  1. DHC PRESENTS HAZEY JANES (LATE NIGHT SHOW) @ SNAFU // THURSDAY 15TH MAY // 9PM-2AM / 3/2 2004 saw Dundees Hazey Janes begin to make an impact in their hometown, their self-titled debut six-track release and farewell to tenement blues, soon spreading across Scotland. Later they recoded their first full-length LP Hotel Radio with Josh Rouse and Golden Smog Spanish producer Paco Loco. The new recording took the bands style in a new direction with warm harmonies and the fusing of the grand traditions of Scottish guitar-pop, Alt. Country and twee, that dips into Nuggets garage and Elephant Six-psych Advance tickets available HERE DIRTY HEARTS CLUB HAZEY JANES
  2. DIRTY HEARTS CLUB WITH SOFT TOY EMERGENECY WITH THE ACUTE @ SNAFU // THURSDSAY 8TH MAY // 9PM-2AM / 3/2 Soft Toy Emergency, were a a funk-rock band once upon a time, now with the addition of a laptop and some swish ideas theyre NYPC-supporting purveyors of fitful electro-pop, producing a mighty good anti-zuton, CasionniMac racket. The Liverpool based bunch are not overly slick, annoy-rave chancers; but something a little weirder. The guitars crunch rather than funk, the beats are choppy, the vocals are those cool singy-talky ones. And they make the sort of music that makes your knees go all herky-jerky. Advance tickets available HERE DIRTY HEARTS CLUB SOFT TOY EMERGENCY THE ACUTE

  6. DHC PRESENTS ENVY AND OTHER SINS (EARLY SHOW FOLLOWED BY DHC DJS) @ SNAFU // THURSDAY 24TH APRIL // 7.30PM-2AM / 5 ADV Envy And Other Sins like to make their audience feel part of something a little bit different, and in true eccentric-cum-Pythonic fashion they do just that, prancing about in full Victorian dress (as their fictional personas no less) on a stage strewn with random props and fairy lights. Why? Who cares? It looks great not to mention refreshing - and brings alive the Musian riffs and knee-jerk keys of their flamboyant and upbeat prog pop in an energetic swirl. Proof not all sins are bad after all. Advance tickets available HERE DIRTY HEARTS CLUB ENVY AND OTHER SINS
  7. This Thursday DHC PRESENTS NIGHTMOVES @ SNAFU // THURSDAY 17TH APRIL // 9PM-2AM / 3/2 The story of Nightmoves involves two like-minded, haphazard youngsters, both resident djs at the apotheosis of the Nottingham scene Liars Club. The club providing the backdrop, music, and party ethos which inspired Pete & Matt to take their strange, esoteric sounds alongside their proclivity for nocturnal affairs, and form an outfit that revel in the aspirations of the Night. As the infamy of Liars Club spread, achieving an almost international cult status, the two residents decided to start producing their own music. Their first opportunity arose after Disco Simon, a regular drunkard at their clubnight, formed a band whom Nightmoves would later remix it transpired that this band was in fact The Klaxons. Gravitys Rainbow was remixed into a surefire peaktime offering by the duo, which had the likes of Erol Alkan endorsing. Kitsune would later licence & release Gravitys Rainbow and gleefully include Nightmoves mix. Subsequent remix offers would pour in, with offers for management from Digitalisms management amongst others. To date, Nightmoves have rejigged the likes of The Infadels (Wall of Sound), Shitdisco, Freeform Five, Punks Jump Up, Van She and Robbie Williams with more in the pipeline. Support has come from djs as diverse as Erol Alkan, In Flagranti, The Glimmers, Vicarious Bliss, Kavinsky, Paul Epworth, Filthy Dukes, Simian Mobile Disco, Spencer Parker, MSTRKRFT, Freeform Five, Mark Moore, Tim Sweeney, Lottie, JoJo De Freq, the list goes on. Due to lack of time Pete has had to leave Nightmoves in the capable hands of Matt who has been done all of the remixes from Atlantis 2 Interzone onwards on his own. He is currently in the studio working on original material. Matt has also found the time to disseminate their mad sounds throughout the UK, of late: Fabric, The End, The Lock Tavern, Our Disco at Plastic People, Tramp, Death Disco, Cabaret Voltaire, Bugged Out! As well as playing internationally across cities including Gothenburg, Berlin, Porto, Slovenia, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He has also recently toured with Simian Mobile Disco as their Support DJ. Advance tickets available HERE DIRTY HEARTS CLUB NIGHTMOVES

  13. DIRTY HEARTS CLUB WITH JAMES APOLLO AND SUPPORT FROM FAVOURS FOR SAILORS - SNAFU - THURSDSAY 3RD APRIL / 9PM-2AM / 3/2 A Tumbleweed. A hapless dreamer. A savage purveyor of roots-rock-n-roll revelery. James Apollo is the drifting soul that has been swindling the stout hearted compendium of urban hipsters and farmer's daughters for years. Born in Libertyville, Arkansas, the Apollo household soon transferred hometown to the Great Northland, Minnesota, Minneapolis, a burgeoning threshold of musical eccentricity that has launched some of the nations finest musical artists. Lighting out for the road at legal driving age, James refused the ties of the respectable citizen. Move in, rock out, move on. The experiences have lent all the knowledge of an aging hobo, with all the grace of a slow dance with Fred and Ginger. It's this jumbled road debauchery that lights up in Apollo's songs, the broke down tales of life among those whose life is none of your business, whispering just enough of what you don't know, to remind you of what you do. A rootsy concoction of sweet pop and lonesome highway blues that anyone with a bruised soul can identify with. Advance tickets availableHERE DIRTY HEARTS CLUB JAMES APOLLO

  16. RE: Dirty Hearts Club Cancelled Last Night Snafu would like to extend our apologies to those who were at the Felix Kubin last night. A burst pipe in Five Cafe Bar resulted in the dancefloor in Snafu flooding to the point where we had to close it off. We spent the next while trying to sort out plumbers before the decision was made to close Snafu. Refunds will be provided to those with ticket stubs and the Dirty Hearts Club will also be free entry all night next week. ***We would also like to point out that the sold-out Vitalic gig tonight is NOT cancelled and will go ahead as planned.***
