Guest DustyDeviada
5. Cliff Richard - New Years Prayer (for the gut wrenching "and lead us not into the time of trial" part)It's called "The Millenium Prayer" for Cliff's sake.Everyone knows that the Pogues one is the best, but I do enjoy the Mike Oldfield version of In Dulci Jubilo, especially when the electric guitar comes in at the end and also Bowie and Bing doing Little Drummer Boy, the video being a particularly cheese-fest.I'd forgotten about the Beck track, was it ever released properly? I think I got it on a free CD on the front of Select magazine.

daveladocus
i agree that the pogues' one is the best, but 'hating you for christmas' by everclear is also ace. otherwise they all annoy me: do u think santa died on the cross so that we could listen to mariah carey every year? Marsh
Craig Phillips - At This Time Of Year. (Big Brother 1 winner)The thought that he got a £500,000, 5 - album recording contract and gave singing out of tune a bad name must make him happy every Christmas.Punk as fuck.Read this if you're in need of a laugh - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/1021337.stm"When I heard Craig sing I was amazed. Now I am convinced we've got a number one Christmas single on our hands," It got to number 86 or something. He does DIY shows on daytime TV nowadays.Back to the Christmas songs, though - Fairytale of New York is unbeatable. It has everything you need in a Christmas song. I love Jimmy Dean from the Manics' version of "Last Christmas."I love the galloping bassline and chiming bells on "Do They Know It's Christmas" (The original version of course) John & Yoko do a great job with War Is Over. And Roy Wood and Noddy Holder always make you feel Christmassy.
