  1. OK Mr Cool Thinker. Let me just repeat - any Aberdeen Music person wanted a 100 baggie of free audio leads - just call at the above address or message me if you want thousands!
  2. Hi Mr Cool Thinker Each 2 metre cable is packed in an individual polythene bag. These are loose packed in five large, heavy, cardboard cartons. Come by the shop on Saturday if you want to have a look at them. If there are any Aberdeen Music scallywags hanging around hoping to stalk you - tell 'em " No Autographs! " This could be the start of your career in Electronics!
  3. If you are serious - ring 01224 630526 and ask for Graham - your continued anonymity guaranteed!
  4. FREE AUDIO CABLES A long time ago I bought 20,000 audio patch cables similar to the one shown at the following e-bay link: I still have about 16,000 of them. They are 2 meters in length and have two RCA/ phono plugs at each end. The cables are individually screened. Anyone wanting 100 or even a thousand of these patch leads absolutely free - just call at Knights shop at 108 Rosemount Place and say you are from Aberdeen Music. That should keep you in audio cables for the rest of your life. If Cool Thinker wants to start a business career by selling them on e-bay - he is welcome to collect them all. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-2m-2x-RCA-Male-Audio-Phono-Plugs-to-2-RCA-Male-Audio-Phono-Plugs-1-2m-Length-/140868669852?pt=UK_Computing_Sound_Vision_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item20cc6d519c
  5. Thank you Mr Teabags - you are too kind. And just to make everyone smile dig my hair 35 years ago in the main picture in the paper - at ths link: www.knightsaberdeen.com
  6. UPDATE Have decided that time has caught up with me after years of burning the candle at both ends and often in the middle too. Details at this link: http://www.knightsaberdeen.com
  7. My friend, promoter Patrick Rocher has Chuck Berry (87 years old and still rockin') doing a gig in Moscow. I hope it goes well. When does everyone from Cool thinker to Luicky Rather think THEY should retire? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClgtoM2RwQY
  8. If you can get to me at 108 Rosemount Place before 6pm you can have a 10m, 15m or 20m Ethernet cable for absolutely free. I like helping muisicians - music has been good to me.
  9. I have just come home from a Nefarious C promotion at Cellar 35. The Marionettes, just back from a UK tour to promote their new "Teaparties" recording, topped the bill at the event. Paddy Buchan and the band were in crowd pleasing form as they ripped through a well rehearsed 40 minute set. As always the pile-driving drummer was outstanding. There was plenty of audience participation from the capacity crowd. When Paddy asked if anyone had any questions the guy next to me shout, "Got any reds?" but Paddy did not hear him. He was too busy laughing off another very personal question being asked about whether he "got lucky" on the tour! Paddy also revealed that he was a Singing Kettle fan! Another good party night from the Marionettes - they deserve to be playing bigger places.
  10. Excellent sausages at Pasta Plus in Rosemount Place and a great selection of cheeses. mention I recommended you - I go there for lunch every day. The owner's name is Francesco and the son is Chris.
  11. Tonight I went to see "The Wedding Singer" at Aberdeen Arts Centre. This song and dance musical was amazingly good. It was staged by the amateur dramatic group "Treading The Boards" and was quite a production. with over 30 people on stage playing to a packed and enthusiastic audience. I was surprised to see a full 9 piece band - more musicians at this show than you sometimes see in profession musical productions at the theatre. This song and dance musical is set in the eighties, long before all the cast were born. The music fairly zips alongand the choreography under the direction of Victoria Cowan was well up to professional standard. Aberdeen Music member Robert Knight (no relation - thank goodness!) played a number of parts including a very good "President Reagan". All his years of doing the Timewarp at parties have obviously paid off as Robert was no slouch in the fast paced dance numbers. I recommend members to go see this show if they can get a ticket to the remaining performances on Friday or Saturday/
  12. H ha. I don't know who you are but you are very observant. I did say I was usual at work till at least 6pm.

  15. I am posting this link for the above fans of Alex Chilton and Big Star. Tav Falco, who I mentioned in the obit for Alex, has written a new book that details a lot about his association with Big Star, The Cramps and Sun Records. I am still in touch with Tav and Tav Falco and his Panther Burns show are now based in Switzerland. This will be a good book as Tav has a good memory but sadly many of the people from that era are no longer with us. http://thequietus.com/articles/11172-falco-has-landed-tav-falco-interview
  16. I just looked again at the list I posted on January 1st and see I have a duplicate - what a dummy However I agree with Alkaline - no subs - SO I will be happy if all the 19 remaining die. One down already, 18 to go. Also glad nobody has named me on their list yet!
  17. Fade to black for Michael Winner - get counting Lucky.

  19. I love this story about the guy who outsourced his job to China. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/9806921/Computer-programmer-outsourced-job-to-China.html
  20. This is especially bad for lcoal bands. I remember buying a Cobra Kai CD there long before I met our Lucky - our illustrious moderator.
  21. luckily I had your picture as the instructions were very confusing. I just kept looking at the photograph on your post. It is remarkably strong and I just about caused myself a permanent injury lifting the box that all the bits came in. Once again thanks for pointing me in the direction of this unit - it matches my crazy lifestyle.
  22. Thanks to seeing MilnerD's post and picture on Aberdeen Music - I ordered one of these. It me quite a while to assemble it but it is marvellous - over 6 foot tall. My cat is called Magic and it seems to like sitting at the top. I have put it next to one of my speakers and it puts out lots of bass and the cat seems to sit on top digging the vibes.
  23. I am an avid fan of Cool Thinker's Annoucements. Surely he doesn't know that today is the birthday of Lucky Rathen and Shaki. Otherwise there would be a splash from Mr Cool.
