  1. Despite it's mexican-ness, that is smart.
  2. Who was the kid who was ludicrously young and could play Vai as well as Vai, but then went loco in true child star and gave up playing? Think he was from/ ended up in Newcastle mad as a fuck. Any ideas? YouTube - 8 year old guitar Virtuoso = This is my personal favourite guitar prodigy video; the tune he breaks into with the band is Racer X's "Frenzy", the opening assault off the Street Lethal record, for all those uneducated amongst you. Fucking amazing wee fella though; he's even got the Paul Gilbert pick noise and everything. Dirty bastard.

  5. p.s. How dreadful is that "serious" Dragonforce "Betcha can't....." video? Conclusive proof that they are a couple of shitebag charlatans if ever there was any doubt, particularly gimp no.2. His chops are unspeakably bad; the best bit was when he slowed it down and still couldn't play what he was attempting.
  6. I really like Million Dead and Frank Turner and particularly the Smiths, but that cover version is fucking chronic as a cover or as a piece of music of any description.
  7. Just read this on UGS; apparently it's their booking stipulations and guarantees etc- might be worth a look/ laugh for anyone even vaguely interested in this gig on any level, particularly whoever is thinking about booking it; "We have two ways of booking this show: 1 Way: *The bands play for 100% of the door after break even with 20 euro (or the equivalent in whatever currency is used) tickets/entrance fee. Promoter supplies proper P.A and Rider. 2nd Way: *The band gets a guarantee of 3500 euro + 25% of the door after break even. Venue/promoter supplies proper P.A and Rider. Note: The bands bring full backline. Venue/promoter must provide a proper P.A and sound engineer that is not retarded, deaf or can't speak English! Also if the venue does not have a shower, Venue/promoter must also pay for a hotel room nearby where we can get cleaned up. The venue MUST have a backstage with room enough for both bands The venue MUST have a stage; we don't play on the fucking floor! The venue MUST have a space set up for our merch with proper lights One (1) Local act is allowed as support, but to be honest, its not needed Rider: 1 Hot meal pr travelling member, MEAT no vegetarian crap! All beverages are to be served COLD!even the red wine. 2 Large pizzas with MOZZARELLA cheese, tomato/marinara sauce, and pizza dough. 2 750 ml (or litre) bottle of Jim Beam (or 3 Litres of Jack Daniels) 1 Case of Guinness and 3 cases of high quality local beer with a minimum alcohol percentage of 4.5% 44 Drink tickets if show is at a place that has a bar 12 Cans or bottles of sprite or ginger ale (super important, Seth cant sing without this) 26 Cans or bottles of coke (plastic bottles will not do!) 24 Bottles of spring water and 2 bottles of cheap-ass red wine with a minimum alcohol percentage of 12% 2 Pack's of Marlboro lights cigarettes, 10 big towels, plenty of ice cubes, cups, various sweets and snacks "
  8. Felt really bad for the USA in the confederations cup final; they were excellent for the first half but just seemed to tire in the second. Their second goal was wonderfully worked and finished though; excellent to watch. As were the South African free kick and Guiza's second goal in the third place play- off, assuming the latter was deliberate! Lovely stuff. Good omens for next year all round, except for those mad horns. But their annoyance factor dulls after a couple of games so I'm sure we'll all survive.

    Your current read?

I've been reading "Meetings with Morrissey" by Len Brown extremely intermittently since Christmas. Bizarrely I can't seem to make myself sit down and keep reading it, even though when I do, I enjoy it.
  10. I like how he's wearing a little Mike Skinner shirt whilst doing his little Mike Skinner impression in the middle of this song. I also like that its about the tackling the corporations or big brother or something; lovely and original sentiment. p.s. Scott- good shout on Prince. On the same note, I'd like to add Vanity 6- Nasty Girl to our already comprehensive list of pop tuneage; excellent little ditty.
  11. da punx will be able to tell us that.
  12. Amazing response. I love you.
  13. I'd like to add Dizzee Rascal + Calvin Harris- Dance wiv me Justin Timberlake- Like I Love You/ Cry Me a River and a trio of ballads; Mr Big- To Be With You Extreme- More Than Words Whitesnake- Is This Love?
  14. p.s. Plenty of the ones mentioned earlier are awesome and definite shouts- MJ, Graceland, Phil Collins etc Kudos hombres.
  15. Duran Duran- Girls on Film, Rio Wham- Club Tropicana, Careless Whisper Frankie Goes to Hollywood- Two Tribes/ Welcome to the Pleasuredome Housemartins- Happy Hour Smiths- This Charming Man Jam- Town Called Malice New Order- Blue Monday/ True Faith Depeche Mode- Enjoy The Silence Pet Shop Boys- Suburbia/ It's A Sin Loads more, these are just the first ones that buzzed into my head.
  16. Only bad things happen on Ship Row it seems- i got a parking ticket there the last time we played at the Moorings.
  17. That is pretty much exactly what I answered in my last post. Allow me to be clear; this is a music discussion forum. This band, TRC, play music. People are discussing their music. I am one of these people. I am not trying to change the band, change your mind or change anything else. I am merely discussing the music that this band produces. I clearly do believe that TRC are not a very good band, as discussed above. I don't at all have a problem with what they wear; I also don't think it makes you a "chav" to wear a Ralph Lauren polo shirt, as it happens. However, I do think that in this case it's being used as a gimmick.
  18. Oh dear, you have criminally misunderstood what I am trying to say. Arguably my comments don't matter anyway. But in the same way that some bands play second hand Throwdown riffs and rap about being "better than you" and debate whether cockiness is still cockiness if you know that you are justified in your cockiness because they enjoy doing so and some other people also enjoy it, I think in the way I do because it satisfies me to do so and some other people enjoy reading the opinions of others. Where did I say anything about the techiness of the music? I love plenty of bands who have next to no technical ability; but they do have other qualities that I value when listening to music; such as passion, innovation or an agenda based on something more than conceitedness. I've been to enough "shows" (as they're called by their attendees) featuring bands of this ilk to know what I'm talking about, and made my judgement about "tough- guy" knuckle- dragging lowest common denominator "hardcore" long ago. p.s. Yes; music is a form of art. Well done. But art is constantly innovating and exploring new ground, and that fact renders your comparison as well as your "theres nothing new under the sun" point rather redundant.
  19. I've recently come round to the way of thinking that Tevez isn't actually as good as everyone seems to think. Fair enough; he puts himself about and doesn't stop running, but what is he actually achieving? Everyone thinks Berbatov is a lazy disappointment but there's some crazy stat kicking about that hes more assists than Tevez and (bafflingly) covered more yards in some games. I just think Berbas touch and control are wonderful to watch though, so I'd be happy to keep seeing him play (for anyone) even if he just stood in the one place and had to have the ball kicked directly at him. I do agree, however, that the way that Man United have treated Tevez is shabby and he has every right to want to go anywhere else where they'll pay for him (25m a bit much though, sure enough?). And what's more, his workrate would be cracking at Liverpool where he could be the ideal support striker for Torres, letting him fully work his magic......
  20. Whit? The whole thread about the fact is that TRC are A- N- OTHER generic chuggy downtuned metallic hardcore band, except this time they're wearing polo shirts and being upfront about being bampots. Their songs have even less substance than most of their knuckledragging compadres. It's not narrowminded to say this one branch of a sub- genre of a tired genre of music is rubbish and need not exist. Furthermore, I'm sure most of the people on this thread listen to a wide range of stuff, as I do, so once again narrowmindedness doesn't really come into it.
  21. This band are fucking dreadful though. Knuckleheaded, thoughtless, utterly derivative chug- core of the very worst and least imaginative variety!
  22. Aye, it is. Not perfect, but then again nor is anywhere that I've ever been.....
  23. Confusingly we sing that, where the "Dundee" we hate is Dundee FC rather than Dundee: City of Discovery, which I assume is what you mean.
