stuartmaxwell
glasgow is pretty sweet for postering, most chippies/venues/bars/shops/unis let you put up posters (particularly the west end)as for tickets, its the ones that richard mentionedyour best bet is to get in touch with a few of the pros. they will set you straight. ross (ex moshulu/rfr now tuts) will be ale to tell you everything you need to know if he has two mins to spare)
Alex
If you're talking about spending cash, a couple of my friends do postering for a few clubs, I could prod them. Otherwise, just all the 13th notey/mono/sleazies places.
Porter
There is also Studio One and I'd recommend talking to the staff at the GUU and QMU as they may well help you to advertise. Mono and 13th note are probably your best bet.xxx
bryn
QMU is a good option. Where is the gig being held?

Alex
Do you know craig hand? - sure he's doing that course. If so, check with him, he'll be a decent source of advice.
Spoonie
QMU is a good option. Where is the gig being held?if it's outwith the QMU, you'll not be able to poster for it in the QM as it's a "rival" event. go with the general shops in the west end which lots of students frequent, as maxi suggested. /x

Aileen
DEFINITELY try the Basement Bar on Byres Road - total hot spot for students and their walls are plastered with gig posters!!!and to reinforce what spoonie said, i would also avoid flyering in the QMU, they don't like that too much eitherjust ask jamesy... in fact, they don't like it much if you flyer outside eitherthe QMU are a whole bundle of hostility right thereavoid it like the plague...!
