They (Blackstar) are made in Korea (I think); somewhere in the Far East for sure. I'd like to get my dirty mitts on; - Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Ltd Edition in orange w/ black racing stripes (!) - Orange Rockerverb 50 Head/ Combo - Another 2x12 cabinet with V30's (Never should have sold the MESA) - Another Fender Strat (A. Dlx or similar. Montego black w/ gold very much tickling my end also, either that or one of the now discontinued candy tangerines. Beautiful finish.) - A Fender Tele (see above) - Some kind of power supply that will always work as well as powering all my pedals at once (9, 12 and 18V with various + and - tippage). - I'd still like an acoustic piano despite the enormous practical impossibilities involved. - Martin acoustic guitar. - Adrian Smith signature Jackson Dinky (wooah) Doesn't look like much or any of this'll be likely in the next twelve months, but then again, who does it hurt to dream?

They're over- rated and hideously over- priced; Ibanez haven't built guitars that have represented good value (or even good guitars in most cases), especially considering the competition, for about 10 years. And this is speaking from experience, in case anyone with an Ibanez fires on greetin' cos "I like mine, and the neck is like sooooo fast dood". p.s. At least latterly they've gone back to using heroically bright and bold colour schemes. That period where every guitar they made was just either greyey- blacky- blue or black was as confusing as it was boring.

If you have a decent preamp and a good guitar, guitar rig is magic. Takes a little time to tweak it to find the right settings for each sound you desire, but once you're there you need never look back.

I thought that might have been it's title for a moment there. What's it called? Haven't heard it yet, and now'd be a good time as I'm in the midst of a major Moz/ Smiths marathon.

Gates are improving, as inevitably happens. I'd imagine that'll continue as long as we keep doing well and the Dees keep slumming it in the 1st. This is the exact same post I put on UGS, but fuck it; Inspirational second half performance from United yesterday; no one could've grumbled if we had ended up with all three points. Most encouraging of all to fellow arabs is the point excellently conveyed in today's Scotland on Sunday; that United now have proven themselves to have no reason to show deference to two teams whom we have proven we can match by doing so at each time of asking this season, and thus no reason we should be content to settle for a good third place. (I've paraphrased this from memory; the original was much more eloquent.) A push for second is maybe ambitious, especially with the vultures circling, but it is pleasing that the very notion of the Old Firm being challenged is now being considered in the press. Especially in the face of Strachan and Smith's ignorant, presumptuous arrogance.

If the offer is still open, I'm sure the rest of the swordsters and I would be more than happy to support. We actually have played with Blaze in a previous (band's) life, as it happens.

Contrary to one of the above posts, Kenny's in Dundee currently has quite a good and varied Gibson selection in. In fact, anything they don't have will be hard to come by (new anyway) in a hurry as Gibson's distribution system for the UK is very much still in it's infancy, and they simply don't have the necessary stock available to meet demand, even for their main dealers (like Kenny's).

Hello, I am looking to sell my Mesa Solo 50 Single Rectifier Head and the matching Angled, Standard 4x12 Cabinet. Both are in very good second hand condition; one vinyl corner loose and a couple scratches on the cab, nothing much on the head at all. I've also not long since revalved the head with standard Mesa 6L6 power tubes and thus she's sounding excellent, and comes complete with footswitch and cover. I'd like 800 pounds for the head and 500 for the cabinet (a total of 1300; less than a new head on it's own would set you back). However, if you have an offer then please get in touch (no silly buggers now....). Particularly if you were willing to take both together, I'm sure we could some sort of favourable deal that way. I'd be interested in a part exchange involving an Orange/ Boogie/ Matamp or other quality 16 ohm 2x12 cabinet w/ Celestion Vintage 30 speakers; again, if you have something you think may be of interest then get in touch.
