In the 80's, Primal Scream were pure, unadulterated, Scottish Indie Popsters of the highest order.

Some oldies and newies for you to mull over. The Associates, Orange Juice, Josef K, Primal Scream, Belle and Sebastien, Camera Obscura, Ballboy, Boards of Canada, Mogwai, Desc............. Small country but a big sound.

Glad it's all been sorted out in my absence.

This old bugger saw them at the Tourhout festival in Belgium in 1989. If anyone's interested the lineup that day was, in no particular order, Texas, Tanita Tikaram (who got bottled off stage quite rightly), REM, Pixies, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson and Lou Reed. There may have been others but as I was so drunk I missed Lou Reed, you will forgive me if my memory is a little hazy. Bloody good day though.

About 8.50 each if my memory serves me. I'm going to the gig and have two spare.

I've two tickets for Arcade Fire at the Debating Chamber in Glasgow this Thursday night (5th) if anyone's interested.

Jason and the Scorchers rawked well hard and his solo stuff is great too. I'll be there with my cowboy hat on.

No vinyl I'm afraid but her debut CD "Peakahokahoo" is available on Truck Records. A new EP with her Country Roadshow band is due out soon too and she's currently recording a new album to boot. As is usual for Piney, she forgot to bring her merchandise on the night. Her other band The Schlalalas have also secured a record deal so expect something from them in the not to distant future. A sassy, talented and very busy lady. Weren't Motormark amazing last night too.

I've got two JEW tickets for Barrowlands on Sunday March 13th. Can't make the gig anymore so I'm selling them for face value.

Funeral will be out on Rough Trade here soon but if you can't wait (like I couldn't), get it from Merge Records in the States. It's worth every penny. There's something in the Canadian water at present. The country is awash with amazing bands.
