  1. If every year had a classic album the term 'classic' would become null and void. To be honest I found Deathspell Omega's 'Fas -- Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum' to be positivly the best metal album I've heard in a very long time, possibly the best metal album in that style since Emperor's 'In the Nightside Eclipse'. I also have high hopes for the new TITD album.
  2. You misinterpret me, my comment wasn't a direct accusation towards anyone, I was merely commenting upon the general tone of the thread. It's absurd to complain about how a musical genre is or has become shit; rule of thumb dictates that within any genre there is going to be a large percentage of garbage, whether that is subjectively or universally. Best thing to do is block out the shit and listen to the good
  3. This thread is absurd. The concept that a genre of music is/or has become 'shit' solely because you've only chosen to expose yourself to it at the bare minimum level comes across as a tad redundant to me. There are plenty of great metal releases out there; you just need to dig a bit further...
  4. Rejectmenta - Sservant Smear Campaign/Fort Maddox Brown Split Tape. Smear Campaign - Another Saturday Night, Another Joyless Wank Serfs - Fire Stories Snotnosed - S/T
  5. Was a great night indeed. I could have wished for a slightly larger turn out, but these things happened. Cheers to all who came along. For your next does of Noisy Action Check out Destructo Swarmbots Next Month
  6. Rough stage times are as follows: Asahara: 8:15 - 8:45 Tetsuo: 9:00 - 9:30 Serfs: 9:45 - 10:15 Smear Campaign: 10:30 - 11:00 As everyone very well knows these things have a habit of over-running, so this is only a rough estimate. Smear Campaign was a personal highlight of the Glasgow Implodes festival earlier this year, along with one of the countless other projects Stuart is involved in: Stuckometer Serfs have also played up here before with I Had an Inkling, only caught ten minutes of their set, but from the recordings this is a band that will appeal to a varied amount of music fans and tastes. If anyone witnessed Tetsuo's first performance in Aberdeen last year, they will attest to the fact that this lot make an impact upon their audiences.
  7. One week today! A must see for fans of Magik Markers, Jackie O Motherfucker, Hijokaidan, and other assorted Drone, Noise and Improv acts!
  8. Really enjoyed the Kitchen Cynics, the added strings provided a real sinister edge to some of the songs. Blinding set from Six Organs, who would have thought the woman from Magik Markers could sing so tunefully? I only wish it went on for a bit longer, I was begining to trance out, in a good way then they stopped.
  9. Angels of Light is the name for Gira's solo stuff, but he tends to drag other people into to help out, primarly from the Arkon Family, or at least that's some of them.
  10. Two weeks tommorow folks! Al (Tetsuo) will be bringing a distro of his label - At War With False Noise, and perhaps some other cds and tapes from other labels. I whole heartidly recomend getting hold of some of these releases, all of which I've seen and heard are amazing! get in! AT WAR WITH FALSE NOISE
  11. This was a great gig. Ashtray Navigations proved to be a surprise, in that they were nothing like I had imagined them to sound like. Still great, just more pychadelic than I originaly thought. Opaque were my highlight if I could pick one out. I had a grin transposed onto my face during the entire set. Gave your cd's a listen, really enjoyed both of them, totaly immersive stuff. Made for a nice morning of listening, with that and my Bloodnok Dvd, which I'm going to cherish for a while. Last thing: As Donny said, anyone who was at this gig, or has an interest in more experimental styles of sound, should check out the date on the 30th of August, it's going to be a great mixed night of Free-Folk, Improvised Chaos, and some spatterings of Noise.
  12. Aye, I'm looking forward to playing a set again, and this time knowing what I'm doing... Release wise, I've got a couple of things in the works just now, but I'm extremly picky about the material I want to put to tape. I'll announce any releases I put out on here, so keep yer eyes peeled, expect something by the end of the year, probably with some unique packaging ect.
  13. The Opaque box set looks tremendous, so does the Kylie Minoise cd on the Russian label. Make sure you save some cash for any At War With False Noise cds that Al may bring up with Tetsuo on the 30th. I have an incling you would be into a lot of the releases on there. (cross promotion is the way forward.)
  14. Bumping this again, because I can. Play list prepared for the night, expect anything from Kraut Rock to Power Electronics all the way through to dub and pop.
  15. The eye interviews are generaly fairly interesting, apart from the Emil Beaulieau one, that was just hilarious. I know little about Head of David, so it's nice to find out more...
  16. Good gig, Vom were awsome! Good night. Great show. Repeat.
  17. Fire Brigade and Ambulance will be at the ready for Al and his lot. I'm not quite sure who will need it most however, only time will tell.
