madjuredam!!! I remember that being the greatest thing ever when I was a kid. The mini football stadium blew my mind. What happened to miniature villages? you don't see them much these days. Rotterdam is such a cool city. It's a little rougher around the edges than amsterdam - at least on the outskirts - but in a good way. The center is all brand new because it was destroyed in the war. Some cool architecture (cube houses!) and much better bars/coffee shops. The locals are friendlier too. Delft is another awesome NL spot - pokey wee student town that looks like a vermeer painting everywhere you go.

Watched The Train To Busan last night. Didn't know anything about it but looked it up after - apparently it was the biggest grossing Korean movie last year. Just picked it on a whim on netflix. Highly recommend it - it has a nice level of cheese where it would be a total dud in English but because it's Korean it gets away with it. Some really well shot action scenes and quite a sweet little story in there too. Best zombie film i've seen in a good while. Also watched Hacksaw Ridge this weekend. Thought it was excellent and Teresa Palmer is a total babe. Not one I'm likely to watch again - not quite at the level of my favorite war movies (full metal jacket, Deerhunter, Platoon, etc) but almost there to be honest.

TP V OJ is ace. Highly recommend the ESPN documentary series that came out shortly after. You get so much more out of it having watched the series. It touches on a lot of the greater society stuff (racist cops, riots, etc) and a fair amount of the sport hero aspect that the drama kind of takes as read.

If it weren't for my reading this, I'm pretty sure I'd have forgotten forever that I watched this. Such an unremarkable movie.

The Simpsons. Started from season 20. Figured i'd pretty much seen every episode give or take up to then. I'd say it's pretty strong at this point. A little bit more esoteric than the early seasons but still lots of clever lines and fairly strong episode plots. I started watching The League but couldn't make it past episode 6. It was pretty funny up until that point but this episode was so crass and (for want of a better word, because I wasn't really offended, more shocked these decent actors/writers would consider it comedy) offensive. The plot basically revolves around 5 guys taking the piss out of a woman for a whole 20-30 minutes. Seemingly for no other reason than her name is kinda funny. There's no other joke in there. You're meant to laugh at 5 guys bullying a girl behind her back and sometimes to her face. Would be interested if anyone else has seen it and there's some inside joke I missed or whether it really was a lame as I thought it was.

I'd agree with that assessment. Write some real lyrics, cut the rap part, fix the guitar tone... actually, just re-do the whole thing. At least his voice is good in the few bits he's singing normally.

Holy fuck, the dance remix of 'You're married, i'm discreet' is gold. It's not a remix, he's just sung it again somewhat in time with a different beat. His stuff sounds like songs 'zany' people sing to themselves doing menial tasks. 'I'm doing the dishes... getting them clean' kinda thing.
