  1. An Ibanez SZ QM520 Amber Burst Finish (Upgrade the Pick-Ups and it's as good as any overpriced 3000 guitar!) These are awesome! I bought one and found out afterwards that my Guitar idol Marty Friedman uses em! Score!
  2. Um isn't that a bit of a sweeping statement saying you hate 80s singing? There were hundreds of bands around in the 80s and hundreds of different vocal styles. But I'm assuming you're referring to the sort of vocals heard on 80s power ballads? I'm gonna go out an a limb here... I like it! Yeah it's cheesy, but it's great sing along material Andy
  3. Just in general. But yeah Tuesday Night Music Club is awesome
  4. I've been listening to these two recently, who do you prefer? Personally I'd go for Sheryl Crow, but Alanis Morrisette still rocks! Andy My Vote: Sheryl (if I get many / any replies I'll keep a count and post who's winning)
  5. This is class, I just got some shits and giggles from this site: Paisley Tapes Boxing, The Internet and Guest House are particularly good Andy
  6. Poison.... can't help it! They are so damn cheesy, but they rock!
  7. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny Of Souls (Brilliant, Bruce has outdone himself again) HammerFall - Chapter V (Decent, but a bit samey. Could have been better) So far... and am eagerly awaiting Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part III , as Helloween are probably my favourite metal band, and in my top 3 all-time favourite bands!
  8. Funny you should bring this up! I found 3 old thunder cats videos at a car-boot sale the other month! 50p each, bargain!!!! Thunder Cats was awesome! Cartoons just ain't the same today.... (with the exception of a few Toonami ones and Sponge Bob!!!!) Heh, I'll never be too old for cartoons!
  9. Helloween - The Dark Ride vs. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls Are the two albums I've been listening to most this month. That what you mean?
  10. I didn't say Guitar solos, I said solos, meaning all instruments. And I don't count playing the vocal melody on Guitar as a solo On that note I'll add: Michael Monroe (Saxaphone) / A Day Late, A Dollar Short (Hanoi Rocks)
  11. What is your favourite soloist / solo by that artist? Mine would be: Marty Friedman (Guitarist) / Tornado of Souls (Megadeth) (I like a LOT of other artists so it's hard for me to pick, but for just now anyway, that one!)
  12. well I saw it today. I think it was good, but not as good as I expected. I enjoyed the build up to him actually becoming Batman. Despite what was said, I actually liked Liam Neeson's part in the film. I just kind of felt that after his becoming Batman, the film kind of went into "standard super hero movie" mode. But in saying that it was still enjoyable, but I have to say I prefer the Michael Keaton ones. Andy
  13. fun, smart, friendly, talented, genuine, approachable, kind, generous, good looking are what I'd like people to see me as, whether I am or not is debatable, but I can pretend Andy
  14. Got my last one today. That leaves me with: Biology - 16 Ecology - 15 Psychology - 11 Bit disappointed about Psychology, but only have myself to blame. Overall, chuffed that I have no resits
  15. I've been contemplating whether to go or not, but I think you've sold me! I'll post my comments after I've been. Andy
  16. Personally I think you need a balance between the two. I agree that recording music offline offers a far wider scope of possibilities, but I still don't see why you shouldn't play live. Music started off as a live experience, and you could argue that we've moved on since then, but I definately think a good live performance will captivate a listener more-so than the best of recordings. Some of my own song ideas can quite easily be re-created in a live environment, but others with a greater range of textures, will be better suited to a studio recording only (unless the basic idea can be produced live, minus the finer details). I think you need to the right balance between artistic endeavour and self endulgence. To me, music is as much about having a laugh as being intelligent and creative. Andy
  17. Mainly Hard Rock and Rock N' Roll, but I think we're open to expanding the sound a little and exploring beyond the standard sound. But for now think along the lines of: Guns N' Roses / Velvet Revolver / The Cult / The Wildhearts Andy
  18. hey man! we are currently looking for a singer to complete a 5 piece line up! We all ready have 2 Guitars, Bass and Drums. We'll be playing Hard Rock / Metal to Rock N' Roll! And we definately want a good powerful melodic vocalist, none of that screaming / growling nonsense. If you're interested, PM or 07906319557 Andy, Grant, Jerry & Mouka
  19. 1) it's shit loads of fun to play live, and you get a great buzz from doing it (or at least I do) 2) the atmosphere at a live gig is like nothing else! 3) it's a good way to promote your recordings
  20. Hey guys, we currently a have a four piece Rock band (2 guitar / bass / drums) and are looking for a singer to complete the lineup. We'll be playing mainly original material but the occasional cover. Basically we're not looking for the full-on Axl Rose or Ozzy Osbourne, just someone with a half decent voice who can stay in tune. Cheers: Andy, Grant, Jerry, Mouka
  21. I don't have mine yet, and I don't want em! Ignorance is bliss
