He at least didn't dress up as a clown and then hide the bodies of his victims under his floorboards a la Gacy.

I've always had a fear of clowns...

Craig and Brian's Fudge Awards costumes did not help.[/color']

Yeah, I hate clowns. I do like Acid Bath though!

It does seem to be a bit of a common misconception that the war on Iraq is what started hostility towards America.

American military aggression has been a consistent feature in 20th century world history. America has used missiles or bombs on around 22 countries since the end of WWII.

going out on a slightly different limb here.. aren't 'americans' just britons who killed off the native americans?

Not just Britons, but in part yes. They then settled in America and became 'americans', hence why thats the word I use when I describe that particular group of people. If you want to call them 'British Settlers' then fair enough. You're right though, America is a country pretty much based on the slaughter of North American tribes.

I call people of either gender dude. It's a bad habit I know, but I wasn't assuming you were male.

I think my loathing of them was exacerbated when my "friends" cottoned onto the fact that I really hated the front cover of "It" and started leaving the vhs of it lying around somewhere they knew I'd see it.

I still don't like it, but I'm slightly less creeped out by it knowing that it's darling Tim Curry behind that nasty clown exterior.

Buggers!

The clown on the front of the Acid Bath cover was painted by JW Gacy. I watched a documentary on him. He was seriously disturbed.

By the way, you gave me an ace idea for a thread. Cheers! (see Most Controversial Album Covers.) Your not just a pretty face.

I think Rachel is a nice name.

meaning of the name 'rachel'= hebrew for ewe/innocent as a lamb.. i am a sheep.

and! according to the bible, i'm jesus's grandmother.. but the favourite of all of jacob's wives..

rachel just seems like such an un-feminine name. when my parents picked it they wanted something that sounded 'strong' (ie. manly). they turned down roxanne.

My mum picked it because at the time there were relatively few Rachels kicking about. Apparently every other mother in the world that year thought the same thing.

Innocent as a lamb indeed.

As a resident at the nursing home I used to work at used to remind me virtually every day: "Rachel... good strong biblical name that..."

Leah definitely lost out. Poor lass.

its accually SCOTLAND is now statisticly the most violent country on the world (apperently), not in killing, raping or gary glitters but in assults and GBH, for the low population we have a higher risk of being attacked than any other country!

oh and if you say you like americans then you have never been on Xbox Live then.

Speaking from personal experience here, and Sevilla is chock-a-block with Americans, be it students or tourists, I have no desire to speak to any after hearing one pathetic conversation after another in Internet cafes, the street, in class, etcetera between groups of annoyingly loud stupid valley girls.

Having said that, there were a couple of thoroughly decent chaps in one of my history classes, I do recall

To be honest, any problems I have with America are not aimed at the people, it is the governments and wars created.

1) Iraq- The majority of 9/11 bombers were from Saudi so lets go attack Iraq! em....ok?!

2) Hiroshima/Nagasaki (sp)- Lets bomb innocent people.

3) WW2- Lets watch the world fight each other then only join in when we are attacked.

4) North Korea- em, look at my second point.

5) Syria, Iran etc- What makes the US a power above other countries to dish out warnings and to tell other countries what they can and cannot do? The US always seems to splinter away from other countries and organisations because they take responsibility for things that are either none of there business or should be decided by other countries who end up not getting a say.

6) Vietnam- A prime example of my 5th point.

That is basically all my problems with the US in a nutshell and its all to do with the goverments/leaders etc. Some people get this mixed up and end up blaming all Americans for governments decisions which is unfair IMHO.

apparently, the majority of americans can't point to america on a map.... they usually point to china 'cause it's the biggest country. o_O
