  1. Aye thats it exactly Hog... This aint really the place to post this I dont think, a little off topic, but if there is anybody who puts together gigs in the Dundee/Perth area, and are looking for any bands to play, contact us! We are also looking out for folk organising gigs in general out of town...
  2. A few of the pther places we have played out of town at have had these contracts, and personally I think it is a fantastic idea, and I don't see many negatives for it at all.. Even if there was, the positives would out number them. Is definitely worth considering...
  3. Forgotten Sons were a good band... but they did not treat us very well. They treated us like we were the spare parts to their gig, and they were also one of the culprits for not letting us use any of the gear, but they let their own support use it... Although it was only one or two of them that caused us problems which caused problems. The vocalist was great, a very tight tribute band I have to say. But both ourselves and the other support that was booked had travelled down from up north for that gig, even that band got a full soundcheck etc etc... Ans a 45 minute set. We got a 3 song set... Even if he had just given us a call or something to inform us... it would have helped... His name? James something, it'll come back to me, he is the manager at Rockers, always behond the bar. Rob, we played there last year and absoloutely loved it... Hence the reason why this took us somewhat by surprise...
  4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=23784&item=7300445610&rd=1 Thats an old ebay lsiting for the fostex, it explains a few things, and as you can see by the bid history, what im asking is reasonable... Or so I am also told it is! Really needs to be a good offer though...
  5. Aye I can imagine... You would know im pretty sure. Its just not cool, we didn't try and stroll into anything, we sent a demo (Again...) made phonecalls, and got the gig, we were just looking foward to gigging outta town again.. But I think its good to experience this, just so you know what you can expect... heh!
  6. We played this place a couple of times last eyar, an absoloutely loved it... hence the reaosn why we were quick to go back... But, we never expected all that, we ended up just laughing about it cause otherwise you'd just break down and cry, wouldn't you? We just got on with it, tried to do our thing the best we could in the circumstances, then left.
  7. Right... yeah... Ironic... Well, feedback is feedback i guess... hehe
  8. Cleartone were in Glasgow last night for a gig at Rockers... and boy were we fucked over... Sorry for the essay like nature of this post, but I need to rant! We got there on time for 6pm soundchecks in the snow, the door was locked. The manager didnt turn up for another hour. Then two other bands turned up, and it was only meat to be a two band night. Turns out the main band of the night were under the impression they were meant to bring their own support, so they did. Then proceeded to try and make it out like we had the wrong day or soemthing, even though our posters were on the wall. Then the manager comes out, and when the question is posed to him about us... his response 'Oh the guys are on a wee tour from Aberdeen, leave it to me, we'll stick them on for a little while at the beginning to keep them happy'. He didnt even acknowledge our presence, even though, he was the one who double booked us and got us down from Aberdeen. Then, we were told that we couldnt use the other bands shared equipment, so we had to set up and dismantle all the house gear ourselves, in a brand new venue we knew nothing about. We even had to set up a second kit in the corner of the stage in front of two of the amps, and werent allowed any drum mics for the PA. then the pother twpo bands were given precedence over us, in soundchecks. Half an hour each... We were allowed nothing. And again the quote was 'if you guys soundcheck, you will only get 10mins' Then the manager came across saying 'you guys should start soon, and dont even think about bad mouthing the venue or the bands for all this' So we ended up only getting 3 songs... And just before the third, one of my strings broke. Next to me was a rack of around 10 house/band guitars. I asked if i could borrow one just for this last song... Did one poerson move an inch? Not an inch... And how did the manager finish the night... 'So, did you guys enjoy yourself tonight?'
  9. Rory is an exceleent guitarist... On these recording it was our former guitarist. Although, in both cases it works, we are hoping tog et in to record some of the newer stuff with Rory. But these recordings are reasonably accurate... I agree with comments about guitar tone... but we spent as much tome as we could to try and get something together, Hog knows what I mean. Cheers for all the feedback folks... seriously, it really is appreciated.
  10. http://www.megaaudio.de/pdf/pdffiles/fostex/fd4.pdf hopefully that can be of use
  11. What else would you expect from a rockstar like Hog? hehe... Its all good, I look forward to seeing spike and element again.
  12. Someone has needed to make this post for a very long time... And I echo the sentiment 110%. We have so much talent, great ideas, and personalities invovled in the scene... But none of it is hitting its potential, because there are many squabbles, vendettas and lies etc. Of course there's room for criticism (constructive) and there is also room for praise... Many folk often forget that. I disagree with the above post... i think we have some great bands in the North East, or some potentially good bands up this way, but with the scene being as it is, and with venues being as they are, and audiences being as they are, bands find it very difficult. Although, for the above factors, I tend to book more gigs out of town in Glasgow/Edinburgh/Dundee and so on, rather than up here. Losing Dr Drakes is a huge huge blow to the scene...
  13. There are plenty of decent bands in the area... I would agree that it would not be a bad idea to just start going to a few gigs, you will be pleasantly surprised. There is something for everyone... nearly... It just depends on the sort of music you want to listen to!
  14. I for one thought your singing was good on the mp3's before. So is that the solo acoustic project thing over and done with now? Cause Im assuming you are still working with Emma?
  15. aye same here... and you try all these weird things and so to try and scratch it... but it just gets worse!
  16. Thanks for that... Nah we won't forget, looks like we have a gig set up at Drummonds on the 5th March for those that are interested. There's a better chemistry in the band I think since Rory came in, and we started practicing a lot more... It was completely different at the time we were recording. We're enjoying ourselves just now though...
  17. Well just now... we sound nothing like our EP cause we have changed a lot of our equipment, and of course have a new guitarist, with a completely different style of play. We've revamped a lot of it since it was recorded... Aye guitar sound is not that great in a lot of places... We tried so many different combination, but we did something wrong there. Again though, I dont make a big deal of it, because it has grown on me. Lyrics haven't been changed that much... I can sing, but my lyrical ability... is not that great... As the songs show! Cheers for all the feedback... Its all very much appreicated! Keep it coming...
  18. *Bump* Thats most likely because it is no longer manufactured, it was purchased about 5/6 years ago. Im afraid my digicam is on the blink.. So I can't post pictures... Erm... All I can say is it is in good nick, and in working order. A good deal at 45 thats for sure! No one fancy the Fostex?
  19. Aye they were recorded in Tom's... Last November mainly, then the backing vox in January.
  20. Yeah the echo is a bitty overdone.. Although at the price it costs to keep mastering it, we won't be going in to change it... But its definitely noted... In general though, I am very happy with the final results. The echo does work well on some of the other tracks though. Aye, your right Rach... Jonno is Jonno!! Some big gigs coming up.. Hopefully we can get something set up in Aberdeen again soon. Cheers for the feedback... It's all very much appreciated!
  21. Nothing like a man standing by his word...
  22. We will be bringing more vocals into our shows... Although they will be slightly less melodic/harmonised as the recordings are.. As that was me singing all the parts... Yep... Glasgow on the 18th Feb (If anyone is going to be down there around then, feel free to come along... Its free entry at Rockers) and a showcase gig in Birmingham on the 22nd... 10am we're onstage... 10am... What a rock n' roll time to play.... *coughs*
  23. Nah man, Jonathan has been in there since the very beginning... Only real change to the lineup is Rory. Cheers!
  24. Hi there, We have put four of our EP recordings onto Pure Volume site (and have updated all our info) so that people can take a listen. Let us know what you think, or simply listen to them. http://www.purevolume.com/cleartone They are similar to the last lot we put on, but this is the mastered mix, with backing vocals, our previous recording were just the first basic mix... I hope you enjoy them... but If not... We tried anyway!
