bryn
Slap bass is the coolest - also fun for ten minutes, then i go back to playing guitar
bryn
"The bass is easy to play"mwahahaha, ur funny kideveryone always gets locked into that perception. Bass isnt easy, its as difficult as any instrument. Its easy to be Mark Hoppus or the fat guy from newfoundglory (but then, they are shit bassist), go listen to stanley clarke or victor wooten..... Leckie Gilman
but to be fair, like the simple stuff on ANY intrument is a peice of piss which includes bass.
bryn
Piano is easy, so long as im only playing 'chopsticks'

Jimmygoodein
good call bryn. and another thing to Nicky, im short, leckie is short, victor wooten is short, anthony wellinghton is short. so i dont see how you have to be really tall to be a bassist

bassmaster_steve
Bass is awesome, i agree you will never really get everything out of a bass until you start to learn some awesome bass licks, like metallica Blitzkreig, or am I evil even thought they are really covers done by metallica origanally done by the likes of Diamond head. but i have been playing bas for a year, and blink and alkaline trio are really good to play and learn but get a bit repeatative after a while so i like to make my own riffs to them its well fun. Nicky Ca$ino
Ah yes, you all may be short/average (height) but I'm betting you're all "stunna"s. And if you're not, go find yourselves a couple of sticks and a bisciut tin. *Deep intake of breath; get ready for the backlash (or back beat *[arf!])
Davey Boy
everyone always seems to overlook les claypool. he defined a bass as something is wasnt and now can be! a lead instrument.

bryn
"he defined a bass as something is wasnt and now can be! a lead instrument"I thought that for a while, its true, but a lot his stuff is very stanley clarke-ish
Dan G
John Myung.Awesome.Bass is an extremely important of a band, but there's no way I'd fancy being a bassist, I'd rather get some credit

Ian-The-Bassist
I play bass, but i've been playing a lot more guitar recently when i've been writing music.Same with i'm concentrating alot more on lyrics than i used to.So i think it's not really cool, but it's good enough for rock and roll. Guest Scott 5FD
bass is great, it makes the floor shake and stuff.i can play 'easy' and more technical stuff, but i prefer to play simpler stuff coz its more fun and you can jump, run around and shit.
