  1. Quik Dirtbox PMX At Long Last Moshulu Sunday 17th April 7.30pm New drummer, new songs, new attitude. The gig you've been waiting for.
  2. Why are Finch getting such a bad rap? Their debut album is awesome, and they pull it off a hell of a lot better than most bands do in a live show. When they played Aberdeen they were one of the bands people were pissing their pants over. Fake music? Get real.
  3. Blair Quiks gig of the week: Quik (three piece metallipunks return) Dirtbox (perth melodic punk) PMX (all star records light speed tech punk) At Long Last (long awaited return by punks new players) Sunday 17th April Moshulu 7.30pm
  4. By implication Finch are therefore 'fake' music? Didn't realise there was such a thing.
  5. No dude, Metallica made an arse of St Anger. So what's the deal? Is he out or not?
  6. Fuck. I knew my past would catch up with me sometime. How embarrasing.
  7. Keilan didn't design th erabbit thing. Do an image search for Quik on google and it's one of the first things to come up. Cheater.
  8. Not at all actually, we were actually mates! I was just listening to Green Day religiously (proper Green Day-the old stuff) and wanted to be an angsty teenager with three power chords and a bratty mouth! Sadly it didn't really work....
  9. Mmmmm, think you could be right! Incidentally, my inspiration was from a guy I went to school with called Jack, who was ginger.
  10. The very first song I tried to write when I was about 15 was called Jack Orange, and I got this far: Jack Orange! Who the hell are you? What you gonna do? Do you think you're cool? before I decided to concentrate mt efforts on learning to play! My proudest moment would be "In Dreams": Drop poison in the sea of life She crowds another dream Whilst waiting for your nicotine to burn Headlights are still shone on his face As he starts to erase His own fear of that time Forgotten....back of the line In darkness still waiting for him Somke on his face is wearing thin Now it's time for her emergeance Don't close your eyes Cos it's too hard to say goodbye Fall from the sky Dilluded second chance And your dreams are hard enough Hard enough for ever So let the sunshine settle on my face And your dreams are hard anough Hard enough for ever In time a long since past from here The smoke and darkness gone Replaced with images of smiling Don't close your eyes Co sit's too hard to say goodbye Fall from the sky Dilluded second chance
  11. Nearly right, the second one's called The Beginning of the Rest of the Future. Or 'future' for short.
  12. What what WHAT?!!!! Dude, the best Green Day songs are all on that record. 200 Light Years Away, One of My Lies, Android and best of all Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?. Take off the last couple of tracks, give the rest Dookie style production and you've got the best record Green Day ever made!
  13. Hmmmm, I would say that I prefer Green Day, but I'm not sure about that comment. I mean, Warning was decidedly pish. Don't get me wrong though, I'm a MASSIVE Green Day fan, seen them 3 times, got all their releases, some rare vinyl blah blah blah. As for 'success', well that's a somewhat contentious point I think. I mean after all, what is 'success'? How do you define it? Is a really underground band that make just enough to survive and are totally happy any less 'successful' than The Rolling Stones, for example, who seem to play the greatest hits set just to stop boredom? Did I read too much into this one?!
  14. Green Day at the Barrowlands in 1998. I'm standing right up in front of an unmanned mic, semi in my pants, lights cut and everyone pushes forward. Suddenly my eyeballs are being forced out my sockets, and already I'm getting doc martins in face as waves of old skool punks surf the crowd. The band haven't even hit the stage yet. But then they do and the crowd goes wild. What song do they start with? 'Welcome to Paradise'. Oh yeah.
  15. Awwwwww, once again the V festival brings up the rear, being "the music festival for people who only listen to the pepsi chart". ANyone know who's playing the concrete jungle stage at Reading and Leeds?
  16. It would be fucking ace to see the Prodigy, but TiTP always seems to have a decidedly average bill. Sure, Green Day, Prodigy and a couple of others are pretty descent but I bet the other 100 bands are fucking 80s retro garage rock shite. Was reading in Kerrang the other day, whilst having a jobby incidentally, about all the bands putting out albums this year and it's looking pretty ace. Tenner says the Leeds/Reading bill is incredible. That's where I'll be!
  17. I heard it was SugarCult ages ago, but apparantly it's not. And yeah, Apparantly Simple Plan had to cancel. Shame. Ahem..... So what's the deal then? New Found Glory and somebody else? I'm sure somebody told me last night but I can't remember for the life of me what they said.
  18. Yeah that question's got me a few times as well. Perhaps it's 'cos we don't have 'core' anywhere in our genre. Although I gues you could call us post-new-school-punk-rock-metal-groove-core. Or perhaps we're just too old! By the way, cheers for that one Dan! True story. The release date of the comp has been put back to Monday (31st Jan).
  19. According to the Green Day website the official tour support for the UK is Simple Plan, forgive me if I don't wet my pants Any one else going? And anyone else as pissed off as me? After seeing them twice in the Barrowlands, one of the best venues around, for 13 a pop I now have had to pay 26 to sit down in a seat so far away form the stage I think it's South Lanarkshire! Grrr!
  20. Pretty good track listing I think, any comments?
  21. Wow! I have to say that I whole heartedly agree with the comments on The Strokes, and I do believe The Beatles to be one of the most overrated bands in history. Not too sure about the rest though....
  22. Ha ha cheers dude! I like the direction Quik are taking, aggresive but with a groove. There's so much depressing fucking music going about, it's really sarting to piss me off. Why is depressing always cool in rock music?
  23. .....and the Quik one will be 'In Dreams' . That one seems to be doing the rounds at the moment. Wait till you hear the new stuff we've got going on the new E.P. Holy fuck it's good, even if I do say so myself!
