  1. Hmm had a little look just now. Think that Rock_Princess (Megadeth rock! Marty is my idol!) & doofus are fit. Rainbow Princess - "I'm an unpretty funny munchkin" Don't be so hard on yourself, I think you're cute.
  2. This man has the idea. Age should never be a barrier when it comes to something you love doing. The day you lose your enthusiasm, and it loses its fun, is the day you pack it in. Until then
  3. Ok cool guys. If you know any parties who may be interested, point em this way would you? Cheers, Andy
  4. I know this is going to be a long shot, but I don't suppose any of you fine people would be interested in a Celtic Rock band? I've been listening to Peatbog Faeries & Wolfstone recently abd would love to maybe start a small side project. I'd be on acoustic / electric guitar. Any takers for fiddle, bass, pipes, keys or drums? I'm not expecting many replies, but I guess it's worth a try. ~Andy
  5. Really? I was the other way round. It took a little time for "Chemical Wedding" to grow on me, but I love it now. This one on the other hand, I loved it after the 1st listen! Of the 9 full tracks, I can say I loved 7 of them 1st time around! Only two tracks on the album didn't really grab me as much, the title track and one other, perhaps the one you mentioned (I don't count the intro as a track)? ~Andy *also on a side note, anyone have any of the re-masters with bonus material? I was thinking about getting accident of birth, but wondered if they have fixed the annoyance of tracks running into one another?*
  6. Hey has anyone else bought this? I just found out it had been released last week, and bought it the other day! It's fantastic, his best to date! I'm serious, Bruce and Roy have gone all out on this one! Bruce is undoubtedly at his peak, and even a collaberative effort with Maiden would be hard pushed to better this! Anyone else have it? Any thoughts? ~Andy
  7. might be interested in having a jam sometime. some of my riffs / ideas here: Demos / Riffs Listen to "riffs 1 & 4", "Beauty" and "Heavy Metal Vibe" for a good idea of what I'm about. ~Andy (07906319557)
  8. Hmm... Mechanix! Megadeth are almost always better than Metallica IMO. On topic: Bruce Dickinson - King In Crimson
  9. Haven't really been buying CD's of recent. Just 2 the past few months: HammerFall - Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken (decent, but not quite "Crimson Thunder") Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls (Fantastic! This one even tops Chemical Wedding IMO!)
  10. I don't know exactly what the original punk movement stood for (ask HummerOfIntenseEvil) but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't ridiculous baggy shorts, refusing to tidy your room / eat your vegetables or about going to the movies with your girlfriend. And Nirvana were certainly not a Punk band, they were the ones who took Grunge from the underground to the masses.
  11. Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen Love this song, it's hilarious
  12. Type of Music: Mellow, Acoustic Guitar stuff, Hard Rock, Melodic Metal, Cheese Rock, and maybe a little instrumentalisation. Basically want to do a mix of things, nothing set in one particular direction. Influences: ACDC, Aerosmith, Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Megadeth, GN'R, L.A. Guns, Poison, Motley Crue, WASP, Hanoi Rocks, Alice Cooper, Faster Pussycat, Skid Row, Slash's snakepit, Velvet Revolver, The Cult, Buckcherry, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Dire Straights, Brides of Destruction, Masterplan, Ugly Kid Joe, Marty Friedman, Stone Temple Pilots, Loaded, Oasis, Buckethead, Alanis Morrisette, Buddy Holly, Bowling for Soup, Greenday, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Dio, Pink Floyd, The Darkness, ASAP, NightWish, JS Bach, Handel, The Beach Boys, Tonci Huiljic, Rolling Stones, Joe Satriani, R.E.M, Mozart, Hans Zimmer, Jason Becker, Raphsody, Rachmaninov, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Paul Mounsey, WolfStone, Duncan Chisholm, Peatbog Faeries, Sheryl Crowe, Barry Whyte, Black Atom (local band), HIM, Enya, Eva Cassidy, The Monkees Hope that clear it up for you, Andy P.S. And I'm open to ideas, if you have any particular ideas then I'd be glad to hear them.
  13. I can't believe no-one has mentioned Steve Harris yet? Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) Markus Grosskopf (Helloween) David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth)
  14. Hey guys, I just quickly recorded some Riffs that've been kicking around in my head a little while. Anyone want to take a quick listen and whack out some constructive criticism? Bear in mind there is only one guitar and they are just Riff ideas, they are not mean to be complete songs. Riffs 1-4 Thanks, Andy
  15. That's not what I mean. You've missed the point I was trying to make. If punk guitarists are only intent on slapping out 3 power chords, then why bother wasting all that time learning all those scales / chords etc?
  16. Good call, also how did punk get from leather, daft hair cuts, safety pins as jewellery and rebellion to daft twats in stupid baggy shorts and caps bitching about their girlfriend dumping them or stealing their milkshake or something??
  17. But you don't necessarily have to create wank music.... you could, I don't know.... Be Creative! Some nice riffs, some thought out lead counter melodies & chord structures, or you could just pick 3 power chords.......
  18. most guitarists who get as far as a record deal can usually play quite a bit, they just choose not too most of the time... This has always confused me a little actually, why bother learning all those interesting chords, scales, techniques, if all you're going to use is palm-muting and 3 chords??
