It was an immense gig, such a great atmosphere and an amazing set! Gutted we won't be getting a repeat just now, but fingers crossed that the willingness to play again resurfaces when the logistics are more in everyone's favour
-
Yes. Currently contemplating ATP's Nightmare Before Christmas...
-
Probably Tetsuo and Snake Of June, they both rate quite highly for me.
-
Really looking forward to this, FANGS were on top form supporting Sons and Daughters last year - Plus Tim Simenon of Bomb The Bass fame is producing their upcoming album. Can't wait!

I don't care how much my wallet just got ass-raped, I'm off to see the Sunday show in Edinburgh
-
I'll also submit:
-
I've got that one, too. Works fine, no real problems. Basic deck, easy to plug in and record. Software comes with it, plus decent instructions. Should be pretty much what you're looking for!

I think Gomo's sounds better. It's a bit like a darker version of Domo.

Vetiver + Adrian Crowley @ The Tunnels, 31st May

Get in! I've almost worn out my Long Distance Swimmer album, but it should last to that gig OK... -
Stripey's on the money, there's no lazy comparison going on - Intelligent Design is Creationism and likewise only accepts one "Intelligent Designer", and that's the Christian God. It's scientifically vacuous. ID deliberately misrepresents evolution in order to drive a wedge of doubt in to an established theory, but offers nothing of any credence in return. If you have the time, I'd recommend searching out the full decision in the Kitzmiller Vs Dover Area School District trial from 2005, it's a fun read (Full text linked from bottom of Wikipedia entry - Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

There's a load of great stories on the web about previews for Expelled. They went out of their way to exclude vocal internet bloggers from attending previews after attracting a bad review, but despite managing to keep PZ Meyers (from excellent web resource, Pharyangula) from entering the cinema they completely failed to recognise his friend, a one Richard Dawkins. Oops. For those interested in how obscenely awful this move is, check out Expelled Exposed

Yup, you're sorely mistaken. Elizium was always heavin' at Dr Drakes.
-
By all means convince them to come along. We're a friendly, if slightly ecclectic, bunch
-
Elizium's been upsetting goths for many years - We have a website, too, at ELIZIUM | NM4NP Next Elizium is Saturday the 3rd of May, The Tunnels, 11pm till 3am. There's playlists up so you can see how much we're likely to fit your needs, but I'd say we veer more towards industrial and electronics than eyeliner and batcapes.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Glasgow Academy 4th May
nullmouse replied to french_disko's topic in Music Discussion
Unfortunately a small situation has arisen that means I am unable to attend the Glasgow gig. So no lift for you, matey. Were I still going, you and your missus would have been welcome to the lift -

Dirty Hearts Club Cancelled Last Night...

Big thanks to all at Snafu that worked so hard to keep everything going for as long as humanely possible, it was much appreciated. -
FELIX KUBIN, somewhere, THURS 20TH MARCH!!
nullmouse replied to Dizzy Storm's topic in Music Discussion
Leaving the club into the snow was kind of magical, as if to give the night a happy ending. Gah, I feel really bad for Snafu, and also gutted that we only got a few tunes from Felix before the place had to be evacuated. Terribly endearing to see Felix on the water-soaked dancefloor alone, clutching a rose and serenading the packed-together throng by the sound-desk. I think he appreciated the absurdity of the situation, in some weird way. He certainly was incredibly enthusiastic about recording the sounds of devastation the flood created - Probably the kind of live album Snafu would prefer not to appear on, though. -
FELIX KUBIN, somewhere, THURS 20TH MARCH!!

From Alex Denney's Drowned in Sound review of the One More Grain, Silver Apples and Felix Kubin gig in London last wednesday: "Watching Felix Kubin, most famously of 80s noiseniks Klangkrieg, flit excitably between keyboard and sequencer, its impossible to shake the image of Antoine de Caunes (he of Eurotrash notoriety) hamfistedly spoofing Kraftwerk. Suave and yet wearing the expression of a man for whom absurdity is always lurking round the corner, his self-professed Dada-electronics have found illustrious company in labelmates Mouse On Mars, although in truth Kubins pumped-up blend of kraut and techno influences is somewhat sunnier of aspect than the aforementioned duo, brimming with cute touches that immediately endear him to this evenings apparently hard-to-please audience." FELIX KUBIN, somewhere, THURS 20TH MARCH!!
nullmouse replied to Dizzy Storm's topic in Music Discussion
Getting substantially close enough to make me excited now! "I am a child living in the body of Juri Gagarin. He is empty like a corpse. His eyes move slowly like radars. First comes the idea then the technology. Children are angels, sometimes they fall into nothingness. I am Juri's ventriloquist." - Felix Kubin -
Sweet - Again, didn't know of either of those. Deathrock looks especially interesting, will have to get my hands on a copy and see if it's worth subscribing.

Yeah! That's the one. Admittedly not a very big peice, but we hadn't actively sought out to be included and didn't honestly think we were known outside of Aberdeen. It was a great wee surprise. Cheers also for the ZigZag and Punk Lives links, I've been trawling them this morning!
