  1. She never paid us a penny :(

But told us we'd definitely get a gig at the Doghouse again, on a better slot, busier venue etc etc. Never happened.

She recently tried to get Sanctuary down, but on an even worse deal, fuck that! Is a shame though, cause it always seemed a busy venue. Hopefully someone will take it over and run it properly.

  2. My only encounter was turning up to the Doghouse for a gig and Sarah going "who are you?" "The Underkills" "Oh, eh, who?" "The Underkills, spoke to you a couple of days ago" "Oh, yeah, um, hold on a minute" Comes back about 10 minutes later to tell us we're soundchecking now, and we'll be on at 7.30 as soon as doors open cos they've booked 5 bands instead of 4.

Doghouse with 10 people in it is (was) amazing. :)

We went down with ABDC a few years ago on the agreement of 300 plus a rider, she said thats all she could pay cause we couldn't guarantee a crowd, and we had to provide support as well. Turns out she sold 200 tickets at 8 a pop, plus more through the door, we never got a penny more, she wouldn't even give our support a rider, and we weren't allowed anyone on a guest list.

  3. Well after checking out Hot Mangu @ The Lemon Tree we decided to be adventurous and head into town for a few more scoofs. Can anyone tell me when O'Neils became so shit? It used to be a regular haunt of mine until afew years ago, but now I spend most of my time out in either in The Globe, Lemon Tree or Drummonds. I can't believe how poor O'Neils was, the drink and service was poor, the music was total pants and the DJ was an absolute Bell End! Whats goin on?

  4. Most of a musician's playing time is spent in practise whether beginner or top flight or somewhere in between. Presumably its ok to do this in the kitchen, living room, etc. just not in the bedroom or you're in mortal danger of never being seen or heard of again....

In all fairness I think all Mr.Scotland wants is a few people to play with who have some experience and can play a bit rather than complete beginners (?). The wording just makes it sound too exclusive and arsey.

Baz you're my hero mate. At last some sense spoken on the AMF

  5. By top flight I mean guys who can actually play better than a complete beginner.

I have wasted so much time with guys who "think" they can play but in reality are nowhere near the standard to entertain properly. Bedroom players generally end up staying in the bedroom, players on the other hand entertain.

So what you're saying is that there is only Beginners or Top flight players, nothing in between? What a load of poopding!

  6. I believe the joey jordison sig is 13.5 and 6.5 deep. Not sure though ?(

It's 13 x 6.5, I had one until last year and sold it cause I got hold of an Ian Paice sig model and have regreted letting it go ever since!

  7. I am looking to add a deeper snare to my collection. Am in particular looking for a Joey Jordison sig, but failing that would look at a Mapex Black Panther (wood or metal). Would consider 13 or 14" dia as long as the depth was at least 5.5".

I know this is a long shot. but if anyone knows of anything let me know.

    Cheers

    Tunker

  8. bugger that, not the same thing but i have a pal who is a nurse and she tells all the stories of people coming in with things attached they can't get off or people who put things up their pooper! One person apparently put a pint glass up there and it created a vacuum so they couldnt get it back out. they smashed it and got left with broken glass up there.

made a note to myself that day not to try that no matter how drunk i ever get

Lame guitarist, we all know that was you, not a story from a friend! Thats why you couldn't sit properly in the van last time we went to Glasgow!

  9. You do realise that you could have just reported the threat to the mods and he'd have probably have been banned for at least a while. At minimal he'd be given a verbal dressing down by Glossy Sack.

I didn't realize that no, I shall remember that in the future. That would have been a far more sensible solution

  10. I think unleashing a flurry of "Twat" this and "Twat" that on the Internet doesn't really put you in a better light than him.

Besides, I think everyone is entitled to a negative opinion of Oasis. Afterall, it's been about 15 years, and the cunts just won't fuck off.

Well you know, I do sort of agree with you, I have lowered myself on this occassion, but I've been forced into it cause I'm pretty pissed that someone is threatening me (ha ha) over the internet. Anyone who knows me, will realize this ain't normally my style. But afterall this is surely a place for expressing you're opinion, and that is my opinion! If someone wants to call me a twat on here, I'll take it on the chin, I won't go running looking to fight them. If folk cant take the criticism back, they shouldn't go posting negative and aggressive posts in the first place

  11. Juicebox just PM'd me offering me a square go, for a comment I made about him where I called him a Twat. Very intelligent behaviour that ain't it! But the thing is, he is a twat, a 24 carrot twat at that. If anyone was reading his comments yesterday regarding the Oasis tribute, and his views on the band and music as a whole, I think everyone would agree, he is a twat as well. I think the point I'm trying to put accross is that I think Juicebox is a TWAT!
