Despite it being his first ever gig, he won and went on to win the Scottish final and found himself doing his third ever gig to over 1000 people in Londons Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly Circus. He came runner up. Keir went on to have a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2004 with a show called Rehabs for Quitters where he teamed up with comedy partner Paul Pirie. The following year he was part of the sell out show Scotland 4 Australia 1 in the Glasgow Comedy Festival which went on to have a further very successful run in the Edinburgh Fringe 2005. He and Paul Pirie also hosted their own late night comedy show. Keir has gigged all over Scotland and the UK and can be seen regularly working for people like The Stand, HaHa Comedy and The Last Laugh Comedy Clubs. He has also had a string of successful festival shows with other comedians. He first teamed up with Paul Pirie in the 2006 Glasgow Comedy Festival called Dare you Seesaw as well as featuring in another collaboration (featuring Susan Calman and Ro Campbell among others) Four Men and a Little Lady. In 2007 he teamed up with another comedian Derek Johnston for the Fringe show The Sunshine Variety Couch which attracted rave reviews. He went on to perform again with Derek in this years Glasgow Comedy Festival with a show called Keir and Dereks Trouser Cough. Keir has seen his first play Falling for Grace preview at the Dundee Rep Theatre to critical success and then go on to do a full Fringe Run in 2006. His second play Death of a Critic premiered at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2008 at the Ramshorne Theatre and is going on to tour later in the year. Keir came runner up in Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 competition. He has also been a regular guest on Karen Dunbars Summer Supplement on Radio Scotland and has written for a number of radio sketch shows. He was involved in the writing of two Fringe shows in 2008 and is currently involved in a number of performing and writing projects. a gifted comedian destined for much bigger things Edinburgh Evening News the excellent Keir McAllister shines with his fast paced intelligent set Noise Magazine McAllisters rapier wit is a joy to behold Threeweeks ...mighty stage presence and impressively high punchline ratio...The Scotsman ----- Marcus RyanHailing from Wonthaggi - a small town without a single traffic light - Marcus tells tales of his experiences from nearly 30 countries, charming his audiences with one liners, accents and characters, travel stories and observations - as a stand alone act and MC. Finishing runner-up from nearly 800 acts in a nationwide competition (Raw Comedy 2003) in Australia earned Marcus an invitation to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In the same year he reached the final of (Green Faces) another national competition, which he couldnt attend due to Edinburgh. This kicked off his international career and a love for touring. He has performed 5 Edinburgh shows in 4 years, one of which was a comedy theatre show he co-wrote and produced. Gigging comprehensively around the UK, Marcus returned home to Australia after being selected for The Melbourne Comedy Festival's Comedy Zone (2004) a showcase of the countrys best new talent. In this intimate venue, every seat is a front row seat. Great observational comedy, personal stories and audience interaction equals a great night out at this free fringe event. We were treated to unpretentious, informal, belly-laughs-a-minute stand-up where the comedians really got a chance to know the audience, and we got a chance to know them as well. The charismatic and very funny Dan Willis charmed us, delivering a mercilessly high tempo set through warm and genuine audience interaction, whilst Aussie stand-up act Marcus Ryan amused us with hilarious anecdotes from his travels around the world. As Ryan calls it, the free fringe is a place where the comedians get to let their hair down and get the dirty jokes out of their system. Go! 11. SNAFU COMEDY CLUB:: PATRICK ROLINK, QUENTIN REYNOLDS, JASON MURPHY, STUART MITCHELL & SCOTT FORBES // TUESDAY 5TH JANUARY // SNAFU Happy New Year! Snafu comedy club is back with a bang, and sure to have you laughing in the face of the January blues in no time! We are also offering you lovely comedy types 2 for 1 on selected main courses in The Athenaeum on Tuesday night between 5pm and 7.30pm, just quote comedy when your being seated. (They'll know what you're talking about!) This week, kicks the year off with Patrick Rolink, Quentin Reynolds, Jason Murphy, Stuart Mitchell and MC for the night - Scott Forbes. ----- Patrick Rolink started gigging in 2002, and has played virtually every comedy club in Scotland as well as many in England, including The Comedy Store Leicester Square, Jongleurs Battersea, The Buzz Club, The Cellar Bar in Dublin as well as clubs in Newcastle ,Manchester, and Torquay. The year 2003 seen Patrick reach the national finals of the Channel 4 competition "So you think you're funny" at the Edinburgh Festival, and a whole series of gig at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe. Patrick also performed at various "Late & Live " venues during the festival. 2004 saw Patrick become a Jongleurs regular with regular spots in Glasgow and Edinburgh ,in April of this year Patrick enjoyed the ultimate experience of appearing on stage on Broadway in New York, in a the highly acclaimed "Matt McGinn Tribute Concert. 2005 seen Patrick promote and compere a very successful show at the Leicester Comedy Festival, as well as performing in a variety of places from The Hebrides Island, Torquay and Melton Mowbray, again demonstrating the universal appeal of his humour. The Big Smoke of London was again a calling point for Patrick with gigs at Jongleurs in Camden and Battersea, proving he has Capital Appeal. Patrick has also hosted and presented a nightly TV chat show on regional TV station, Thistle TV, where he interviewed personalities from sport, politics and comedy. He also has a regular sell out gig in his hometown "An Evening With Patrick Rolink and Friends", and also organised the yearly Lanarkshire Comedy Festival, which has brought top comedy acts to many towns in the Lanarkshire area. In addition to his comedy work, Patrick regularly comperes events, most notably the DVD "Lord Of The Wing" a film about football legend Jimmy Johnstone, which has so far sold in excess of 60,000 copies. He has twice compered the biggest St Patrick's Day festival in Scotland, and also participated in "The Stand-Up 150" in 2003, in which he and other comedians entered the Guinness Book of Records. Patrick also appeared in, and won an edition of the BBC quiz, "The Weakest Link" Patrick has also worked on stage at the Scottish Royal Academy of Drama & Music, demonstrating that his brand of humour crosses all barriers, and is an excellent after dinner speaker, much in demand simply because he can deliver a setto please and delight any audience. With diversity that knows no bound Patrick also reached number 17 in the UK charts in 2002 as a backing singer on the single "Best Day Of Our Lives". ----- Quentin Reynolds has been writing comedy since 1998, with a host of TV and radio credits to his name. In 2003, the performing bug bit deep, and he ventured into the world of stand-up comedy. He has not stopped gigging since, and in a relatively short space of time has performed at many venues throughout the UK with much success. He has so far taken part in two Guinness Book of Records attempts, namely the Stand-Up 150 for the most comedians on stage ever in 2003, and One Big Laugh for the longest comedy gig ever in 2005. He has also appeared as a guest in numerous shows at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. 2004 saw him make two TV appearances on local TV station Lanarkshire TV. Quentin described these appearances, which were witnessed by 6 viewers in the whole of the UK (and who were probably outnumbered by the TV station staff) as "The absolute pinnacle of my comedy career, if not my life!" 2005 saw him appear in the Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year Competition. He also was part of the successful Leicester Comedy Festival "In Ur Face Comedy" show featuring Scottish comedy legends Kirsty Moss, Patrick Rollink, and Perrier Award nominee Parrot. From Thurso to Torquay. Quentin's youthful energy, likeable stage persona, and excellent material has won him many fans and excellent reviews. When he's not performing he likes nothing more than working on other writing commitments or causing trouble with letters to newspapers under false names! However, it must be said that Quentin prides himself on original and clean material which any audience can warm to. 15. SNAFU COMEDY CLUB SnafuComedy on MySpace Comedy - Comic Clips, Funny Videos & Jokes Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III Carly Baker Barry McDonald Billy Kirkwood (MC) Tuesday 8th December - Snafu This week sees the return of the unruly Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, alongside Carly Baker, Barry McDonald and Billy Kirkwood. It's definitely worth a shout catching these guys! Winner of the 2003 Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act and a star of BBC2's Live Floor Show, The Reverend is not your average holy man. With his heavy metal music, black leather, sunglasses and love of hot tub bible classes, he cuts a pretty intimidating figure. A true two-fisted Tennessee trailer-trash TV evangelist, he makes the sinners swing from the rafters. Having managed to offend virtually every religious group and been barred from most places of worship, The Reverend has taken to spreading the word of the Lord on the BBC, as well as around comedy clubs all over the UK. He was a regular on both series of BBC Scotland's Live Floor Show, for which he was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA best newcomer award. His 2003 Edinburgh Fringe show with Frankie Boyle provoked massive, diverse reactions and was simultaneously hailed as the most exciting and original as well as the most offensive and dangerous show on the fringe. This show led to The Rev and Frankie being commissioned to write on the Channel 4 Jimmy Carr vehicle, 'Distraction' and its' subsequent re-commission. 2006 saw The Reverend writing for Channel 4's '8 Out Of 10 Cats' and Channel 4 Radio as well as for BBC TWO's 'Mock The Week'. He stole the show at the Reading Festival, his festival debut, and his Edinburgh Festival Show, 'What Would Charlie Sheen Do?' received 5 star reviews. 'The man is a tornado, a fount of pitch-perfect jokes coupled with quite masterful timing and material that flouts the very laws of censure.........Utterly challenging and well-crafted, it is, of course, howlingly funny.' The Metro 'Laugh? I almost **** myself. Rarely at the festival do you get a) amazing Scottish comedy and b) comedians who can send you into a fit of absolute hysteria for hours - Class. The two comedians from BBC's 'Live Floor Show' appeared laid-back and blas, yet have killer lines and must rank among the best Scottish performers at the festivals. An absolute must-see.' KEEP IT DISCO - SNAFU'S NEW YEAR PARTY 2009 - FEATURING ALAN BRAXE (DAFT CREW / VULTURE / ROULE), JOJO DE FREQ (BUGGED OUT), DJAMBA (HUSH HUSH /EES) & CHEYNIE (DIGITAL DISCO) THURSDAY 31ST DECEMBER 2009 // SNAFU & THE ATHENAEUM // DOORS 10PM - 3AM As the doors close on 2009 and another great year of music and guests at Snafu, we're bringing out the big guns, and celebrating New Year's Eve in proper NYC - Studio 54 style... The legendary and era defining ALAN BRAXE (Daft Crew / Vulture / Roule) of Stardust fame (Music Sounds Better With You), headlines our party, alongside Bugged Out's JOJO DE FREQ, Hush Hush / EES / Subcity regular DJAMBA, and Cheynie's Digital Disco. With more acts to be added to the line-up, things are set to go off at Snafu this year. Jojo De Freq and DJAMBA bring in the new year in The Athenaeum before heading on down to Snafu to continue the party, while Cheynie warms up the Snafu crowd, in anticipation of Alan Braxe's bell ringing treats. Tickets are priced at a tasty 16 advance, and are available now Here, One-Up (Belmont St. Aberdeen) and The Athenaeum. ALAN BRAXE Alan Braxe started producing in 1997 and made his first "Vertigo track on Thomas Bangalters (Daft Punk) emblematic Roul label. The following year, one of the greatest hits in electronic music was born: "Music Sound Better With You. This came about thanks to Alans collaboration with Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond, under the Stardust name. This experience led to the creation of his own label - Vulture - in 2000, allowing him to produce his own sound and to multiply the number of artists with whom he could collaborate. The first release for Vulture "Intro once again proved to be a hit, becoming another classic on the dance floors. For almost ten years, Alan Braxe consecrated himself as an artisan with a passion, exercising three professions: composer, producer and remixer. Since 1998, he has remixed artists of different styles and reputations. As a solo artist, Alan has remixed the likes of Bjrk, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue. In collaboration with Fred Falke, he's remixed Goldfrapp, Kelis, Jamiroquai and Justice. All of these productions appeared on Majors such as Parlophone, Virgin, Mute, Pias, Zomba They also appeared on labels which are a must on the independent scene: Roul, Vulture, Modular, Deffected, Domino, Edbanger and Kitsune His label Vulture enabled him to experiment in new paths as he did with Rubicon (co-written with Fred Falke), In Love With You (The Paradise) and Addicted which was released on Kitsun Maison 5 compilation in 2008. Vulture also enables him to produce artists, notably Lifelike and Kris Menace: Discopolis, whose video was made by Seb Janiak (filmmaker for Janet Jackson, Daft Punk, Robbie Williams). Today, Alan Braxe still works on the International scene and is concentrating increasingly on production work for other artists and his soon coming album. LISTEN TO ALAN HERE JOJO DE FREQ JoJo De Freq can truly be called a one off. The resident DJ for legendary parties like Bugged Out and Nag Nag Nag is as unique and talented behind the decks as she is in the studio. After six years at the forefront of the noisy Electro-Techno scene in the UK, her maverick approach to DJing and self taught production skills have earned her the respect of forward thinking people. Running a download-only-label called Mythic, JoJo tries to be as prolific as a physical label could never be and stretches the muscles of big riffs and melodies. JoJo won't leave you unable to hum a tune or repeat a vocal hook in your head. This girl is the acid-tinged future. Listen to Jojo HERE DJAMBA DJAMBA is on hand to bless your ears and get the party going with his cross section tour through house, baltimore, dubstep, electro and more. The Subcity radio regular is pretty well booked up with DJing slots, warming up for some mighty fine bookings including Steve Aoki, DJ Mehdi and Shadow Dancer, has previously supported the likes of Duke Dumont, DJ Zinc, Foamo and Jackbeats, and holds down his residencies and bookings across other venues around Scotland. Expect big, big things from DJAMBA. Check out DJAMBA's latest mix here. CHEYNIE Paramount and Deveron Fm resident Cheynie, lives for disco, electro and techno. He'll be warming up the crowd with his Digital Disco this New Years. CLUB SNAFU

SLEAZE RECORDS PARTY PRESENTS TROY PIERCE (M-NUS) WITH SUPPORT FROM HANS BOUFFMYHRE (SLEAZE / VIVA MUSIC) & JON VIRTUE (SLEAZE / PERC TRAX) // FRIDAY 2nd OCTOBER// SNAFU After being raised in the cornfields of Indiana and brought up on Midwest house & techno (Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Derrick Carter, D-Wynn), Troy became a bit jaded by ten years in New York where the struggling minimal techno scene consisted of a handful of die-hard fanatics going against the diva-tribal-teck-house of a city that has seen its day musically. Berlin seemed like the logical solution - go to the source. There he carved a name for himself in one of the most musically diverse cities in the world. His collaborations with Magda and other techno veterans gave him a foothold in an incredibly competitive and talented pool of DJs and helped him nurture and develop his skills. Troy is one of the most in-demand techno DJs around and Snafu is proud to have him grace our decks in what will no doubt be one of THE sets of 2009.
