and I think it's shit. Don't make club legends manage your club. It's just sentiment, and eventually it always goes pear-shaped.
  10. "It's only 3 points" was a particular low point. I usually like Mark McGhee's post-match chat, but that was just a shite interview. He didn't even come across like he was hurting. Poor.
  11. Can't wait for MM's post-match interview....
  12. If anything, the ref should be getting plaudits for actually changing his mind and getting the decision right. I find it ironic that most managers are calling for video evidence, which will result in exactly the kind of situation that happened at Tannadice. ie. decisions being overturned. It's just total, utter fucking nonsense. And now we've got OF players, in an act of toe-curling hypocrisy, effectively 'waving an imaginary red card' at referees by calling for them to be sacked for lying. I suppose, by analogy, that those OF fuckers are being absolute paragons of virtue when they fall over in the box like they've been snipered. Cunts.
  13. Karel, Just spoke to Mac, our old sound guy. He's available on the 18th.....100 and he's yours. We can just use SFH's monitors, and any other bits and pieces that we need. Are you using the house PA? Cheers Neil
  14. So it was originally sold with probably 500+ worth of cymbals for 350....and now it's on sale without for the same price? Not a very good deal....is it?
  15. Hartllllleeeeyyyyy! Ya fuckin beauty!
  16. Fucking Aberdeen. Fucking, fucking Aberdeen.
  17. (Bump). Still looking folks. I think I'm pretty much decided that I want to do some form of hard rock, or possibly metal, band.....covers or originals. In an ideal world, where tribute bands were cool, I'd love to do a Pantera tribute....but they're not cool, so I probably won't (unless someone makes me an offer....obviously ). Anyway, to give an idea of rock/metal influences: Metallica, Maiden, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pantera, Slipknot, Meshuggah, Slayer, Perfect Circle, Sepultura, Nirvana, QOTSA, Soundgarden among many others. If this sounds vaguely interesting to anyone....let me know.
  18. Ian Holloway is the verbal Chuck Norris. Get him involved in the Middle East peace process....job done in minutes.
  19. Known around Old Trafford as the Stretford (Bell) End.
  20. The Queen asked me if she could watch me putt on the 5th green at Balmoral golf course while she was out horse-riding about 20 years ago. Dunno if that technically counts as meeting her, but I had to say "Thankyou Your Majesty" and bow and shit. Other than that, I met former AFC overhead-kick specialist Rachid Belabed in O'Henrys ages ago. He could hardly speak English. So, yeah...the Queen and Rachid Belabed. Hmmmm.

    Boxing.

I'll admit that he looks much improved of late, but his chin certainly looked like an issue against Breidis Prescott

I think it's pretty disgusting that Fraudley Harrison has even been given the Haye fight. He's done fuck all his entire pro career to warrant it. I hope Haye destroys him. Overall, the HW division is pretty weak...full of fat, ponderous slobs. Only Haye and the Klitschkos are worth watching, and Wladimir is only average at best. Another Brit, Dereck Chisora is fighting Wladimir pretty soon....could be interesting. Wlad is chinny, so I reckon Chisora's got a decent chance. Vitali Klitschko is the best around at the moment.....Haye hasn't beaten anyone good enough in the HW division yet to suggest otherwise. Vitali is massive, hits hard, and has never been put down in his whole career. In his only loss, he was arguably giving Lennox Lewis a beating before losing on cuts, so he's decent. Personally, I doubt Haye's chin is good enough to last last 6 rounds with him...I don't think Haye can stop him, and Haye has never had the stamina for the later rounds anyway. So far, Haye's only notable HW win was against Nikolai Valuev (that 7' tall Russian mutant) but he's absolute rubbish. Haye is a talented cruiserweight, but has a long way to go before I'm convinced that he's a world class HW. Actually, fuck the heavyweights.....I want to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather.
  23. The general standard of midfield/forward play is way better than anything we saw last season. Hartley and Vernon have made significant improvements.....Maguire is twice the player he was last year, and given an injury-free run, Aluko, Pawlett and Velicka will all make a real difference. I actually reckon MM is right to be optimistic, although he's perhaps overplaying it by saying that "our season hasn't started yet". The biggest differentiator this season is that we've been all over the place defensively. Diamond in particular has been a joke....and I genuinely hope he gets binned as soon as his contract ends. He really hasn't shown any real improvement after several years of first team action. He's still raw, clumsy, impetuous and prone to making dreadful decisions. I don't care a fuck that he's brave. He costs us far more goals than he saves us. Bottom line. We've also had loads of injury problems. Any "fan" would be well advised to look at the size and disposition of the squad MM has to work with, and the budget available to him to make any changes, before pointlessly demanding yet another manager's head. I seriously wonder if these stupid fucks actually exist for any other reason than to campaign for managers to be sacked.
