  1. A jamesey hog moment... on my thread... I feel so honoured!!! Hehe...
  2. Will keep you posted gig wise... I think you are right about the name, looking forward to the next gig, whenever it is to be!
  3. Sorry that the recordings on just now are still the old CT ones, but we will be putting new recordings up soon. It was just easy to keep them up, as we intend on using those three to some extent in the future... I am slowly getting around to updating everything! Well it was... The old MNC saw Tav playing bass... but it slowly disbanded due to commitment and writing problems. Tav gave us permission to use the name, rather than have it just sitting around, which we are very grateful to him for. He shall remain a good friend of the band... (Tav, I owe you many a drink man! ) That's basically the story... Or something like that...
  4. Hehe... Not quite... Rory and I had a band with this name a few months ago, but has since disbanded... but they graciously let us use the name... We think it works for us... But its funny you should mention that... hehe... thats a whole other story!
  5. We have decided to change our name. Basically to get away from the pre-conception that we are an indie band... and for a fresh start in general really. Cleartone shall be known from this day forth as: The Midnight Noise Collective You can still get updates just now at: www.purevolume.com/themidnightnoisecollective (Currently awaiting approval) The new website is currently under construction, but will eventually be found at www.midnightnoise.com We shall be keeping a few old tunes, but we are currently writing a completely new set of material... Hopefully the debut will be Friday 8th April at Kef... TMNC over and out
  6. I thought it was great... Which I didn't expect at all! I was expecting Pipers wooden acting, but Dctor who was never about great acting, or fantastic photography, or perfect screen play... That was its charm. I think Ecclestone is perfect for a modern day Doctor... We shall just have to see how the series pans out... Good start thought in my opinion.
  7. I have a zoom 505 II in a box in the back of my cupboard... Exactly where it is going to stay! Sounded great 4 yars ago... Now... Well I can't find the words to descibe it. These units, any of them listed, have pro's and cons, but they are at a higher level than those Zoom boxes thats for sure...
  8. Saw him when he was up here a few years back... Excellent stuff... A legend indeed!
  9. The valve is definitely a good point... I have never been the greatest fan of Vox equipment, although I have heard that this is a well built piece of kit. In general the decison of course will come down to me actually trying these units out... But its good to just hear a few opinions...
  10. I would say mainly live and recording, this is going to be a serious piece of kit for me, and im hoping to get the best sounding piece of kit I can find. But it definitely needs to stands up in a gigging situation... Need for good distortions and overdrives... In most of these units the actual delays/reverbs/choruses etc etc sound very good. But I have noticed differences in the overdrives and so on. A good wah is a must for me as well...
  11. Hmm.. My preference would be to the Joshua Tree era. Achtung baby had about 3 good songs on it, and I can name another two since that point that I could probably listen to quite happily... but definitely before Achtung Baby.
  12. Fraid I do... Im doing well... first it was Hootie and the Blowfish... and now... U2... But ah well! Its my CD player, and my ears... so Ill take the risk! Another 'i hate the sce' 'i hate these boards' 'nothing interesting goes on here' posts... one that gets everyone riled up, and doesn't change very much! The forums allow people to talk about whatever they want to talk about, at whatever time they feel like talking about it... If they feel like writing things which could be considered dull... then thats just the way it goes... I agree with the above post... although, I think most of the subscribers on here, are not the most ardent fans of the actual music scene, but more just have friends who do... Have you tried Granitecity.org??
  13. Here here... That soundtrack is very good...
  14. Same... I just can't concentrate properly if there's not music on, in particular. THe TV not so much, but my CD player would normally be on... For any college work and so on definitely... Think its just habit... but it hasnt really affected my work... so I can't complain...
  15. She's a disturbing girl...
  16. Vague being the operative word there... Mind you since when did HMV and Virgin really know a thing about music? Hehe... Kazzy... this is true... You and buying CD's, its going to take a while for that one to sink in I thinK! The word processor is mightier than the sword... (Doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it?)
  17. Pod XT Live Boss GT-8/GT-6 Native Instruments Guitar Rig Vox Tonelab/ Tonelab SE Im looking at purchasing one of these effects units... I was interested to see if there were players on here who had any personal experience or recommendations in terms of the units I listed above...
  18. Excellent stuff... another date for my calendar...
  19. Hehe... Easy come easy go... The fact that some of those bands would be classed as metal... in any store... worries me greatly! You could have at least bought some decent music with your bday money....
  20. Think he was refferring to the bad blood between Aberdeen and Rangers... Man Utd reslly would be a different thing altogether. Is this actually in the plans? Or just someone having a joke by putting a sign up/writing it for fun?
  21. backs/battery covers of remote controls and so on and guitar plectrums...
  22. The first half was shocking, from a Scottish point of view. Particularly the defence... But I have to say the Scots attitude in the 2nd half was fantastic... If only they found that in themselves in the first it would have been a different game. But there you go. The welsh are high on confidence just now, and they play like that. I would say they are up for the grand slam for sure...
