  1. i have to say i love my bc rich... it sounds and plays beautifully (in my opinion anyway) mine is a NJ Neck thru series btw bruce millers also had in one of the exclusive series 'riches that was really really nice, played very similar to my guitar though (but without the trem and a archtop body) i havent been as impressed with the other bc riches ive played though, like the bodyart ones, they were pretty average David
  2. i dont think so.. i am buying the vibratrem pedal off him, and i only asked about it after the sold message had appeared, he also said that he still had the wah if i wanted it... i think sold was refering to the other item David
  3. check out this thread, he has a crybaby for sale - http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12643 David
  4. out of the two i would probably go for the ibanez, the esp is kinda cool, but i just dont like the shape that much i would go have a look at Jackson guitars, the ibanez is basically a copy of the Jackson soloist... and if you are contemplating a ESP ex, i would also check out the Jackson kelly and warrior kelly- warrior- personally, the next guitar i buy should hopefully be a tele David
  5. fuck yes, that would rock muchly stick me down for a ticket i thought the last tour was the farewell one though.. im sure i remember reading in kerrang about the last ever gig they played a while ago... oh, and starfall as a support would also be rather cool, luke was the person that introduced me to pitchshifter in the first place... David
  6. unfortunately its going to be a few weeks before i can get my hands on any 'subjects' so it will be a while before i get to experiment as for circuit bending, have a look at http://www.oddmusic.com/illogic/illogic1.html that has basically everything you need to know to give it a shot. its amusingly simple really David
  7. they both have different sounds... so learn both, then you can have the option of using whatever suits a song more David
  8. happiness is in a warm valve preferably more than one of them... and on that note, im off to play guitar (via a JCM2000) David
  9. that quote was from eddie van halen, but mick can do the same thing.... David
  10. i will see what i can actually find... basically i intend getting as many as i can for whatever money i have at the time. hopefully i will be able to get some vl-tones (for keeping stock) and a sk-1 or two for bending, and whatever odds and ends i can get hold of David
  11. i think what he is wanting, is a decent powered valve amp, that is loud enough for gigging with. but then to also use an attenuator to take it down to bedroom levels for use at home... if the amp has the option of running externam cabs, then its most likely that they will be able to disconnect the internal speaker to stick an attenuator between amp and speakers one problem you might come across would be the length of the speaker cables... for internal speakers, i know most amps will have the speaker wired directly to a 1/4 inch jack that plugs into the output, but the cable will only be long enough to reach the output and possibly a little further. so unless the attenuator is sitting behind the amp in reach of the speaker lead you would have to find some way of extending it i dont think extending it would be too hard, you would have to find some way of turning the 1/4 in ch jack on the speaker to a 1/4 inch socket. so then you would need a patch cable length speaker lead for normal use, or a longer lead for using with an attenuator David
  12. i will hopefully get out to thainstone sometime soon to go hunting for some small keyboardy devices, hopefully get a few so i can keep one or two normal, and circuit bend any others for some cool noises i also found one of those kids electronics kits, which has 'pencil music' in it, so i am contemplationg making a funky version of that, it will basically have a knob to change the pitch of the note instead of using pencil lead and two probes. i may use two knobs, then a switch between them so you could rapidly flick between two different notes pointless, but amusing David
  13. still got the vibratrem? David
  14. try www.fender.co.uk then that might have some uk dedicated stuff. cant say ive actually visited it in ages, but it used to at least (i think) David
  15. auto wahs and normal wahs are quite different... on a normal wah pedal you set the amount of 'wah' by the position of the rocker, while an auto wah sets it by the strength of the signal (the harder you hit the strings, the more they 'wah') i would stick to a normal wah pedal David
  16. a whammy is a pitchshifter kind like a tremolo on a guitar, but in pedal form David
  17. you can get them undistressed if you ask, best bet is to email tim mills (they guy that makes them) and see what he says David
  18. any other low budget but cool keyboardy things out there i could get easily? i want two, one to play with, and a second for some attemped circuit bending (and then to hopefully play with) David
  19. the reason i have three volume swas mainly looking for something interesting to do with the controls... then i cam up with the idea fo three volumes and it sounded kinda cool its just so i can make up my own combinations of pickups, before i could only get certain combinations, so now i can pick and choose whatever i like, like having the bridge and neck ones on at the same time, or the bridge amd middle with *some* bridge pickup added a slice of cheesecake to paul for getting it right David
  20. if you want a password, send me a pm and i shall send you mine... David
  21. i want one of these wonderful mini keyboards basically any coolish mini keyboardy things i would be happy with David
  22. wouldnt there be some way of letting them delete the origonal post, which would in turn, delet the thread... i know thats how it works on a lot of other forums David
  23. i am currently trying to think up anything interesting to do with my old strat... i rewired it last week, so instead of having a 5 way, one volume, and two tone controls, it has three volumes (one for each pickup) and a kill switch took me a while, as i did some of it wrongly first try, then when i got it fixed i found out the way i had wired it up wouldnt work anyway... so had to redo some of it its all working now, the knobs are working backwards (which dosent bother me at all) and i forgot to ground the 'killed' positions on the kill switch, so it hums slightly. but nothing dangerous, so i will fix it next time i change the strings if i remember. im not sure how, but replacing the pots and rewiring it has made a drastic difference in the sound, for the better... David
  24. they guy that designed most of the pedals (a chap called howard davis) posts on harmony central, not sure if he still works for EHX though... register on hc and send him a pm, he knows prety much everything about the older pedals (well he did design them...) David
