  2. The point is that Snafu is not for everyone - it wasn't designed with the masses in mind. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to venture anywhere near the club, or for that matter, read any literature regarding Snafu. Ofcourse you are entitled to your own opinions, and well done you've got some! But there's such a thing as diplomacy and constructive criticism, which we are always open to - there's no need to be a dick about it...
  3. Snafu will be closing for refurbishment from Monday 8th September to Tuesday 16th September (inclusive). We will be re-opening on Wednesday 17th September with a brand new look and Wednesday night music special... Watch this space.
  4. Jesse Rose - Ticket Refunds Due to problems with flights leaving Brussels for the UK on Friday 1st August Jesse Rose was unable to play Snafu. We really did try our best to get him here, but to no avail. We are in the process of re-scheduling the date, so watch this space. In the meantime, tickets bought online via Ticketweb will be refunded directly in the next couple of days, tickets from One-Up can be refunded as of now.

A six-strong bunch of glaswegians capable of making an absolute racket like Kasabian being raped by a synthesizer. Sideways. Adored by Xfm's Jim Gellatly, this is electro-punk that you can monkey-dance to, and it's prudent to pay a visit to a friend whose name is prefixed by the word 'chemical' before they take to the stage. A word to the wise.' - NME JUNO JUNO "Its official Clyde 1 have finally found the happiest band on the planet! Forget the typical stony faced, aloof chill normally associated with a band, these guys and featured gal Manda Rin are joy & warmth personified. Juno have the potential to be the soundtrack to the next club generation, bring it on!" Clyde 1 Radio JUSTIN MARTIN JUSTIN MARTIN .." around 50 music fans flocked to the underground tunnels to cheer on the Red Stripe Music Award hopefuls. 20. MIXTAPE PRESENTS JAPANESE POSTARS // FRIDAY 29TH AUGUST // SNAFU Japanese Popstars are not as their name suggests. They are in fact three blokes from Northern Ireland who are making the kind of big-room electro that makes Erol Alkan throw off his headphones and start pointing at the CDJ when playing it. Fresh from supporting Klaxons and Hadouken!, their latest EP, including the laser gun-sampling "Delboy's Revenge" left the Miami WMC as wet and traumatised as a post-tsunami Phuket. The lads, signed to Gung-Ho, are now booked in for Glastonbury, Wireless, Oxegen and NOW Snafu, Aberdeen. Pop down and say "Konichiwa". Theyre gonna be riding high in the charts before long... Cut from the same cloth as Orbital and Underworld, theirs is a sky-skimming stadium-sized version: the kind of tracks built to make an entire field of ravers jump in unison. Theyre something special... - DJ MAG. "I'm knocked out! That is a BIG BIG record! 23. :: KOPPARBERG COLLECTIVE PRESENTS THE ADS / THE MOTH & THE MIRROR / THE LITTLE KICKS / MARTIN JAY / SNAFU / WEDNESDAY 25TH JUNE / 8PM-2AM / FREE WITH KOPPARBERG CARD / 3 WITHOUT :: DOORS 20:00 THE LITTLE KICKS 21:00-21:30 THE MOTH & THE MIRROR 21:45-22:15 THE ADS 22:30-23:00 For this June, July and August only - Kopparberg (Premium Swedish Cider) brings you the Kopparberg Collective, a series of gigs and clubnights that celebrate and promote the brands quest to highlight uncomplicated music. Kopparberg are giving everyone over the age of 18 free entry to each of the nights by signing up for the Kopparberg Collective Card. All you need to do is sign up at the door at Snafu, and your card will be presented straight away. First night kicks off with this nice little line-up on Wednesday 25th June: THE ADS (single launch - "Say That It's Summer") THE ADS The Ads' explosive live shows are creating an extraordinary buzz around Scotland. The band kicked off 2007 by selling out King Tut's and the management team that steered Snow Patrol and Futureheads to success has since snapped them up. Cracking songs like "Mess" or "Maybe Tonight" sound like this fiesty four-piece have kidnapped The Buzzcocks' kitchen sink dramas and forcibly cojoined them with the raucous laddishness of the Small Faces. Gonnabees? Huge! You'll be chanting along with "Say That It's Summer" in minutes. THE MOTH & THE MIRROR(single launch - "Soft Insides") THE MOTH & THE MIRROR The Moth & The Mirror are a collection of people that have been stolen from other bands including Make Model, Brother Louis Collective, The Reindeer Section and Arab Strap. " A cross between Nick Cave and Bjork", said one newspaperman describing The Moth & The Mirror's particular brand of glock rock. "Soft Insides" was produced by Tony Doogan, also responsible for the production of the likes of Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian and The Reindeer Section to name but a few. THE LITTLE KICKS THE LITTLE KICKS Local heroes - The Little Kicks make a welcome return to the Snafu stage. Having been making waves in Scotland for the last year, plus supporting high profile bands they have that adaptable sound that can be rocked up a notch or doped down nice and slow. Lead singer Steven Milne has a raw honesty in his voice, that belies the strength of the band, but that's why it's so appealing, you can tell The Little Kicks can properly rock out when given the chance on stage. They've supported The Kooks, Mystery Jets, Editors, The Rakes, Dogs, Maximo Park, Editors, The Sunshine Underground, Brakes, Maccabees, Errors, Ed Harcourt, Electric Soft Parade, Morning Runner, The Rumblestrips and Jamie T; have played T in The Park; and in 2005 they won the Lee Sounds Scottish final and a Radio 1 Demo Derby in 2006.
