  1. Beeker. People like you REALLY fuck me off. I do my degree because I am passionate about it. I have managed to study at a university across the other side of the world because of it, have learnt a language fluently, have research, analytical and all other kinds of presentation and communication skills, eg TRANSFERABLE SKILLS. Just because it might involve studying literature, or history, fuckwits like you who are sluts for the job market criticise. I dont want to be stuck on a career path doing a fucking boring vocational degree course so i can get crammed into some graduate scheme which exists purely so the fuckers can pay stupid students way less for jobs they should pay higher wages to already partly trained people for. But apparently a free laptop makes up for that.... I want to do some fucking learning about some interesting things, for ME. I have about a trillion things i could do, as a lot of employers value your experience and transferable skills, even if from a non vocational degree. EG if you are not a law student, you can still get into law (infact companies make sure they have an intake of non law students). You can do journalism, communications, work for NGOS, get into foreign office fast track, become a government advisor, write novels, write articles, THE LIST IS FUCKING ENDLESS sorry to rant, but if one more ignorant bastard asks in a really fucking patronising way "oh...so what can you do with THAT?!!, scream back "anything i fucking want." You are not limited by your degree, it is a an amazing advantage in more career areas than little computing studies pig shits can imagine....
  2. that is shit, and with all those gigs lined up too. not that that matters when someone is seriously ill. those nice docs and nurses will sort it all out. x
  3. I recently made some terrible jokes about something terrible. I always assume that as long as I find something that happened to me funny, others will too. This wasnt the case unfortunately, and I actually ended up making someone really nice feel really horrible. I'll never stop finding most things funny, but think I should switch the tact back on sometimes. OR NOT x
  4. xiu xiu i love the valley OH amon tobin *anything*
  5. my spanish is spot on. he just really really is that stupid.
  6. always make sure you do the dumping. recently, i broke up with a latino idiot by screaming in spanish that he was thick as pig shit, and his mother was a real neurotic evil biatch. he didnt get it though, and recently sent me his love. ....just what do you have to tell people these days?
  7. i fucking love wine. its all about the chilean. concha y toro is good.oddbins stock the special-er stuff they do, that have sort of travel style labels as the labels. my old mucker Gonzalo has just finished planting the amazing carmenere grape which will be on our shelves in five years. get some casillero del diablo on the go. scrum. Misiones de Rengo make yum wine. If you are strapped for cash, you can pick up a cheap bottle of chilean wine and be assured of a quality drink usually. which i find doesnt always happen with french wine these days. Argentinian malbec is the bomb. we bought a delicious 1997 reserve from a vineyard for 16 quid and it was the nicest thing i have ever ever drunk. makes all other malbec wannabes taste shit though. i love zinfandel...mmm...nice australian one at the moment, iron creek? could be. its 16.5% though. oof. quite like georgian red wine, and just been given a present of a 1999 rioja which was the sex. greek wine is sometimes nice for earth tastes. like the wolf blass yello label too. and you cant beat a powerful italian cab sauv.....rar. MMMM RED WINE. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  21. As the british red cross say: Please note that we do not send volunteers overseas. We have a network of local volunteers working in the areas affected and only send paid delegates with specific skills, such as doctors and nurses, overseas to provide support. At the moment, til longer term volunteer projects are set up, and when un trained volunteers become more useful and not a liability, id send cash. lots of cash. much cash.
  22. no offence, like, BUT they might need the cash more than they need volunteers at the moment. why not collect some dosh from your mates/family and send it off? in this sorta early emergency they will need to provide for the people suffering most directly. the reason they need to ship out tourists as quickly as they can is that they represent another drain on resources. Later on, long term, i'm sure there might be structured volunteer programs, to help rebuild areas etc. But dosh is the way to go x
  23. Joe strummer got Allen Ginsberg on stage. And to help em play with some lyrics. That is GOOD.
