Yeah, I was a bit dissapointed with it too, especially as loads of people have been raving about it for YEARS. But is there anyone on here who is actually a big time fan of any of the singers bands that were featured? What did you think? Cos my knowledge of Motorhead doesn't go much further than Ace Of Spades and I only have a limited knowledge of Sepultura but those tracks did sound like those bands so how about the rest of them, people?
  2. Was the last Machine Head out this year or was it last year? I cannae mind what's come out this year other than 36CF which is m\/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/ big time. Again, cannae mind if this was out this year, if it wasn't, it was Decemeber or something - Siobhan Donaghy. She was the girl that used to be in Sugababes back in the day but left cos the other two were be'hatches. Siobhan's album, Revolution In Me, was produce by either someone IN Massive Attack or someone who produced MA at some point, cannae mind that either. But the album is ace as fuck. Of course 2004 has so far been good for 'local' music....can't imagine it getting ANY better...
  3. I wouldn't go quite as far to say end of after that one line statement although you're not far off the mark. Punk and HC fans are arguably some of the most passionate fans around. True TRUE punk/HC/sXe fans REALLY do believe in ethics of their genres which I think I would term 'blinkers' them rather than just calling them tossers. You have to remember that the term 'fan' is a shorten version of 'fanatic'. There's always two sides to every story - ANY promotor in the world would put on a band they KNOW can pull a crowd to a gig if they were unsure of the popularity of the headline/touring bands. Hell, Paul Stewart and Drakes and Fudge do that ALL the time(and in fact,I'm sure Fudge would be the first to admit they do it for the money 9 times out of 10 rather than the music). There's the famous time that TAR supported Stiff Little Fingers at the Lemon Tree, a gig that had already sold out, solely because the powers that be at the LT liked TAR. However the SLF's crowd HATED them and as good as got boo'ed off stage. From what it sounds like, it does sound stupid that Stoma played second and not first and maybe the promotor doesn't actually know the scene around these bands that well. However, maybe he knows it like the back of his hand and maybe thought to himself 'hmm, maybe I'll put Stoma on later, they maybe not be true HC but they're pretty heavy, I like 'em and I like HC, maybe the HC fans will like 'em too', trying to help a 'local' unsigned band. Now like I said in my first post, I don't like Stoma, musically that is. I didn't speak to any of them when we played with them so I don't know what they're like however judgnig by what they posted in the original thread, one of them seems quite sound, another seems a bit of an arse. But it does seem like they've had a bit of a bad rap over it, which is a shame. I'd also like to add that reading that post, I couldn't help but think of events closer to home which then made me think '....fuck....it's like this everywhere...' X-(
  4. Nope. I actually nearly liked them initially, put them on at least one gig I organised, back in the day but no, not them... I'm not sure this is an issue that would want to be made public tbh. There's enough boat rocking as it is, I'll just fester my rage....!
  5. Actually, I can think of one.....but you'd all hate me....
  6. I think we played with them in Dundee sometime last year. I can't remember a band I took a quicker disliking to.
  7. 4th October, what a wonderful day... I was wondering about this tour, I thought they'd split up already - is there some Best Of album coming out or something? I wouldn't go, unless there needed to be some 'local' support...
  8. Pfff, and you thought they were in it for the music and the company....! You know, rather than wanking over some comedy hardcore band to reform, you REALLY should see if you can get the most profitable band in Fudge history to play.....fat fucking chance of that ever happening though:P And I can't believe someone said they always wanted to see RATAMS as well, what the fuck is in the water up there these days?!

  10. 'we become less' are touring Scotland in May to promote thier new CD, 'a single truth' and will be bringing the ruckus to Abereen on Thursday 20th May at Kef, Beltmont Street. Support is TBC but expect some of your favourite locals heros from all genres making it THE gig to be at to relax from the exam blues. The new CD will be available to purchase from the band on the night which, if we do say so ourselves, IS GREAT!!!!! And remember, folks, Kef only holds about 200 people so be there early.......... * *....I'll more than likely regret saying that when only 30 people show up....:O
  11. Maybe you should try get the first Fudge bill back together for the one gig. Which would hail the return of......DJ NUTTFLAKE! B-)
  12. I believe the hip young kids down south say 'safe' rather than 'cool.' Example: 'we had a great gig last night' 'safe!' Well, Aconite Thrill say that, and they're cool....sorry, safe...
  13. ...well you said to me rough, lover...:O
  14. Well I heard I was awfully drunk last night, as was a certain maths/computing teacher from Broxburn...
  15. Oooh, IDD, Broken Oath and Zillah are all ace! Shows any band originally from Aberdeen how heavy music should be done. Prepare to be embarressed.

    Last Nights Fudge!

Well, I was stuck behind the merch stall for most of the evening but managed to slip out to see Pickle Fublic who are indeed ace. I would encourage people to vote for them in the Awards were it not for WBL being in that catagory too.....! Did ANYONE actually listen to the panto when it was on, btw....?

Is there a band in Aberdeen that is available during the day of Saturday 15th of November that can play 'By The Way' by RCHP? Or, is there anyone that think they can do a vocal performance that would match, but with different words.....? PM me or Martin.
  20. This may have been cleared up many weeks ago but fucked if I'm reading all these posts - shouldn't the judges be people that are NOT in any of the bands up for the title....?
