  1. i'm with you on this one. there was a lot of pressure to be brainy, possibly because the year groups were so small and there were very few people who didn't get good grades so if you didn't you'd be kind of outcast. they tried bringing boys into albyn before and only 1 came, for like a term of something. if they do actually manage to make it co-ed, i'd hope they still keep class sizes as small as they are because that's one of the things i benefitted from. i think they should keep it single sex though, because boys were enough of a distraction outside of school for not only myself, but for the majority of my year group.
  2. you know if you drop a cat from higher than 7 stories or lower than 5 storeys it's likely to survive. at 7 storeys it reaches terminal velocity and when it does that it can puff itself out like a squirrel does and parachute down. just never drop it from 6 storeys because won't give it enough time to hit terminal velocity but it's too far down for it to just land.
  3. mine because bettie paige is the epitome of 1950's pin-up girls which was representative of 1950's mysogeny, which the emos hate because emos hate sexism.
  4. i sent my apologies with neil so i hope he gave them. i got caught in a web of revision cos i have exams next week. i'll be there at future meetings though.
  5. I haven't watched any of Max and Paddy but the trailers just looked so unfunny and unappealing. The Smoking Room. I watched the first episode with a blank face, waiting for evidence of the BBC's 'hottest new comedy.' Didn't find it.
  6. they're all totally buff. i was impressed.
  7. i don't think they'll actually bring restrictions. manson has been blamed as the influence of any teenager who liked rock music who's gone mental and killed folk. they blamed him after columbine and there were no restrictions on his music or goth culture afterwards.
  8. "this time we all cruised out in my ride" ben, you're white! and british!
  9. yeah, rachie is awesome on the cello. she played live for deadloss superstar at christmas. beautiful stuff.
  10. ELO Kiddies by Cheap Trick. I've stolen Chris' first Cheap Trick album and I'm becoming obsessed. If anyone sees me strutting through town all glammed up like a Cheap Trick groupie, that's why.
  11. it was fucking awesome, especially when the french bloke did a handstand on the edge of a railing about 50 feet up. and the edinburgh castle bit.
  12. that's beautiful. i'm pretty sure they took out an exclamation for men a couple years ago.
  13. me and my cousin spent hours making up a dance routine to Straight Up in 1991/92. Can't remember exactly although i can still remember some of the steps. Exclamation perfume smelled a little bit like licorice allsorts. I wore Charlie Gold.
  14. I can come either day. I'd be a category 4, cos i've organised loads of events. i also know of a few places where we could get things printed and made up, either cheaply or for free.
  15. there's a kiss tribute band at drummonds on the 12th, which i'll sadly miss, but i'll be in paris which is better. i'd only cancel a trip to paris if the real kiss were playing drummonds.
  16. party at mine then to the moorings for the bells and then on to moshulu which i can't remember at all but i apparently threw up. ate a chicken kebab AND a pizza on the way home which were promptly thrown up as soon as i got home (not surprising really) then sat in my flatmate's room till about 6, where jimmy lucifer got the sweats for no reason much to our amusement.
  17. i got the number of the sri lankan tsunami appeal folk (they've been collecting in st nicholas centre). the woman i spoke to said if a gig went ahead they'd like to get involved somehow.
