  1. you have to get hold of the new SC3 LP "book of horizons" traditional arabic instrumentations (afghanistanian tunes) mixed with off kilter ambience, surf guitar...and then.... DEATH METAL ! (it's insane!) one's to look out for are : the owl in daylight UR: Book T : Exodus (this must feature Cephalic Carnage !) garenteed to open your eyes to some new styles ! (here is waht WOM says about it : ) What does this all end up sounding like? You will hear a kick-ass surf band playing in Arabic/Persian tunings, and then switch over to a wall of Penderecki-style orchestral chord clusters accompanied by AC/DC. Then, perhaps the traditional sounding, pseudo-folk Turk/Central Asian imaginal band will hit center stage with Dhol, Saz, Rabab, Esraj and rock drums and start whacking out to the original, catchy songs that no one knows or cares are in 19/16 time. This might be followed by a totally pummeling, nightmarish, not-kidding one bit blast-beat Death Metal band that employs Boulez-ish atonal serialism, played in dastgah tunings, which of course will naturally segue into a band that specializes in Hindi Film Music from the second Golden Era... you get the picture. We're scratching the surface here, not exaggerating. And again, its no joke.
  2. the song on my cans just now is : god loves a trier : by maple. some "lucky people" have mixes already...(lucky ?) nearly there with all the other tracks...
  3. no, you are right, it wasn't corpse paint, he probably got it from any old party shop / joke shop..... arrghghg ! oh no ! what have I said ?!...
  4. I get a boner thinking about choking willaims... mind you, It's just a bit like me wanking anyway, getting my hands round a huge cock.. ho ho
  5. "any old party" aye, they don't make parties like they used too... he he What was your reaction to robbie williams "corpse paint" ?....
  6. maple, 100% home recording (appart from the drums..well .. sort of) not "punk" as in spikey hair and moaning about mcDonalds, but home brewed 100% DIY fuk yaz. and it's sounding magic...just wait...
  7. any fucker in "hello" magazine, or in the sun, or who writes for the sun... Most points don't then seem to be about "hating gays", it's "hating people who are loud and over the top"...so, how should we all behave ? (a rhetorical question)...this thread surely has ran it's course!..
  8. a likely story...just admit it, you make ommlettes with flour...silly wookie ! he he. PS, you've been listening to the wrong kind of dance music (wink wink)... PPS, I don't think that anyone said it was wrong to have a problem with someone "in yer face" (be they straight or gays), I think the argument I was following, were to try and dispell some of the genuine homophobic reasons why "gays are just plain wrong"... that's the main difference where these "arguments" went. (I too agree that any one too exuberent / OTT climbs on my boobs, straight or gay), but I am sure half the posters here wouldn't want the "cute / giggly girls who wear pink, and think that all things crap are "kewel" should be kept indoors!
  9. I read about that in the times... pro-bush punks... now, that's where the use of the word "punk" is an oxymoron. only the yanks can do an oxymoron well... "friendly fire" being the best example.
  10. PS, who the fuck cooks ommlettes with flour in them ? that'd be a fucking pan cake, you twannock!
  11. stoop to MY level, now that is funny, when is your next stand up night ?... great stuff... he he. homophobia (any "phobia" does mean a "fear of" ), but, the argument sited, was a homophobic beating up a gay person, for "flaunting it" in front of them, so, it's not just an "unjustified assault", it's an attack on someone for having a sexual preference. but anyway, like Stripey said, there is no point talking about this, you either don't have a problem with gay people, or you do, I'm just glad I don't give a flying fuck what / who / where you do it, as long as you are happy. (as long as the parties involved are consenting) PS, if I have a kid, and he grows up to be gay, I'd still love him, and treat him as an equal. I wonder how many "male homophobe" have pulled the pud to that Californian "babe" lesbian shit (big tits, blond hair, girl on girl action"...now, that's a mark of how full of shit you can be....
  12. so what does the "surley" mean to you ? (in the context you put it ? I/E. a gay bashing, because a homophobe reacted to something he didn't like )... just clarify it for us then, please. (to me, "surley" after a sentence, is a "confirmation", or agreeing, in a justification of that statement ...) but, I am a pedantic cyant when it comes to people's arguments, after all, a message board can (as we all know), be taken the wrong way, without those funny little smileys, where would we be ?
  13. (appart from this post, a few pages back) It's the "surley" bit that gets me ...as if "well, that sounds OK , doesn't it".
  14. but...(sorry to go on about this)...you are homophobic (as someone alread pointed out) in that you think it should be banned, or kids shouldnt "witness 'it'"...that in it self is homophobia "I have gay friends" , I wonder how long they'd remain friend if you knew they thought you thought they were disgusting, and should only "do what they do" indoors, when it's alright for the rest of us "world saviours" to frolick and have fun in the sun. who here, who's "not homophobic, but don't think that gay's are "right" " is religious ? (based on that whole "you must procreate when having front bum sex" ? (a valid question ?)
  15. from AMG : Thrash was essentially the sound of underground heavy metal during the '80s, dominated by a driving, percussive approach to rhythm guitar (thanks to a pick-hand technique called palm muting) and furious levels of aggression. Thrash was often technically accomplished, taken at fast tempos, and emphasized heavy, sometimes atonal guitar riffs over melody; however, these generalizations are far from absolute rules. In its early days, thrash was essentially the same thing as speed metal, the product of American bands who in the early '80s fused the lean, vicious attack of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal with the tempos of hardcore punk and Motorhead. However, the dexterity and constant intensity required to play speed metal proved limiting to some, and a variety of different approaches quickly took shape: some thrash bands concentrated more on midtempo grooves, occasionally accelerating into speed-metal realms; some, like Metallica and Megadeth, used their instrumental technique to craft more intricate and progressive music; others emphasized the music's aggression to project theatrically menacing images. Thrash provided a harder, heavier, more authentically metallic alternative to the accessible pop-metal bands who dominated the charts in the late '80s, and despite a dearth of airplay, it became quite popular, so much so that when Metallica and Megadeth streamlined their sound to make it more accessible in the early '90s, they became instant superstars. Diehard underground metalheads took refuge in the thrash-inspired death and black metal styles, which took thrash's dark subject matter and visceral force to intentionally disturbing extremes. ------------ not many bands mentioned in there... my fave "thrash" band would have to be DRI
  16. prong - beg to differ go find it, and be amazed at the sheer "to ahead of it's time for it's own good" quality. mathcore 10 years too early. same as 'the beyond', actually ...
  17. oh...here we go..."what is punk"...arrrghghg.... he he
  18. napalm death : scum rudimentari peni : death church
  19. you can see the video for "the mob goes wild" here : http://www.hyfntrak.com/clutch/AFF2434/
  20. I saw that the other day on prorock ( http://www.pro-rock.com/ ) I couldn't believe it either... the artwork looks stinky as hell. Is it out in britain ? as I looked for it the other day. Poe (in Houston) has spied it, and he's on hold to get one for me if it ain't in blighty yet... as goes for the new SC3 lp...woohoo !the pitchfork media review : Clutch: "The Mob Goes Wild" Your love for Clutch's distinct brand of clever metal will depend on your tolerance for Neil Fallon's alternately inscrutable, satirical and arch lyrics. I, for one, think the guy's a wordsmith in the tradition of Frank Zappa, Mark Mothersbaugh or De La Soul-- sometimes the words tell a story, sometimes they make a point, and sometimes they just exist to twist the tongue. Here, over some heavy boogie riffage, Fallon takes on-- no, really-- terrorism ("The beast you see got fifty eyes"), post-9/11 paranoia ("Play it cool, the hand's been dealt"), and the war in Iraq ("Save the victory speeches for later"). At least, that's the way I see it. Not that this is a "message" song; most of the lyrics are typically abstract and hidden beneath Clutch's trademark pounding groove. But with its scathingly cynical chorus, it's not hard to see the song as their high-concept "War Pigs": "21 guns, box made of pine, letter from the government sealed and signed/ Delivered Federal Express on your mother's doorstep." But Fallon's hardly the kind of guy to simply criticize without offering up any answers of his own. His advice for those who can't bear the current fucked up political climate in the U.S.? "Everybody move to Canada and smoke lots of pot." [Christopher Weber; May 12th, 2004]
  21. Hmm... Just because he's epileptic, doesn't mean he can't be educated, have an infomed opinion etc.. Epileptics are not "thick" or "stupid", as a whole...but this one is. According to Anton LaVey, Stupidity is a cardinal "sin" of a satanist. I think someone is breaking that rule...
  22. excellent, my good lady wife will be dead chuffed too. thanks for the post
  23. just to add, I believe that "gay people" have both kinds of stimuli, nature AND nurture. like most kids don't turn out to be violent murderers (after watching too manyA-teams). but, like I said a while back, who care if kids turn gay, because they see a gay couple covorting, its WHY SHOULD YOU DISAPROVE OF THE KID TURNING GAY that's the real issue.
  24. I am trying to impress no one, why should I ? that's your patriarchial male macho orientated style ? nes pas ?! as for "not being homophobic", I think you are, because of your already said points on thinking that children should be "protected from them"... Fair dues, you like gay people, that's cool, so do I , but , i have the idea that gay people should be seen , and should be alowed to express themselves as they see fit, and NOT have some guy tell them its wrong. If anything, I think drunken louts who kick the shit pout of people every friday night should be kept indoors ... but, we're never going to agree, so lets drop it. I'm right, you're right, we're all right, that's what makes the world go round.
