Gig was cool. Weird being in Toms with some many people. Much amusement from the "free gifts pot." Project Ven Hell vocals...those certainly freaked me out. Smackdown were cool. I didn't know anything about them but there were plenty of good foot tapping bits intertwined with some crazyness, nice. Getting to know the WSBB songs better each time I see/hear them...shame about Rennies guitar though :help:

I just discovered that The Cure For Cancer now posses a spiky chunk of wood from the neck which shall be used to imaple children on.

it's worrying me how 'scene' WSBB already are - half the 'crowd' was just sitting in the corridor doing nothing while the first 2 bands are on. I would expect to see that natch at a bigger gig in a real venue because it always happens, but on this occaision in a tiny punk rock gig in a little rehearsal room with abotu 25 people present? Totally disgraceful stuff.

For once I totaly agree with you, but hey anyone who stood out in the corridor intentionaly (read not wanting to see the band) missed out. So it's their loss.

well, yeah, whatever...woulda been cool if the room had been absolutely packed, but i didnt notice too much when Smackdown were on cause i was too busy enjoying them! and Smackdown thought it was a really cool show, had a really good time in aberdeen and were very happy

all that really matters is that a great group of swedish people got to come to aberdeen/scotland/uk (for the first time) and play their music...and we got to witness it. thats it.

Oops that last post sounded a bit bitchy.... didn't mean it like that.

Haha I hope the singer bought some new trousers with whatever extra money they got, or even some thread....

Anyone else had a spin of the 7" they had?? It's actualy replaced Das Oath s/t in terms of that kind of punk for me...

haven't given it a blast yet, as i'm moving into my new flat on friday and haven't got my deck set up. They seem very much in the same vein as Das Oath, I'd say I even prefer them in some ways. Incidentally can someone explain the situation with Das Oath and The Oath. They're the same band right? Were they not originally called Das Oath and then changed to The Oath, and are now back to Das Oath or something? Or is it like an alter ego thing?

I thought the gig was awesome. Loved The Smackdown and Blessed. Not a PVH fan though. Rennie's guitar death was pretty special too.

Thanks to the Arkade folks for putting that on for us, it makes a change to go to gigs like that where people are actually there to listen to bands and not just show face.

aye, it was a very good night.loved van hell and that faggot heinz, what a great band live.the smackdown were brilliant, stupid dancing, no practised moves in sight and inspired banter ie.sorry, sorry, sorry, apologies for my cock, shut up.muchos fun.really didnt like we shall be blessed, not a bad band at all but pretty much displayed everything i dislike about modern day fashioncore.

been speaking for years about how stale and uninventive aberdeen is in terms of venues used etc compared to other cities and this was definately a step in the right direction, cool gig and big well done slap on the back to all involved.
