Since when was Villa and Newcastle a rivalry? I dunno. I've got one Villa-supporting mate who' absolutely obsessed with Newcastle. Any time we talk football he brings-up how they're a bigger club, how much more success they've had over the years, etc. Completely without provocation. Then he dives into the "Newcastle fans have ridiculous expectations" thing, again without provocation. It's kind of adorable, really.

It's different for individual fans to dislike particular clubs, but when a made-up rivalry becomes commonplace among the club's supporters, it is bizarre. Stoke fans seem to have done it with just about every club in the Premier League. They just hate everyone who is coming to town, because they are geographically secluded, so don't have any real rivalries in the top flight. Not since they stopped having regular fixtures against Crewe. They've decided they proper hate Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Arsenal. The latter is probably because Big Bad Aaron Ramsey viciously swung his shin into Shawcross' studs. Reckless. It could have forced Shawcross to have to change boots mid-game, or at least replace a stud. Fortunately it was just Ramsey's leg that broke in three. Justice.
Soda Jerk
Anyway. Lemonade's post reminded me that it's that time of year where clubs unveil their new shirts, which usually look an awful lot like their current shirt. Look at these shirts for 16/17 which look almost identical to this season's shirts: Everton have tactfully removed the subtle V neck, and made it in to a round neck. Everything else is identical. Sunderland's Adidas decor is now gold instead of white. Everything else is as is. They'll continue to circle the drain wearing this. I actually don't know what is different about this one. Did this season's shirt have a collar? I can't remember. All I notice here is that Vardy is not wearing his armband, that he probably uses for banging shit-chatters. The football shirt business is morally bankrupt. £70 for a t shirt that looks the same as this season's t shirt, with an ethically questionably company blazed on the front. Usually a gambling website, or fucking WONGA.

Soda Jerk
True. Apart from Jamie Vardy. Everyone above has their chest puffed out, looking like an athlete. Jamie Vardy looks like he's waiting at the school gates, sticking up for his younger brother, waiting for the gobshite who was pushing him about at break time. Jamie's gonna give him a kicking. You don't mess with t'Vardys mate.

Murrr
That collar is fucking quality. Love a proper collar on a football shirt: definitely brings an air of class to the thing (if such a thing is possible for a football shirt). Shirts without collars look like generic gym attire nine times out of ten, IMO.
Soda Jerk
That shirt looks great. Pin stripes are the best. I'm in the pro-collar camp as well, but a solid v-neck is great too. Though v-necks can go too far: State of that. Crew-necks are just t-shirts. Also the button-up no-collar shirt is pointless. Like this: What's the point? Lemonade
Maybe if the Dons players didn't have the top button done up like hipster wankers, and if the collar wasn't so WHITE I'd be a bit more sold on it. Murrr
If I'm being snobbish, it's the two different tones of red (or two different types of material) that stop me going all-in on this shirt. That aside, it's the best Dons top in my lifetime.
Captain America
I think that shirt would be great if the shoulders weren't a different colour? New Dundee United kits are boring as. Adidas make the best ones IMO.
Soda Jerk
Sorry to de-rail the kit talk, but how about this BOMB at Old Trafford? Proper weird. Stan Collymore was raging about it on Talksport last night and how it all seems like a bullshit story. I've got my tinfoil hat ready, and I'm taking his side, because it seems more fun than what is being unearthed as the truth. It went from being a suspicious package to elaborate hoax pretty quickly, then 6 hours later it turned out to be a training device from training held at the ground earlier that week. Training that nobody in the ground appeared to know about nor could then put 2 and 2 together to have the device identified before having to bring in 300 coppers and the MILITARY to dispose of the suspected bomb? So, this 3rd party security company supposedly carried out training in Old Trafford and didn't take an inventory check on their departure? A company that specialises in security just left an item that looks like a BOMB lying around? I remember being at school and if all the microscopes didn't get handed back in at the end of Science, you didn't get to go home. Yet this lot all sauntered out of the ground whilst something that looks like remarkably a bomb (and is supposedly an almost perfect replica right down to the materials used as it used to train sniffer dogs) is left behind? Did the ground staff involved in the BOMB TRAINING mid-week not think it was a bit weird how (what was originally believed to be) AN ACTUAL BOMB had then been discovered on the next possible matchday? Not one person in the ground were able to make that link before it reached the stage it did? Did they just think "Good job we did that bomb training on Tuesday, guys. This'll be a piece of piss."? The partial evacuation was absolutely the right thing to do in the first instance. But surely, someone somewhere must have been able to make the link between the supposed training and the package being discovered, and the item could have been identified as a training package before having to waste resources on literally hundreds of police offers and the bomb squad having to attend. Not to mention the travelling supporters who have all been sent packing. Most exciting thing to happen to United this season. I hope it's some sort of shady cover up for someone dropping a massive clanger. I'm fully in the camp that it is.

Lemonade
This 2 tone beauty was my favourite Dons shirt of recent years. Collar and all. I wore it to nearly every home game that season then retired it at the end of the season by sending it away with a mate who was moving home to Spain. I'm currently rocking this number with pride. REPRESENTING. Edited May 16, 2016 by Lemonade
Soda Jerk
At Battle at the Bridge - the game where Spurs had 9 players booked and Dembele retrospectively banned for violent conduct, and Chelsea had 3 players booked - Chelsea have been fined £150k more than Spurs. Soda Jerk
What else were they fined for, other than the game against Arsenal with the Gabriel/Costa debacle? I genuinely can't remember any others.

ca_gere
If that happens I'll be betting on Newcastle to win the prem in 2017/2018. Not even joking. Proper manager at a club that should be big, starting from the beginning.
