strat parts wanted

Ive almost finished the strat im building but im in need of some upgrades and replacements. Cheers in advance.

Firstly a new pickguard 10 hole one any ply will do

a set of single coils preferably "hot" ones

a strat bridge maybe a wilkinson one

and some locking tuners and an extra long set of strings. This strat has a bigsby and a reverse neck

I've got white and cream 3 ply pickguards 1 black 3 ply.

Start bridge got a Floyd rose and a Wilkinson y.screw term in gold.

Floyd rose has a locking.nut.

ill take a white pickguard, how much you looking for it? also i had a spare bridge in my house so im sorted for that. any pickups lying around in the cupboard of yours?

The Bigsby won't work, you need a roller bridge really. How are you going to string it, for instance.

I have a plan i was planning on drilling holes on the end of the bridge next to the screws for adjusting the saddle so the strings intonation can still be adjusted. Alinging tge bigsby with the bridge im still working on

Not meaning to sound high and mighty here but all you're going to do is wreck the bridge so it isn't really 'worth a try'. I can't see the picture as I'm at work but isn't your bigsby one for a tele?

You're gonna have a massive hole in the middle of the guitar - a hole that used to have a big lump of metal under tension which resonated and helped your guitar sound good. Once it's not under tension (cos the bigsby's taking the strain) it'll just rattle.

In order to get it to work, you really need something like this:

 

 

In all honesy, I would just use the Stratocaster tremolo and save the Bigsby for something else.

I think the Bigsby on the strat idea is cool (Ry Cooder uses one, so it can't be so bad), so I wanna see this work out.

 

I reckon the bodge conversion is fairly doable... you were thinking something similar to this?

 

I'd just spring for the proper roller bridge though.  Way easier.

A Mustang bridge would probably work.

If YoungA is to go down this route, he has to make sure that the bridge has the same radius as the neck of the guitar, else he wont be able to adjust the string height accordingly. I think that the strings wont line up correctly along the neck too.

 

For example, Mustang bridges (barring the new squier ones) are 7.25" radius and most modern Strat necks will be 9.5".

Sounds like a lot of hassle to make your strat look crap mate haha rip it off and let your playing do the talking! Or push the neck forward... Gently! ;-)
