  1. Snood Rock! Interesting coincidence... I was just litesning to your live demo thing last night. Unfortunately, I'm poor and can't drive, so I won't be able to attend ......Please come back to Aberdeen. I missed the last Audio Dropouts (with the Kitchen Cynics Orchestra too) and I'm still kicking myself for it.
  2. I was told by a huge Spinal 'T'ap fan that Spinal 'P'ap weren't very good.
  3. Clubs definitely. Although Radiohead were amazing in the exhibition centre, the thought of Less Than Jake in Kef (as opposed to Music Hall where I saw them) would have been amazing.
  4. I thought it was 24 hours. I'm sure on occasion they have let me off though, although that has been more when I'm not cancelling, but moving it to the next day. Ah, booking @ Tom's. I've phoned up to book before and whoever it was knew my name jsut from my voice over the phone. They don't even know my name when htey see me in person... amazing, etc...
  5. I love Sigur Rs! I'm not very familiar with gtis Byrjun, but I have ( ) and I love it. If you don't dig the pretentious lack of titles, the band did give the songs personal names. For example, Untitled No.1 (amazing video/song) was named "Vaka" by the band.
  6. Bug & Friends are the coolest jazz group in Aberdeen. Catch them before Bug BUGgers off to Edinburgh (came up with that right now:))
  7. Current faves are "The String She Pulled" & "Instrument" by Turning 13 (I htink they played both last night to end their set with) or "It Grows" by Eric Euan (The one where Preemo sings lead vox in the chorus) ...*sings* Come and take a ride!!!...
  8. I htink you're right. We never found anything about it in the brochure.
  9. way to accept other people's opinions gentlemen... ...probable shouldn't have gotten involved though.
  10. Leo Kottke's music makes me feel happy to be alive As do Lambchop. As for a single song, maybe 'Falter' by Hundred Reasons. But I love my music so much, I'll probably have a hwole new list of music that makes me happy to be alive tomorow.
  11. Yeah, that dude Lach was really funny and entertaining. Great guy. I thought it was a great night and was only a bit disappointed that not so many people showed up (or stayed). Well done to Turning Thirteen, I think they deserved the win.
  12. You really wanna see Turning 13, Dedalus and AKA the Fox. Hmmm. That leaves jsut one you haven't mentioned :| Oh well, doors are 8pm Tickets are 5, cos as we all know, it's going towards "John's" teaching English in Sri Lanka.
  13. I spoke to John (The organiser/ He who is going to Sri Lanka) last night, and he informed me that a panel of judges (ie: guitar teachers) from Bruce Millers will be presiding over the event. This will ensure that The Void win on talent, and not because the gig is fixed ...Unless I'm wrong, and totally misinterpreted the conversation ?(
  14. Shit! That's my organisation skills for you, didn't realised I'd missed that BOTB heat 'til right now. Semis in July, huh? You may just be up against The mighty Void... Be afraid! Be mildly afraid!!! I believe we are on the 12th, so it's probably the same gig. It'll be like a synth-war, only without actually having THAT much synth... But still, everything in moderation.
  15. Wow, thanks for reviewing not jsut one, but all three of our MP3s Stripey. Nice reviews, too. Gingerbread Man was recorded @ Exile Studios. Plane Crash and The Void were recorded @ Captain Tom's. As for your track, I'll try and get thesultanofswing to review it, as he has broadband and I do not. But if he can't, I'll take the time to d/l it myself.
  16. Favourite bands: Eric Euan, Turning Thirteen, A.K.A. The Fox Having said that, I also really dig Pure Lead, The Deviadas, Femora, Apraxia. I really want to see The Real Shocks. Bug & Friends are amazing, but they don't play Morgans anymore, and Bug is moving to Edinburgh
  17. Already in my diary. 1am? That's pretty late to be starting a set. Oh well, I'll hopefully be there. The Real Shocks are on my list of 'local-bands-I-need-to-see-soon', so.
  18. Good post. I was just gonna call him a silly cunt, but this is a little more sarcastic, which is good.
  19. Bass and Drums are just as important as guitar. The only valid point against that, is that you can have someone like Leo Kottke play nothing but guitar, whereas, you couldn't have a guy playing bass for a whole set. You do get percussion bands though. There's no melody in them.
  20. I really want to see the Real Shocks (And the Kitchen Cynics Orchestra, but that's for another thread).
  21. Hm... From having Sigur Rs and Radiohead on your listening to: list, I was going to suggest Arctik as they share some common ground, although they've only just started gigging. However, I remembered that you are in Findo Gask and were at their first gig, and have therefore probably seen them already.
  22. I've seen Echomind once before, supporting the Izzys at Kef. I thought they were quite good, so I may come see them at the battle of the bands. I know how much it sucks for a band when Drummonds is looking a little too spacious.
