  1. Congratulations to Shaki, aka Duncan Dallas the drummer, who is getting married tomorrow. As I am entrusted with driving his fiancee Nicola to the ceremony I had better remember not to sleep in. YoungA ring me when you get up - you can be my ultra reliable alarm clock.

  14. They had obviously read Johnny's first wife Vivian's book I Walked The Line. The late Vivian has an interesting take on the meaning of the phrase. Read the book on Google books for more information.
  15. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/sep/26/chas-and-dave-interview Interesting story about Chas playing with Deep Purple for one night only - at Aberdeen's Music Hall. Chas fan Lucky Rathen missed this show!
  16. Chuck Berry is 86 years old. He. has some long hops between shows next month - six shows in 7 days all over - from Moscow to Italy. It is a schedule that would even tire out chick-magnet and international traveller Adam Easy Wishes
  17. I have only posted a small fraction of the numbers generated by the more talkative members. Lucky has posted over 15,000 times and several others are near this number so welcome to Aberdeen Music - you have a bit of catching up to do.

  19. Hello Mr YoungA, As Adam says I have retired. The shop has been sold. The story is here: www.knightsaberdeeen.com I remember fixing your PC. I hope it is still OK. If you need further help just PM me. I am not quite at the stage this tune by Chuck Berry suggests - he is still touring the World at 86. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP8MuVZ-zXU PS I am not sure I like your new "clean" and studious image - remember to have fun and don't delay doing anything - do it now.
  20. Cafe Drummonds had three attractions on the bill on Saturday night: CS Buchan, The Marionettes and The Deportees. There is a world of difference in the three styles but the combination seemed to work well and drew a very large crowd. Having watched CS Buchan's YouTube Videos I half expected a performance against a backprojection of seacapes. This was not to be but the audience still responded well. The Marionettes have a large local following and with lead singer Paddy playing guitar for most of the night - the four guitars and the ever present pile-driving drummer made for a big, big sound. The vocals could have been a bit higher in the mix for me but maybe, at my age, I just need a new hearing aid! I liked the part in The Marionettes show where Paddy laid down the guitar, grabbed some drumsticks and furiously banged away on the cymbals - bands sometimes forget to "Make a Show" - this was good entertainment. It was The Deportees first show in about a year. I like their "I Lost Her To The Sea" as it is one of the best recordings to come out of Aberdeen. The crowd got even bigger when The Deportees went on so they must have quite a fan-base. I was a little worried before The Deportees started that they might be missing a member as I noticed Aberdeen Music's multi-poster "Adam Easy Wishes" was constantly surrounded by young ladies clamouring for his attention. He eventually made it to the stage. It was a good night and there was no admission charge. Well done all and Drummonds.
