One the solo train Chris runs labels Odori and previously, Primitive, as well as setting up his own second-hand record store - Duckbeats Records. 6. The Dirty Hearts Club @ Snafu with Luv Anna, Jyrojets and Kashmir Red Thursday 26th June // 9PM-2AM // 3/2 LUV ANNA "...The pick of the new bands on the smaller stages at Connect festival...their salty sea-shanties have more in common with The Coral. Definitely ones to watch..." - NME "...The music is fantastically off-the-wall, a loose approximation of The Coral colliding with the Pogues in its careening folk-rock energy..." - The Scotsman "Luv Anna are the opposite to the neon-clad scenesters making music to be forgotten as soon as it's aired. A band to truly look out for...." - Clash Magazine JYROJETS are one of the most heavily tipped bands around. The Sun named them as one of the seven hottest up- and- coming bands of 2007, and ran a full-page story about their US tour. X FM called their debut singled Favourite Thing About Jane / I Dont Think You Hurt a Britpop Anthem, Jonathan Ross and Stephen Merchant are fans and the single was featured as a Hottest download in The Sunday Times. As well as numerous gigs around the UK and a tour of the US, the band have played the Belladrum Festival, supported Dirty Pretty Things, The Kaiser Chiefs and The Ordinary Boys, played festivals in Spain and Moscow with live radio and TV broadcasts across Russia. Their music has been described as a heavy kick of Nirvana with Simon & Garfunkel harmonies, Beatles melodies and plenty of attitude, which pretty much sums up their diverse influences. Originating from the North East of Scotland Kashmir Red are a RocknRoll band who have genuine meaning behind their music. Having only been on the go for 9 months the Aberdeen 4 piece have created a massive following that has seen the band gig extensively around Scotland. A six-strong bunch of glaswegians capable of making an absolute racket like Kasabian being raped by a synthesizer. Sideways. Adored by Xfm's Jim Gellatly, this is electro-punk that you can monkey-dance to, and it's prudent to pay a visit to a friend whose name is prefixed by the word 'chemical' before they take to the stage. A word to the wise.' - NME "...phsyched up acid techno tinged rock that sounds shit but honestly they are amazing..." - The Filthy Dukes "'Serotonin' is a triumphant amalgamation of solid indie-rock and rapturous electro dance, which simply equates perfection..." -contactmusic.com Plus DHC DJs (Steven Milne - Little Kicks) 3/2/Look out for free passes on Belmont St KOBAI DIRTY HEARTS CLUB

  18. THE DEEP END PRESENTS TOM MIDDLETON WITH FUNKY TRANSPORT @ SNAFU // SATURDAY 31ST MAY // 10PM-3AM / TBC Tom is a classically trained cellist and pianist, who grew up on a diet of breakdancing, surfing and skating, 80s electro, synth pop, hip hop, ska, goth, rock, jazzfunk, soul and boogie, early Chicago acid house, Detroit techno, New York house and garage. This might explain his eclectic tastes. Following a chance meeting with Richard James (Aphex Twin), Tom went on to learn the science of sampling and synth programming, which lead to the pair producing the "Analogue Bubblebath" EP. The success of this release lead to the creation of Tom's most famous of pseudonyms with Mark Pritchard - Jedi Knights - together their album "New School Science" inspired everyone from The Prodigy & The Chemical Brothers to Daft Punk & the Freestylers. Since this landmark release, Tom has released material as Amba, The Mod Wheel and Cosmos; held a much-coveted residency at Manumission; produced landmark Essential Mixes and, of course, established himself as one of the worlds most exciting compilation artists via diverse series such as Crazy Covers, The Trip and now legendary Sounds Of The Cosmos and global DJ slots. 19. THE DEEP END PRESENTS JAMES CURD (GREENSKEEPERS) WITH FUNKY TRANSPORT @ SNAFU // SATURDAY 24TH MAY // 10PM-3AM / TBC James Curd began spinning loft parties and raves at only 15 years old. By the age of 19 he had built a solid foundation for himself in the Chicago club scene as well as the scenes from many of major cities around Chicago. At 20, though still not legally admissible to the clubs he was spinning at, James found himself guest Dj-ing at most of Chi-Town's dominant dance clubs while holding down residencies along side Chicago greats, Gene Farris and Diz. At about this time, James' love of music pulled him into the world of music production. He wasted no time and had his first record deal with the French recording label BNO within his first year. On reuniting with old skateboard friend Nick Mauer, the pair joined forces and Greenskeepers was born. Today, James can be found running three record labels (Greenkeepers Music, Igloo Music and G-Swing), DJ-ing globally, and kicking it in Greenskeepers. JAMES CURD FUNKY TRANSPORT

MIXTAPE PRESENTS EDIT:SELECT WITH PERCY X AND ANDREW WEATHERALL @ SNAFU // FRIDAY 16TH MAY / 10PM-3AM / 10 ADV This is set to be the first in a series of Edit-Select parties hosted by digital funkmaster Percy X. His new label continues his devotion to stripped back electronica with minimal sounds of Detroit influence - currently doing serious damage to the record bags of Villalobos, Hawtin and Luciano. Tonight a certain Mr Weatherall joins the party to add his own selective edit to the mix, much to the delight of many a techno connoisseur we imagine. Advance tickets available HERE EDIT:SELECT
