misterdale
Roddy Woomble and friendsTuesday 25th July - The Lemon TreeTickets 15 (10 concessions & Regulars)Doors Open: 7.30pmShow Starts: 8pmBorn in 1976 in the west of Scotland, Roddy travelled extensively through his childhood, living in France and the United States before settling in Edinburgh to study photography, where he met his Idlewild band mates. After stints in both London and New York City, Roddy now lives in Glasgow.Idlewild are well known for their musical journey and evolvement, from the loud abrasive punk rock of their early records to the country and folk leanings of their last offering - 2005's 'Warnings/Promises' (which saw them headline the second stage at the Cambridge Folk Festival). Always very vocal about his love of traditional Scottish folk music as well as groups such as Fairport Convention and the Incredible String Band, Roddy has decided to take time out from Idlewild to collaborate on an album's worth of songs that take these influences and mix them with Idlewild's trademark soaring melodies and thoughtful lyrics.Lemon Tree website

offramp
Still not a fan of the seats though. Too compact.
Jamie
Yeah, well it was a bit of a conumdrum for us whether to go seated for this show or not, and it did seem a bit odd for some of Foxface's songs and the heavier moment of Roddy's set, but I definately think it focuses people's attention more for the quieter tunes (and makes folk less prone to talk during them).
