i just remembered something from last weekend that was ace. so i was watching these guys, harvey milk, play a set: pretty loud/heavy/slow/etc, right? they played about ten minutes of ^^^ this kind of material, then started playing songs that sounded like a tougher version of weezer, and then they closed with another very heavy/sludgy song... except halfway through it, some orchestral samples started playing, and they covered Gustav Holst (according to reviews of their set, anyway, it could have been anything classical to me!), before going back into their own song. completely bonkers. if you like RAWK music and are looking for something very different, you could do far worse than listen to these guys!

John Dwyer was amazing to watch. As each song began to slow down and come to close, he'd just shout the name of the next song and they'd go straight into it without missing a beat. Shame you'll miss Archers of Loaf as well, because they were just as good Thee Oh Sees on Sunday!

I saw Thee Oh Sees on Sunday at ATP, they were easily one of the best bands of the weekend. Haven't seen a band look like they were having as much fun as they were in a very long time! I am very jealous that you'll get to see them in an outside venue.

i deleted twitter for the exact same reason, i was beginning to really dislike some people that i knew IRL because of the tremendously dull/irritating things they were coming out with. although i think people could easily say the same thing about me! as far as i remember, the best accounts that i followed were @thebig_sam, @meganamram and @robdelaney.

I realise this isn't on Spotify, but I've just discovered these guys. XTC meets Mr Bungle meets god knows what. The video is from 2007 but the song was written in 1984, which I still can't quite believe. Inventive doesn't get anywhere close to covering how good this is.
