  1. Interesting how that moron Dave McDonald really does not fit the stereotypical image of the NF, how media savvy...
  2. How about the queens cross drunkard? he always wears a bomber jacket and a gold chain or 2, has a tash, generally seen staggering up albyn place in the afternoon?? Or the group of hobos that meet with bags of special brew either on the bench next to Jimmy Chungs or the church's steps next to pizza express? The tanned guy with glasses and a big rucksack that lives in a shack in cults is a bloody legend, I saw him once go crazy at a woman in a bmw..
  3. Me (drummer) and a friend (guitarist) are looking to get some kind of fusion band going, most likely funk/rock. Looking for any bassists/organ players/fender rhodes players interested in having a jam. PS, both the guitarist and myself are 16 years old. Influences are Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa 60's fusion, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Headhunters. Thanks.
  4. Hola, I'm interested in some kind of fusion type thing, preferabbly funk/rock. What kind of stuff did you have in mind? Im a drummer btw (age16)
  5. God thats some of the filthiest guitar I've heard in quite some time
  6. Hola, I just heard "Portrait of Tracy" for the first time and decided I need to get some albums. I wondering if people on here have any albums to recommend? I was thinking of the first self titled one maybe...
  7. Just wondering which bassists on here prefer? Personally I prefer using my fingers, as I just dont like the sound of a pick on a bass.
  8. Well my only kit is my Tama and I love it to pieces, it sounds damn good too. I've played a sonor and i hate it, the hardware is really shoddy. Yamaha seem ok though.
  9. Yeh im just starting off at bass too ( 2 months ) , and im getting a GSR200 at the weekend,
  10. My favourite bassists are: John Entwistle Jack Bruce Cliff Burton Timmy C
  11. My favourites in no order really are : Jimi Hendrix Frank Zappa Dave Gilmour
  12. My favourites would be : John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Miles Davis - In A Silent Way Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Live at Olympia Herbie Hancock - Takin' Off Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage Cannonball Adderley - Live in San Francisco feat. Nat Adderley. Oh and hog, if you want some freaky jazz go for some of Miles Davis' 70s fusion stuff, insane but amazing. I recommend LiveEvil, Bitches Brew, On the Corner, Live at the Philarmonic Hall.
  13. I got Dissection, whoever they are....... Dissection You are Dissection! You really detest the idea of organized religion, and speak out against it in your music. Your music rules, but your character is questionable. Your core member was arrested and convicted of murder, which really hurt your reputation. When he gets out, your band shall return!
  14. Oh yeah I totally agree, Gorham and Robertson are totally underrated as guitarists as is Thin Lizzy on the whole. Half the time people are like "Thin who???" And yeah I must agree zeppelin do clinch it over Lizzy, but only just.
  15. Oh yeah I fucking hate guns n roses too, not as much as I hate Steve Vai or Eddie Van Halen, but I do hate them alot
  16. I wasnt invalidating everything they did musically, i was just saying in my opinion it was lizzy who started off harmonized rock, and i dont especially like wishbone ash either
  17. And who is Ritchie Blackmore, did he only play for Rainbow?
  18. Ive only heard smoke on the water and its pretty cool, so I cant make any comment on Deep Purple, good drummer though! Who are rainbow???
  19. Oh yeah you need to buy that if you have any liking of Thin Lizzy as it shows all the musicians to their full potentials. From what ive heard of iron maiden its fairly samey, and another thing, Lizzy started harmonised rock guitar, and maiden use that alot ive noticed, so without lizzy, no maiden ( although no iron maiden could be a nice thing ). Wishbone Ash are just too shite to count as a band in my opinion so i dont value them as starting of harmonized rock, it was Lizzy!!!!
  20. Im sorry, i take back by statement, 3 white geezers were pretty rockin, especially that bassist!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Oh yead I'd agree with that, Jailbreak is an amazing album, not quite as good as Live and Dangerous though.
  22. Just curious to see how people vote, as this is a huge dispute between many people right now, right : Who out of these 2 is the superior band? Thin Lizzy or Iron Maiden ( we all know thin lizzy are better!!!!! )
  23. Just to see if anyone was at the lemon tree on friday 12th of March as hells bells were so amazing. Im not so sure about 3 white geezers though :band:
  24. Jimi Hendrix - Lead Guitar Mitch Mithcell - Drums Phil Lynott - Vox and Bass or John Dolmayan - Drums Tom Morello and Kirk Hammett - Guitars Timmy C - Bass Zack De La Rocha - Vox
  25. Well my no1 has to be Jimi Hendrix as his influence is just immense, few of my other favourites are : Eric Clapton - Cream, Blind Faith John McLaughlin Tom Morello - RATM Kirk Hammett - Metallica Scott Gorham - Thin Lizzy Brian Robertson - Thin Lizzy Peter Green - Fleetwood Mac Oh and one more thing, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai SUCK!
