  1. They played in Aberdeen (moshulu) a couple of years ago dude, with the awesome Textures no less. We played that one too... will never forget that, playing with my 2 favourite bands of the last 5 or 6 years in one night.
  2. Ok so here's my first attempt to recreate the guitar tone of an album that cost infinity billion pounds, with a POD xt. It's a small section from Holier Than Thou: SoundClick artist: Dan Weapon - page with MP3 music downloads Ignore the average bass sound.
  3. Han Solo when he gets frozen in carbonite. He's frozen wearing handcuffs, but then when he comes out his hands are clearly free of any form of arm restraints. I thought it was a documentary up until that point.
  4. Aberdeen isn't the frozen north. You're thinking of the Arctic.
  5. I didn't think Star Wars was real but it didn't stop me from enjoying watching it.
  6. hahaha. This kid goes absolute batshit mental after his mum cancels his world of warcraft account. Don't see how sticking the remote up his ass is gonna help mind you. www.dumpert.nl - Mama cancelt WoW account

Bought his 'so fucking rock' DVD a few months ago. Really good for the most part.
  8. But Killswitch WERE fresh and exciting. 'Alive or just breathing' was massively original and unique when it came out 7 years ago. They're on their fifth album now, so it's not like they are a new metal band anymore.
  9. I know! That bit cracked me up. It wasn't like I hacked in some super code into a photo. Just spent ten mins on photoshop. I'm guessing the transformers movie will blow that guys mind.
  10. I'm afraid I don't have it, but basically the original article said stuff like "Tom's been enjoying burgers on the beach", and that "Harry Redknapp might not see the funny side", although at the very bottom of the article they did put a one sentence disclaimer saying words to the effect of 'this is possibly a spoof circulating on fan's forums' . But they still ran the original article as if it was true. Total joke. And like you say teabags, you can tell because they haven't changed the title in the URL!
  11. Fucking retards. Shows how poor some journalism can be. For those not aware, Tom Huddlestone is a slightly chunky tottenham player. I photoshopped him looking a bit fatter and gave him a McDonalds bag in his hand and posted it on a Spurs forum. The daily mail somehow found it, believed it and it ended up on their website with a story! They've subsequently found out it was a wind up and amended their article now saying it's a prank. Tom goes large: No wonder Spurs find it hard to accommodate Huddlestone in their midfield | Mail Online
  12. Misery Signals are probably our collective favourite band. If we'd have known about it at the time of the Arusha gigs we wouldn't have said anything. Also, as it says on the 'ben is leaving' blog, we decided to plan doing one more show to play a bunch of old songs etc.
  13. (I'm guessing you meant to say "recorded a bunch of tracks"?) cubase, logic, protools, nuendo, reaper, reason, cakewalk....
  14. I can't see the picture, what is it of thank you please?
  15. 18 June 2009 Moderator HQ, Aberdeen-music.com, Teh Interwebz, Cyberspace. FAO: Moderators Dear Sirs, RECENT REMOVAL OF 'JONATHAN ROSS ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING' THREAD FROM GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM. REF NO: BS01-180609 I refer to your recent removal of the above thread from the general discussion forum and subsequent repositioning within the humour sub-forum. Whilst I appreciate that you have assessed the content of the thread in question, and deemed it worthy of a place within the revered humour section of this website, I put it to you that this was a large mistake based on your obvious misunderstanding of the concept of satire. I recognise your roles as moderators have been designated upon you due to an apparent absence of a sense of humour, and therefore I am very understanding in how this mistake may have occurred. Humour is an entirely subjective concept, and one could deduce that something may only be considered humour once a large enough percentage of the people observing it respond with an appreciative comment, acronymic expression of laughter or enjoyment (e.g. lol, lmao or rofl), smiley face or in the case of this website, the much sought-after positive reputation points. Due to the clearly underwhelming performance of this thread in the Views vs Positive respsonses ratio I am left to assume that my original post is objectively NOT humour. In fact at the time of writing, the only lol was offered by a grown man who listens to rapping clowns, an attribute that negates his opinion on anything and everything except the best place to hire an act for working class childrens birthday parties. I trust we can settle this matter by returning the thread to its original location within the general discussion forum. I look forward to your response. Yours faithfully, Daniel P. Goldsworthy BSc (Hons) MArch.
  16. Better that than the other way round, i.e. forcing you to rape your mum while they watch.
  17. He was caught stealing kitchen utensils from John Lewis, apparently. When questioned by the police he said, "it was a whisk I was prepared to take."
  18. Is it just me or does Ryan from Misery Signals (second from left) look like he's holding a golf club over his shoulder?
  19. It's the white stuff that comes out of my dick when I listen to the best Pink floyd songs.
  20. You could argue it. In this case 'Pop' stands for popular music, and Comfortably Numb is one of if not the biggest song from one of the biggest selling artists of all time, so I guess you could say it would come under the label 'pop'. (although by this definition, technically this could mean Iron Maiden are more 'pop' than the Cheeky Girls). I originally started this thread to be about pop songs by pop bands, but people's responses have proved that the parameters of what constitutes 'pop' aren't fixed.
  21. Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me... no more. Ah, Haddaway. Roxette - Got The Look Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Message In A Bottle - The Police
  22. Good stuff dude. Won't beat Ion Storm though...
  23. yeah those are pretty epic as well. All produced by trevor Horn, who also did the 80's Yes stuff and Kiss from a Rose by Seal. His shit sounded massive. I'm a sucker for that huge ambient synthy 80s sound. Sometimes.
  24. Songwise, totally - but they're kinda borderline as I think of them as rock, even if they have ridiculousy pop moments. I guess it's the difference between a pop song and a pop band, so my fault for being too ambiguous in the original post. So on that note I would also say 80's Yes (Famously 'owner of a lonely heart', but also other songs from '90125' and 'Big Generator'). And hell yeah to Tom Petty. Love his stuff.
