  1. touched to hear so many good words said about the man. as we're reminiscing - I've seen him a few times since the 80's but remember the impact he had from sitting on the edge of the stage at the music hall (mid 90's maybe, they all merge into one) unassuming while his band kick off, smiling at the audience before he gets up and cranks off. as was said a flawed but great song writer. Lady day and john coltrane playing at the jazz cafe. all getting heavy play at the mo......

  5. village sunsets village sunsets | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos has used collieston hall, newburgh hall and udny arms hotel. these small venue's in villages are some of the best gigs i've been to when packed, everyone up dancing type of thing. but numbers vary radically from packed out to not! depending on who fell out with who and if a load of 'outsiders' come!! so not doing many now. village sunsets is about bringing music to the doorsteps of folk in north aberdeenshire. grass roots. unfortunately we've not used enough local acts as a lot come from spots at festivals etc and global world roots (so lots of american and african type thing) to get folk up dancing. but paddy rasta, aka ska, the lorelei and gerry jablonski were ace!
  6. Hit me with a lick onetime stick This is still an open enquiry. If you just wanna come along and have a try out were always recording or rehearsing at captain tom's so we cab easily make a slot for a chat and a jam. Cheers

  9. Bad sound does spiral the gig downwards especially with thx time changes when your feeling as miserable as I was. So apologies for being a miserable ....But it's strange I have to be honest I just didn't enjoy playing which is rare for me but probably as I was getting over a virus but then I go and listen to the video's and it sounds fine and kind of fun. A good bunch of folk. Perceptions eh!? We all have them. Maybe we should keep them more to ourselves. As Although we had a laugh playing trad and folkie stuff that was just for fun the weird funky stuff I prefer by far but others think the other way. Like I prefer the melodic stuff seas, starry do. Really enjoyed those tunes. Stretch them out longer guys!! And Alan it sounded fine to me as I was standing right beside you. You didn't need a pa!! Cheers and thanks. May you be blessed with many more gigs! Perceptions eh!?

  18. I've only ever busked twice and it was recently. I just had to give it a go as you do. Both times after very drunken drummonds gig. Just up on union street. Daryl with his accordion and me on guitar. Jesus the crazy ass folk that come by. Talk madness and dance aboot. An eye opener. And yes we were probably just as bad being bleezin' Acid must be given out free in the local night clubs.

As he picked up a few. If I discover any similar I'll email. I want that a bigger auto harp with more than 8 chords!
