  1. nah, the boys are paying u a visit if you're wrong, andrew!
  2. sweet sweet bro, will do!! darren
  3. haha.. he's probably crying cos he wanted to be in audioslave
  4. totally!!! I'm wanting to bring grunge back to Aberdeen!! Thing is, a majority of people like grunge, only there's not any bands I can think of who are performing like these dudes of the era did... Just think it *could* be a good decision.... Need band members though.... Then we can track down Chad Kroeger and friends and beat them with their dumb lyrics... Lyrics being a metaphor for a hammer.
  5. hey dudes/dudettes... am new to this and am hoping to start a new band in aberdeen... Am looking for a grunge-style of band, reminicent of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana etc.. Is anyone interested? If you are it'd be rad to hear from you!!.. You can reply in here or PM me.. I play guitar and vocalsm but am lookin ideally for a rythem guitarist, lead, bass and drummer.... many thanks everyone!!!
  6. absolutely fucking brilliant to say the least!!! His voice is awesome on it and there are few 'album fillers'.. the only criticism I can have about it is the cheesiness of the L.U.V song.. perhaps he should have done a foo fighters-esque double cd of one cd acoustic and the other good ol' rock n roll.. He should definitely stick to acoustic though. Gold was good, if not slightly overrated and Rock N' Roll goes by the same standards.. Ryan Adams is all about havin a Jack Daniels whilst slowly dragging on a Marlboro... Keep the dream alive!
  7. hmm.. nah man, i reckon it is a pretty good album. It may not have the 'anthems' of sugar, toxicity, aerials and chop suey! but even still, is not a bad album. I will be interested to see what they do with part two of their 2 album concept, out in the autumn...
  8. saw ...trail of dead support the foo fighters back in 2001/2 in Edinburgh.. pretty good from what i can remember
  9. what does everyone think of the new System and Audioslave albums?? Have just downloaded them and both are pretty damn good! Mesmerize marks a slight change from System since their last official release, Toxicity ('Steal This Album!' (~2003) wasn't an 'official' release) marks a change in pace for system.. They still have Tankian's "ooooowwwoooooo"'s and "aaaaaarrraaaaahhhh"'s but feature a slightly different sound. BYOB is as catchy as ever and Violent Pornography is - in my opinion - one of their finest songs ever.. Audioslave... A more chilled out release than their debut... Less Rage-style riffs from Morrello and not enough 'Down On The Upside' style vocals from Cornell, more reminecent of 1999's Morning Euphoria, but nonetheless a good album. Dandelion has to be one of the standout tracks on it.. A good effort.. Anyone else agree/disagree??
  10. kaiser chiefs are better than bloc party.... bloc party are more like "Come along if you want guys... I don't know.. Yeah, well.. It own't be the best in the world.. I'll probably just have a wee cry and write a new song.. SO this is love??" Party... I think this name was probably too big for them, so they shortened it to 'Bloc Party' instead.. 'Big Load Of Crap Party' (see wat I did there? Genius). anyways. new pearl jam album is to be out by the winter... r0k!!!!!!
  11. don't call the feds but... can't say I have bought music in ages. Last CD I bought was My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, cos it wouldn't download properly.. Have recently downloaded full albums of.... Audioslave - Out of Exile (not got the ooomph of the debut, but good none the less) Weezer - Make Believe (back on form.. Still not reaching the giddy heights of Blue Album or Pinkerton, but are getting there without a doubt. Some real gems) Ryan Adams - Cold Roses (as yet unlistened to) Chris Cornell - Morning Euphoria (almost all acoustic, solo album from '99.. awesome voice) The Early November - The Room's Too Cold/For All Of This (could be classified as 'emo' but fuck it, who cares.. not a band wee band) Finch - What Is To Burn (awesome) Fugazi (mate had been going on about them for ages and decided to check them out.. not a bad wee group at all!) Thursday - All albums (what a fuckin band!) *yawn* ok.. i'm bored of this.... thought i would contribute anyways.. darren
