  1. Not a real job then!! what's this Biz? soundcheck, pa, tickets!!! It's a plug and play for us...real Rock an Roll. No fancy on stage monitors etc with us.....Welcome to the real world!!!! Ska night looks good though;)
  2. Eh! great?? we thought we were so great until you brought it home to us how really shite guru
  3. High horse Hi Biz. I think you hit it on the nail. You guys a punk tribute band, and a quite good one as well, or I would'nt be listening to you waffle on. We on the other hand a pub covers band. I'm sure CCR or Free etc, didn't jump down the throat of every band like Life and Soul, Ginger etc, just becuase they were not note for note correct. (I'm sure they were though) You said you spent money seeing bands....we've all done that, hell I've seen rockstars turn in shite sets on more than one occasion. Glue sniffing is not big and not clever, I preferred mushrooms. As for a support act....I think you got that wrong, we were asking to slot in with you, and I'm sure we could manage a set with no Oasis in it, unless you asked for some. Dull....I don't think so, right time right place...without doubt. Lucky Bar$tards no question. Back to my dull day job for me. NOTE: you don't need to pay to see us Rock on Billy Boy!!!
  4. oh dear I am still hung over from Sat/Sun Fudge awards madness, sorry for being a cunt, I 'll send ye a postcard of apology to The Pitfour in Mintlaw fae Japan or America later in the year, cheers Biz.
  5. Thanks for the support eelpie!! I've heard Biz's band(s) past and present and have always thought they were good bands. Each person is allowed his or her own view. Although his band is not doing a world tour, they are worth seeing...I just keep missing them due to work!!! Everyone is allowed a rant now again, and Biz is no exception, although he does sometimes have more to rant about than most others.
  6. http://www.redcortinas.piczo.com/?cr=1&rfm=y Sorry for the delay....I've been at a practice.
  7. Cheers. I'm sure you won't turn to stone, vomit, loss you sight, or any other horrible thing happen to you.
  8. Aye Biz, alas we do play two Oasis songs, but hey! they're harder to play than some of the punk stuff we do, but that just might be my limited playing skills....I'll not give up my day job just in case. As for the drumming....well what can I say? We don't get to hung up on being perfect, because we would fail, but we do try to have a good time, which we succede in doing, and 95% (at least) folk don't notice the few flat notes, mucked up lead runs or a missing crash or ride cymbal etc. You coming on the 11th?
  9. It would be great if you came along, bring some of the 16again folk as well. How's Dave, I played with him years ago with George Cameron etc. Before his 'Ego has landed!' stint What's the name of your ska band? I'd like to come along to that. I was in Drummand last week and saw Short Notice...pretty good stuff. Badge and 28 as well. Enjoyed it. wah wah......not sure! I use it on a few songs, but an auto wah would be no good as I use it to texture stuff....if you know what I mean
  10. Several new covers will be unleashed on the unsuspecting public at the next gig 11th March at the Pitfour Mintlaw.
  11. Cracking night even though I couldn't stay to see all the bands. To see bands I saw for 2 quid.......bargain!! Short Notice were really good. It was the first time I've seen them, but I would go to see them again without a doubt. The double bass player wearing the shades...classic! Badge. Also a first for me, though I've known Alan for a while now. Good power and the songs were well played. 28. I've seen these guys a few times now. Ryans riffing, to me anyway, is ace. Sorry I had to miss the rest of the night, maybe next time.
  12. You'll be lucky, the Boddamer's got them all
  13. For years I just played in to the amp, but now the band wants a bit more.?(
  14. I think Firebirds look ok. It's good to be different don't you think.
  15. Geesho!! Who are you...The Edge!! Only joking. I've got a few pedals I don't use, nothing fancy. Don't know what I'l do yet though. Check our site and see the pedals I use....see your old wah!! Need to meet up sometime for a blether.
  16. I agree with some of the guys above. In some cases less is more. I've had the same problem in the past. Now I start with low gain settings and push them up until I get the sound I'm looking for (don't always get it, you know how it is;)) If you use other pedals try moving them around in the chain. I have a Moonrock and a Zvex SHO, when I used they together it was terrible. Took either out and it was bliss again.
  17. At the moment..a sore throat. It depends what your looking for. What are you using just now..are you just going straight into your amp?
  18. Takes a bit of getting used to. If you use it for chords it freaks out, it picks a note fades it in then out again..weird.
