  1. People won't go and see bands.. in general, that they don't like, or are unsure of. I agree, that you won't discover a band unless you go out looking for one, but, particualrly in the case of heavier bands, it is harder for people to take that kind of chance, regardless of how much it is to attend... But that really is no mark on Ross, he is doing great work, and I, and most people on here, appreciate the work he is doing in bringing up a range of acts... Of course. But as jester put it, you ain't going to change a fact of life.
  2. This is awful news... it is understandable, its just very sad... CT played our first ever gig in there in October 2003... Always has been a great venue. Good luck to all those connected with the place, and whatever projects/ideas/ventrues you endeavour to!
  3. Well I aint complaining... Looking forward to it!
  4. Ian Hunter!! Rocking! Well I know where Im gonna be on the 19th of May!
  5. Bad bad move... There are better ways of handling that kind of situation...
  6. Wow I really must've missed something... you're back playing in Spike? I feel like I've been living on another planet! But that is a good thing... Of course! That Spike are on their way back... Not that I live on another planet...
  7. In fact a lot of the stuff will be designed and laid out... Its just we need a 'coder'
  8. We are looking for someone to design and code a decent website for ClearTone, seeing as we currently have very little HTML/Coding knowledge. Is there anybody who could help us out? Or anybody with some suggestions?
  9. Exactly what it says in the title.. CT are playing a set during the Wrecking Ball on the 21st January.. That would be this Friday folks, between 9pm and 10pm. So if anybody is free, or bored, or trying to avoid their boyfriend or girlfriend... You know where to find the Bar.
  10. Its an opinion again. personallyI thought the Hall of Fame performance was very good... But whatever. Brian May still sounds as good as he ever did... Which can't be said for all the guitarists in bands from that time...
  11. Scottish and Irish dates had to be postponed because of Mr Rodgers solo gigs... But they are coming I am told. We have just to be a little patient... Although, I think ill be going down to the London gig... SHould be a cracker!
  12. Aye I saw them headline Kef last eyar, very much enjoyed their set, and bought the EP. Definitely a decent band.
  13. And neither of them should have it... Hehe... So Im gonna stick with the King...
  14. Not really Dead_Fashion... And you have no need to be sorry GraemeC, you're voicing an opinion. I wasn't talking about this thread, this isn't hype, this is just a band looking for some comments/feedback on their own music. And good for them, its what I would do with recordings my bands makes. I was just menaing 'hype' in general... It can be relevant in all kinds of situations. But, if a band has got themselves in a position where people are buying tickets to see them on a regular basis, and people are wearing their T-Shirts, or travelling to see them play, or downloading their MP3's or whatever, then good for them... Cause you don't get much better promotion than that! That's not a bad thing... sure it might get a little annoying to some folk, but there's no harm in the band doing it. You are right, Im taking this far too seriously! hehe... *stops*
  15. If you don't pay attention to the news, and internet forums... then its a pretty easy mistake to make...
  16. I know exactly what you mean, and I did change my last post somewhat. Argh, nevermind, a benefit is a benefit.
  17. I wasn't saying that it had to be at a big venue with a big band... I was just saying that there is another side to this whole thing. Shouldn't we be aiming as high as possible? Not '500 can make a difference', but that '250,000 can make a difference'. Of course any amount will help... but that should just be a fall back... not the target. No offence, but anybody can put together a semi-well attended benefit gig at Moshulu... If you have some brains about you, you put in some promo, pick a good night, and have a decent line up... I don't mean that with any disrespect to moshulu, because I think it is a great venue... And I certainly would support any benefit taking place there, and I would put time and effort into doing whatever I could to help make it a succes, but I have spoken to a few people, who raised some quite valid points, about what the actual point/target/ambition was and should be for any committee or persons involved in organising this gig...that's all. Im not out to cause trouble or anything like that. Ive put time into organising events before, and I know what I mean, even if it maybe isnt quite as clear to everyone else... I just seem to have a slightly different slant on this whole benefit... but that's no crime. Rach is of course right, any money that is raised will of course would make a difference, and it would be something for us to feel proud of... It just depends what the target actually is.
  18. Sounds good to me! Looks like we may be playing on Friday 21st Jan at the Moorings... Although, that ain't confirmed as yet! Sorry to the Identity guys... for Hijacking your thread...
  19. Im just concerned at the amount of fundraisers that are being planned... Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too many, if the Belmont folk get the media involved first, then you won't get the same coverage in May, because of the events that would have already passed... My worry is that.... In order for any benefit to make that difference, it would need to be held at either the Music Hall, or at the AECC... with a top band, and would need to sell out. Anything less... really wouldn't give you much more than a load of well attended gigs on the 20th February on Belmont Street... Although these concerns are only relevant, if the focus is simply one gig in May. I would suggest the committee/group take a broader role on the Tsunami Aid Appeal... Than just be concentrating on one gig.
