  3. Alcohol/cigarettes and either mellow music (devin townsend band type stuff) or if im angry then heaviest music i can find. Or going on a rampage/killing spree in GTA is fun.
  4. I believe we are playing with spike in the future, i hope to see you eating your shit......
  5. Dave, I'll burn a copy for you if you want one.... James, teach yourself...fuck tab books!
  6. I dont understand how someone cant distinguish different parts?!? its not THAT bad! We were going for a Lo-fi ish sound but I can still pick out all the instruments on it easliy, especially the bass, which is normally lost on metal recordings. The only problem for me is the drums.
  7. If its for live stuff check out the XT LIVE, i was gonna buy one because its so versatile and has ANY sound you could possibly need and you can use the distortion on your amp with it..... but im a sucker for simplicity so im just sticking with my amp/lead/guitar setup.
  8. Uni Vibe or Rotoshere or something? They are rotary speaker effects pedals....
  9. I think the pod is one of the best guitar tools for recording. You get an awesome range of sounds that really capture the general character of the amps they model, and you can get a great recorded sound, (it sounds absolutely HUGE) at low volumes and you dont have to mic up guitar amps. For performance and general playing I prefer using a regular amp, they seem to sound rawer and have more crunch and chunk than the POD (although the XT does have added 'rawness' compaired to the V2).
  10. Theres a noise gate on the me-50 at the top beside the compressor, try playing around with that, also it could be that you do have the noise gate set but what your hearing is the noise just before the gate closes.
  11. Yeah, they are really shit...BUT they're not signed and we're not signed so fuck it! They are from america so they might try to sue(SP???) us! hopefully they havn't copyrited their songs!
  12. My favourite High on Fire song has to be Hung, Drawn and Quartered!
  13. It took me a while to get into High on Fire, they sounded boring to me when i first heard them!
  14. SOILENT GREEEEEN!!!! Got the new album?
  15. EyeHateGod, Electric Wizard, High On Fire.
  16. ANAL CUNT nah.....Pig Destroyer, The Berzerker!
  17. Ditch the pedals, increase the mids and treble, less gain than you normally would dial up(volume will give the bottom end chunk that you need rather than gain) dont be too heavy with the bass, let the bassist handle some of this, you'll get a better sound as a band! The sound that you use on your own at low volumes will not work in a band, i always use completely different settings when im playing with drums and bass at volume.
  18. A lot is down to preference...I disagree with the SOAD(Toxicity!), NIRVANA(Bleach!) and Slipknot(S/T + VOL.3) suggestions The first one Thought of is Tool, but im not sure if I like Lateralus more than Aenima! Nile have improved from Album to Album....Metallica up to justice, then it got shit! Pantera up to Reinventing The Steel...Deftones, although I can understand why someone would prefer the energy on the first two albums. Qeens of the stone age, Meshuggah? I normally prefer band's earlier stuff, it has just become an assumption now for me checking out bands that the earlier stuff will be better!
  19. It's cancelled! due to maintenence work or something like that!
