  1. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I think of something that's funny, then I go get a pen and I write it down. Or if the pen's too far away, I have to convince myself that what I thought of ain't funny - Mitch Hedberg
  2. x 2! I know rudimentary guitar but any sort of chord progression I come up with I cannot come up with a vocal melody that is different to the chords! So really, this thread wasn't for me because the basic answer is - I can't write songs.
  3. Ryan Jack and Josh Magennis both scored last night in the Under 21 fixtures. They'll start banging them in for the Dons starting on Saturday. (or maybe that says that scoring at U21 international level is easier than domestic competition and Rigter's record there should be discounted). Anyway, I'm going to trust CB and AK to look beyond Wikipedia and make a decision as to whether this boy will enhance the team Barca, Schmarca. Yawn.

    Pet Hates!

I honestly believe they have a policy of bamboozling the client to the point where you just give up and accept whatever it is that they claim to be the case. My stomach for this kind of confusion and argument is weak. That's probably on my file with them through some sort of code word. My broadband and phone bills couldn't be more confusing, broken down by odd timeframes, giving me special deals here and there and then charging for usage I thought was covered by my plan..... Urgh.
  5. Joycie did affa weel last nicht.....for a toonser. A lot of laughs and a few touching moments too.
  6. Mackie has been at the club for 12 years - I don't really think that statistic is relevant. Also, Cademarteri was good for a few months and then disappeared and O'Connor and Thompson went to their hometown clubs. Dennis Law has retired so we're fucked on that front! It has been a while since we've had a Duncan Shearer or Billy Dodds type player though....in fact not since we had Shearer and Dodds. Vernon could come good yet once fully fit and if he gets the right strike partner and some service from the wide areas. Magennis for all his bluster doesn't look like he could hit a coo's arse with a banjo. I agree we need a decent striker and someone who can cross but I don't think we have a policy prohibiting the signing of a good striker and I don't think we lack imagination compared to other clubs at our financial level.
  7. Foster may have the odd stray pass and bad touch but he is one of our better footballers. I would suggest it is just you - particularly when your opinion contradicts that of Craig Brown and Walter Smith
  8. I heard he is off to Sunderland for 300,000 (that would make more sense than Vernon) Apparently Michael Higdon to Aston Villa will go through tonight.... Thought the Dons were unlucky to be beaten yesterday. It doesn't take a genius to see that we desperately need some attacking guile. At one point yesterday we had 4 centre forwards on the park (Mackie, Vernon, Paton, Magennis) and still didn't look anything like scoring other than Vernon's chance from Mackie's cross. We need a goal scoring creator (i.e. we need to replace Maguire). Talking of Maguire I see he didn't start for Derby on Saturday. Anderson did and came off injured after 35 mins. He's been an injury disaster since he left the Dons.
  9. Vernon to Sunderland for 300,000 is one of the weirdest rumours I've ever heard. Did somebody here start it?
  10. I feel bad because I didn't buy it but I'd still like one...
  11. I remember the Spanish basket ball team did a similar thing a few years ago to outrage in Britain. Must not be a big deal in other countries. It doesn't make them bad people. Decent result for the new Hearts manager tonight. Vindicated Vlad.
  12. My (possibly wayward) understanding is that they are allowed to picket funerals and the likes in America with their offensive banners because the first amendment allows them to do so. Is there not laws against hate speech, offensive messages in a public place and the likes in Britain that would stop them from doing this? On Road Wars recently a guy was made to cover up an offensive bumper sticker when pulled over in Slough.
  13. I guess this River Plate fan was getting worked up over nothing then ‪Reactions of a Pacifist : El "Tano" Pasman.(English translation)‬‏ - YouTube
  14. My girlfriend went, because she's a woman. The report I got was that it was very entertaining and that the ladyboys are so beautiful that I'd be hard pushed to admit I didn't fancy them. "Honestly Dunc, you would have thought they were beautiful" "No I wouldn't" "Honestly, you would" This went on all night because she'd had a few drinks.
  15. I think you'll find that's spelled Fuck The Huns.

    Your current read?

After Grapes of Wrath I fancied something easy going so read Joseph Finder's No Hiding Place. "Corporate Thriller" page turner. The thing I find with most page turners of this nature is that they always have a disappointing ending. I called the twist half way through and rode it out to the end with mild interest. Still, I keep going back to books like this so I must enjoy them in some way. In sticking with my respectable-shite-respectable pattern I'm now reading Richard Dawkin's The Greatest Show on Earth. A recent book of his which explains, in Layman's terms, the evidence for evolution. Not that far in but I really enjoy his style and can tell I'm going to get absorbed into this one.
  17. True Grit (2010) - Classic Western storyline with fantastic actors, well directed with a great script. I love Jeff Bridges 8/10 xXx - Extreme sports enthusiast turned secret agent in sub par Bond rip off. I don't even like Bond films. This stank. Hot bird in it though. 2/10.
  18. William Wallace was shite at fitba though. K Miller is 32 in December. Assuming we're talking about qualification for Brasil I don't think we can rely on him. He might even retire from international football after we win Euro 2012. Away to Serbia, Croatia and Belgium Levein might pull out the tried and tested 5-5-0 formation so it doesn't really matter if we have no good non-fat, non-rapist strikers actually willing to play for their country. As long as we can defend set pieces we'll pick up some 0-0s.
  19. The doctors, writing in the British Journal of Urology International, took a range of measurements from 609 men and found that the average length, extended as far as would be comfortable, was 5.6 inches. I'm not sure what to imagine here.
  20. Must have got my willy from the English side of the family :-(

  22. So that's what all the fuss is about... Quality
  23. I'm with Dave on this. It's no different than if someone went on a rampage and murdered everybody at a mainstream TV station and then it emerged they were a fan of Charlie Brooker and someone claimed 'a degree of consonance of mindset' between the two.
  24. The Russian viewpoint expressed there seems to give credibility to the cunt's ideology. The Pakistani reaction is hardly a surprise.
