This is horrible. I can't believe it's happened. I just hear these awful sirens everywhere, and everyone is trying to walk home. Poor tiny tourists lost, and everyone who was affected must surely still be in shock. There must be far more casualties than they can estimate currently. Horrible I can't watch the news anywmore, because i live so centrally all the places featured are just down the road. those evil bastards. x

We had an allotment near Torphins too, all kinds of stuff. Loved growing carrots and beetroot. Fresh tatties and peas and leeks were ace. Spring onions, and lettuce rows and rhubarb and spring greens and courgettes. Remember doing lots of weeding, and caterpillar killing. Now i can only keep herbs alive, and have just killed off a batch of chilli plants. Do green fingers disappear with age? Really want garden house. Only have plant pots on grimy balcony now, but the rocket is good at least...xxx

The Needles are playing my student's union (warwick) in the next two weeks.... I can't go, which is SHIT but I have told everyone else if they don't make the effort I will kill them. I love our union recently. Ents manager is ace, and overall it is run by this guy who used to run the Hacienda. madness. x

It is shit that, but it does happen. They reckon that with a degree you are just taking on a job as a stop gap, and are more likely to leave earlier. It makes you a less good option for the business to invest in, eg in training. I guess this is why they have those shitty graduate schemes for uni leavers, to make it worthwhile for them to stick around. You normally have to convince them you plan to advance yourself within the company. You have to outline motivations relating to the company so they think employing you is worth the effort. if they think you see the job as shit they never let you have it. VERY depressing though.....

ooh scene point. look beek-ster, anyone who spells facade with a double s really needs to get some education. if not for themselves, for the people who have to read their posts. someone recently made the rather good point that really questioning yourself and your motivations (re things you would like to do with your career etc) at this age is a good thing. for you boring bastards who will end up as a smudgey paste of cells in front of a computer screen slaving away for the occasional weekend break, this experience will only be more traumatic if it occurs later in life, when you are 40, wizened, and desperate to find some kind of fulfilment, or at least try to match up what you expected from life with what you actually have. Anyone who has parents or relatives who have experienced this kind of crisis will know what I'm saying. Remember,we are all going to change careers a few times during our life, so try not to set yourself up to fail by limiting yourself to one... So, i think it is a very positive thing that i am questioning and researching career paths, and future plans, in order to make informed decisions, and to try to do the best i can to make myself happy! This for me will mean getting scholarships to study further, or seeking work in Spain! bring it on......

They are running a course in my department called: Histories of Gender in the Americas: Ladies, Wenches, Hombres and Machos Two guys in fourth year with me do it, and they are probably the only boys. They had to discuss the female orgasm for two weeks. top.
