  1. As the days go by, I find myself liking more and more Blink stuff, mostly the newer stuff but all the 'classics' are dancers at least. That other band sound totally limp-wristed from what everyone's saying but I ain't 'eard 'em so I don't know. When is the gig?
  2. A little birdy tells me 36CF are touring the UK in October - Wayahead/See Tickets doesn't seem to have the full list of dates as per usual and neither does NME.co.uk and NEITHER does their website! Anyone know if they're coming to Scotland....?
  3. No, means he can go three times!
  4. Bootleging isn't illegal - pirating is. Two completely different things.
  5. Nirvana nearly didn't even record Teen Spirit cos they thought it sounded too much like the Pixies. They played it at a show about a week before they went into the studio and everyone loved it so they recorded it. Also, Kurt plays directly into the mixing desk, via a distortion pedal, in Territorial Pissings. Butch Vig was very much against the idea. Green Day's Tre Cool's real name is Frank Erwin Wright III. Rick Rubin produced Mel "Sporty Spice" C's solo album. I've been in Kerrang!
  6. I don't mean to sound like a toss.......but now I think about it, the first gig of every band I've ever been in has been to a big group of people that I don't know! First gig with Clocker was to HEAPS of people at Kemnay Town Hall or something, first RBC gig was to an almost sold out TKs crowd, first proper RATAMS gig was to an almost sold out TKs crowd and the first WBL gig was to quiet a lot of people at the Palace...! I don't want this trend to continue with the Piss Cranes...
  7. I think everyone is totally missing the main point of this thread....
  8. Woah, I'm quoted in that article... :O Set up a mirror infront of where you practice so you can watch yourself performing, or even better, a video camera so you can watch back. If you know and are comfortable with the way you look then you'll be more comfortable being infront of everyone. If you look cool to you then you should look cool to everyone else too. Being onstage is very much about the visual as the music, if people only wanted to hear the music they'd buy the CD and stay at home... Something I remember hearing some time AGES ago is that when you're addressing a group of people, whether it be as part of a band or for a speech, the place to 'look' from the stage is the top of the head of the person at the very BACK of the venue. There's nothing worse than standing at a gig to see the guitarists etc just looking at first couple of rows, you feel disconnected. If you're looking that little bit above everyone, with a few glances down to the front every now and again, you'll make everyone there think you're engaging them. I've been pretty lucky being a drummer, you have a barrier as it were between you and the audience, you can just put your head down and just rock out. I have played guitar though and I actually found taking my glasses off was a big help - couldn't see the audience faces, could see if they were cheering or leering....! At the end of the day it's all about being prepared - fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Know your set, know what you're playing, think about what you might wanna say inbetween songs. You are performing, same as someone in a play or hell, even in a film, come up with a performance. There was a programme on the telly about 10 years ago that followed Metallica for a few gigs and they showed James Hetfield doing almost exactly the same 'random' things at different gigs. See, the big boys do it too;)
  9. My fave track is the new jingle by FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I think you're doing Dave Grohl a bit of an injustice, tbh. I may be biased being generally in-awe of the man's overall musical abilities but I do think he's a better drummer than you lot are giving him credit for. Listening to all the different albums he's played on, there's tonnes of variation in style and technique that a lot of drummers are uncapable of. I was suprised that Jose Incubus was so high, he's good but he's not that good and was suprised that Joey Slipknot wasn't higher. There's a suprising lack of 'nu-metal' drummers in there - Abe Deftones is fookin' ace.
  11. From that comment, I'm taking it as red you've never read it, right.....?
  12. Brian, you should know better by now not to wax my ego... PISS CRANES WILL RULE THE WORLD!!!!! as indorsed by Fudge Fanzine Don't say we didn't give pleny warning...

    Turning 13

There's a lot of bands all over the world than can be improved with 'better drumming'. Usually at the end of the day it's not what is actually played, it's how tight and in time the drummer is. I've only heard what they've recorded, can't say I liked it. But each to their own, don't go giving it up just cos a few people say you suck:) Practice practice practice
  16. Compared to the rest, SG actually seemed quite pussy! lol But their breakdownds are phat as phuck + their Busted jumps are ace
  17. ...last night was FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nae luck to the person who picked a fight with Paul Samat though.....!
  18. I have to say I agree with many of the replies here but some of them are just attention seeking windups - as usual. I think Neils move, albiet extreme, was fair. There are totally some people with sigs that were too big although personnally I would have posted a warning to all members about the size of sigs and see what they do rather than just taken them away. But at the end of the day, Neil is the boss so what he says goes.
  19. Prepare yourself for the Piss Cranes. You have been warned.
  20. What, to get to Edinburgh and back?! What does your car run on, nitro?!
  21. My favourite B-sides are both Foo Fighters ones - Winniebago off the This Is A Call single and The Colour And The Shape off the Monkey Wrench single. However, the best, I think it's Good Riddance by Green Day. Originally on the Brain Stew/Jaded single, the song of course went on to be re-recorded and released on Nimod. Following it being used on Sienfeld(SP?!) it then became the most heard song in the world, ever.
