  1. bloody hell only went and won the league last game of the season, I spent 10k on transfers, cobbled a squad together with freebies and loan players, absolutely ecstactic, I am the Steve McClaren of FM12! Without the brolly.... Desperately want a new job so pissing the board off by declaring interest in any job I am linked for! Determined not to take the easy route of simply quitting and going to my shack in the bahamas and waiting for job offers to flood in. Straight in Champions League where I will enivitably be pillared by every single team! Oh and won the Portuguese League Cup to make it a double winning season and bagged manager of the year!
  2. getting tense in Portugal, five games to go, can I defy the odds and win the title? 3 points between the top three sides and I am top, will finish below Benfica if we are level due to the results between teams thingy as I lost to them both times (only 2 games I've lost in league all season!) the bastards also beat me in the group stages of the league cup and the Portuguese FA Cup. Got a three point lead on them, my other rivals Porto I spanked 4-0 in the league and they're 2 points behind, have to play them away so just need to avoid a complete tanking. Will finish this season tonight whilst watching the Sunderland v Everton match!
  3. 8 games to go in my 4th season in Portuguese football and in with a serious shot of the title, lost just 2 in 22 and locked in a three way battle with battle with Porto and Benfica with just 2 points between the three of us, it goes on results between teams . Lost both league games to Porto so should we be level on points will finish below them but beat Porto 4-0 and still to play them. Also got myself in the final of the Portuguese League Cup and have avoided the big three and bogie team Braga so confident some silverware is coming my way this season!
  4. Shame about the Wilson he always seemed like a decent chap, still null points for me
  5. I've been known to do a Mourinho and make 2 subs at half time if things going shite but in general stick to the 60, 70 and 80 min rule for substitutions. I usually stick on timewasting and go ultra defensive if holding a narrow lead after 80 minutes and bring on a fresh defender. Been experimenting a bit more with team talks this season and in the main its working, finding throwing major teacups after a defeat is working next game. For example after being humped 5-1 away at St Ettiene in Europe I went and beat Porto 4-0 next match. Am top of the league (only just mind) on the back of 8 successive league wins and been spouting shite like I intend to stay top of the league for the rest of the season and predicting my team to win the league something I have never done before. Also been demanding a win if my team is clear favourites which is working as well. I tend to sign players under 30 but if a good oldie comes my way I'll snap him up. When at Cambridge i signed a 36 year old Ukrainian international who was the dogs bollocks first season and second season when he was in decline he was still a great influence on the squad according to my assistant.
  6. Had to chuckle at the excuses of the Dalglish, the man is a fool and the scousers will soon begin to lose patience (or more patience) if they keep dropping points to premier league fodder at home. He has spent 100 million yet all he has in his favour is winning a cup the proper big teams couldn't give a stuff about. There is no excuse getting beat at home to a side bottom of the league who mustered just four league wins all season!
  7. It's quite an art but can be done in this day and age! And when I do I like to predict the outcome and you can usually get an idea by the running order. Some games such as City v Chelsea will always get top billing regardless of result but if they show big club v straggler high up the order then you know its either plucky draw or win for straggler or big club has tanked a good few goals by them. Glad City won last night as had they lost that reckon Utd would have wandered off with the title with ease, could be going to the wire this one! Oh dear Liverpool lost again but its ok cos King Kenneth won the league cup but they been really shit in the league this season!
  8. still at P Ferreira, still getting linked with loads of jobs even declaring some interest in the odd one but still not one offer on the table. still shit in europe 2 points from 9 in euro cup group stages, can qualify for europe easy but doing fuck all when i get there. the new stadium was completely unecessary and a burden on the club finances, thankfully managed to sign a few promising youngsters when i did get a small transfer budget first two seasons, since then been given 100k. Having to shore the squad up with freebies and loan signings - the big three plus braga always have players you can sign for fuck all on loan. am stuck in a bit of rut now but will keep plugging away!
  9. we been joking on the terraces at The Abbey Stadium if this Messi chap is that good let's see him take on some tinpot stragglers we have to face week in week out such as Bath City, Tamworth or Hayes & Yeading all on his own... bastard thing he he would probably beat the fuckers 15-0.... Am playing the old-fashioned game of avoiding the Premier League scores before watching Match Of The Day later!
  10. now moved onto the first Cornershop album 'Hold On It Hurts' partying like its 1994!
  11. I am listening to the first album by Compulsion from 1994, what an awesome album, was always surprised they were never bigger. I also continue to support The Ting Tings despite the appalling sales of their new album, it is not nearly as good as 'We Started Nothing' admittedly which is a fave on the car stereo when driving to work at the moment especially the title track.
  12. just seen a tweet that they got him breathing again. Puts things into prospective considering the shite I had to endure at the Abbey Stadium this afternoon!
  13. I agree Torres was nae too bad when he came on last night but his goal return since his ridiculously inflated transfer fee is beyond pathetic. Think that's 26 games without finding the net now! Not Torres fault he went such a sum though. He should deffo leave England to relaunch his game, doubt he'll be going to the Euros at this rate. Wonder if Man U can turn things around in Spain tonight? Fergie may well write off the Europa League as a tax loss and play a bunch of fringe players, a very tall order and let's face it stealing the title from City is the main priority.
  14. Yes but Torres is no longer a world class striker, think he needs a spell in the BSP he might actually score some goals there! Credit where its due to Chelsea, hope they get Real or Barcelona in the next round but they'll probably be jammy and get that team from Cyprus. Be even funnier if they got knocked out by them though! On penalties of course!
  15. Chelsea seem to be a bit rejuvenated since AVB left the 'project' but a big test tonight. By tomorrow night all the English teams could well be out of Europe! Think tonight's game is a hard one to predict, obviously Chelsea are up against it but an early goal could lead to the Italians panicking a wee bit. Meanwhile down in the toilet land of the BSP, second win on the bounce for Cambridge last night and good to see our 15k striker getting his first goal for the club. What was even better was the manager throwing four up front with 5 mins to go and we went all gung ho and got the winner! Nice when a tactical plan works! Thing is can see his thinking, we're officially safe from relegation this season so might as well try a few things out! Could still make a late charge for the play offs but highly unlikely I would suggest. Bring on Gateshead on Saturday!
  16. The mighty Barrow are in town tonight, can't wait!!!
  17. Some bod was spouting stats on talksport today and Dalglish's record is no better than Roy Hodgson's! Yet the 'King' has spent 100 million quid! But he did win the Carling Cup on penalties against a Championship side
  18. I've got a few manager of the year titles, even when I finished 6th with P Ferreira as the team were expected to go down! God I'm shit in Europe, another disastrous Euro Cup campaign with one win in five and four defeats knocked out before the final game again!
  19. fuck the world Cambridge won at Stockport yesterday afternoon first league win an an age.... amazing how a win makes life feel so much better! Especially away! had to chuckle at how low on the football radar MOTD think Liverpool are their defeat to Sunderland was second last match on the programme. Oh dear Spurs have gone well shit since pizza lover quit England! Man City will win the league for the next 15 seasons Man Utd will be fucked the minute Sir Purple Face either retires, goes upstairs or dies
  20. Still plugging away with P Ferreira in Portugal. New 27,000 all-seater stadium on the way though seems a bit excessive since we only have 2,000 season ticket holders! Second season finished 3rd in league (predictably miles behind Champions Porto who have won the title an incredible 14 times on the trot!) thus qualifying for the Champions League. Almost made the group stages after comfortably beating AZ faced CSKA Moscow, got a credible 1-1 draw at their place before succumbing 2-1 at home after extra time. Never mind looking forward to trying to make a better job of the Euro Cup group stages than last season! Not gonna be easy though in my group are current holders Espanyol, Dinamo Moscow and Gaziantepsor of Turkey (never heard of them!!).
  21. They should give the Chelsea job to Sven Goran Erikson, he likes going to a big club for a short space of time, not doing much then walking away with a pot load of easy cash!
  22. 3rd in the league half way through the season, was dicked in the euro league group stages won 1 drew 1 lost 4 but at least that win was away at Real. Trimmed the squad in the transfer window and just got a thrilling 3-3 draw against Benfica equalizing with a 95th min pen. And still in the prestigious League Cup! Happy days in Portugal!
  23. I feel sorry for AVB clearly ageing wankers like Lampard who think they have a divine right to start every game are disrupting the dressing room. I say keep AVB and get rid of Lampard!!!
  24. lost the next four games since beating real away including the home game against the spanish giants, going a bit gung ho on this game now fuck it!
  25. I used to play FIFA and started around 96 but got in FM circa 2004, began to find FIFA way too hard to play last version I had was I think 2008 for the Playstation 3 but didn't like it at all... once I got the management bug that was me sold!
