The goalkeepers are under relatively no pressure, where as the takers, highlighted most prominantly by the italian paper's crucificion of Shevchenko, are. Most penalties are only saved by the luck of which direction the keeper chooses to go before the ball is struck. There is a certain fairness in that, although I still think penalties, entertaining as they are, are not way to determin the champions of europe.
