lepeep
Oh Me Oh My...1 and a half hours of bliss.they played heaps of ace tunes, especially dragonfly, big news (1 & 2), swolen goat, shogun named marcus, 12 ounce epilogue...oh, the list goes on...one note of interest, nothing from "pure rock fury"...which I was quite glad of !they did play 2 new songs, the are groovy, "release the dogs" (if that's what it's called) was ace, but the other, I can't really remember...a shame.Fallon was on top form, but getting a bit pissed of with the drunken crowd, methinks. ("we travel miles, to amazing countries, just to watch people get drunk").5 horse johnson were good too, a dab of AC/DC, a smattering of aerosmith (in the non pretentious fashion)...and a big boned singer with a mouth organ (and clutch's drummer sitting in for them).Gig = 9 out of
Michael MacLennan
Got my ticket today, can't wait to actually see Clutch headlining, and not confined to a smaller supporting performance... if they play Big News 1&2 on Sunday I'll cream myself, ditto A Shotgun Named Marcus, Spacegrass and Animal Farm, though I do hope they'll play Red Horse Rainbow... medichi
There's a new track on the MetalHammer Cd this month. Very nice it is too.LePeep, how can you diss Pure Rock Fury - the title track ALONE is awesome!
lepeep
I don't diss Pure Rock Fury....I just don't rate it...seems to me, and a few pals, that this lp "was for the kids"...when metal was starting to take off again...I wished they kept going the way the seem to have come back to....a bit "too metal" from a not so "metal" band, it's all about the rock.
