  1. I had a 700RB/210 combo for a couple of years, imo the best amps you can get for the money. Great punch and really flexible tone wise. I only sold it to get an Ampeg SVT half stack because something about the Ampeg sound grabbed me, but one of the best sounds I have ever had on stage was the GK head through the Ampeg cab. GK amps are definately worth a look!
  2. Jimmy Page was awesome! Leona Lewis on the other hand......
  3. It's hard rock with a bit of metal in there. Influences include Velvet Revolver, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry. The Stingray was a good bass tbh, and sat well in the mix, I just prefer the slightly "smoother" tones the Jazz offers. I also like the neck on the Jazz more and feel that it works better with my amp than the Stingray. 750 possibly is a tad much, the price is hereby dropped to 700.
  4. Rod Stewart.....let confusion reign supreme!!
  5. Learn where notes are on the fretboard, learn scales, listen to players you like and find out how to implement these scales in the music you play. Once you master that, look to players outside the music genre that you play for inspiration and new ideas.
  6. Private joke time: 1. Rod 2. Me 3. David Real list time (in no real order): Jaco, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Stu Hamm, John Paul Jones, John Entwhistle, Flea, Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, Bootsy, Billy Sheehan, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, James Jamerson, Duff Mckagan (I don't care what you say Rod, he is one of my favourites, so i put him here ), Mark King, Phil Lynott, Stuart Zender, Les Claypool, John Deacon. There we go, list of 20 good bass players.
  7. He doesn't have anything against Ampeg, he is a friend of mine and lightheartedly taking the piss out of my gear is just something he does, he doesn't mean any of it. He should have quoted me or made it a bit clearer that he wasn't being serious though.
  8. Not forgetting the Strawberry Ribena, a true god amongst beverages!
  9. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! And there was me thinking I needed a PS3 to continue playing FF, now for GT5 to come out on 360 too.....can't see that happening though.....
  10. Recently I have bought: Saints of Los Angeles - Motley Crue Really fun album to listen to if you like your music bluesy with a bit of metal and your lyrics cheesier than 10 cheesy things. Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace - The Offspring Competent, easy to listen to pop/punk as you've come to expect from The Offspring, some good songs. Unfortunately (for me at least) they sound a bit like Greenday occasionally. me su eyrum vi spilum endalaust - Sigur Ros Imo, not their strongest work, for me thats ( ). The first half is quite upbeat and poppy, kind of like Hoppipolla from Takk... but even more jolly. The latter half is the slightly melancholy/depressing sounds that I love from ( ). If you like Sigur Ros already then get this album.
  11. I heard that it was getting bought by the tunnels and getting turned into "Tunnels 3", I was also told that Hen would be running it. If thats true then I assume it would be much the same deal as tunnels, which ain't a million miles away from Drummonds.
  12. Dude, that's one mean guitar rig!!
  13. here are pics of the bass if you look at the centre of the last pic you can see a small white scratch, that is the only mark i can find that cant be removed by cleaning.
  14. Its at my drummers house, where we practice, so I will get some pics and post them tomorrow. If you are interested then of course you can try before you buy! I wouldn't expect anyone to spend that sort of money without giving it a play first!
  15. Stripey, if we "pathetic" people want to share images of our equipment then let us. The thread is called "show us your stuff." so it is clearly intended for/is going to have such pictures. Granted it will also likely contain some pictures of interesting and rare items which I assume you were hoping to find (your old tuner comes to mind here) but don't give us a hard time for showing our stuff just because you don't give a shit how many guitars we own. If you want us to post songs that we have written and recorded then open up a thread for it if you haven't already. Personally I like this sort of thread, I enjoy looking at guitars and amps. It also lets me see what other forum members are using, which I find interesting. I'm into guitar and bass gear, I'm a sad man, I know.
  16. Nah, I'm definitely looking to sell it. Surely someone is interested?
  17. Thanks, it really is, like I said, the only reason for sale is that I prefer the sound of the jazz bass and could use the cash, I will likely regret parting with it. Pity no-one seems interested in it. Asking price is now 750. C'mon Guys!!
  18. Yeah, it's annoying, he signed it exactly where my hand touches the bass when I play with a plectrum. Ideally for me he would have signed it on the horn on the other side of the pickups but I didn't really get a chance to specify where he signed it unfortunately. Personally I like it being signed on the front, just he could have picked a spot where I wouldn't rub it off when I play.
  19. McKagan, yeah that's who it is. It's the exact model of bass that he used at first (nowadays he has replicas made by the Fender custom shop). He and his bass tech were most impressed by it, needless to say I was chuffed!
  20. Cuz you're just that much of a show off flash git aren't you James?
  21. I vaguely remember that, I was drunk probably if I was in 'Shulu. You have the SVT-4 Pro and the 610 HLF do you not?
