  1. Our Friday nights are away to be rebranded with some new residents to boot. Radio Skool will still retain the last Friday of the month slot and we're in discussions with Cagedbaby and the Filthy Dukes over bi-monthly residencies, the latter possibly bringing their "Kill 'Em All, Let God Sort It Out" clubnight to Aberdeen. Other possible guests being lined up include Radioslave, James Lavelle (under his global "Surrender All" fashion and music concept), Evil Nine, Nathan Detroit (Southern Fried) plus other guests we're still in discussions with. This should ensure a tougher but eclectic music policy where you can expect to hear anything from labels such as Ed Banger, Minus and DFA to Southern Fried, Optimo and Bpitch. Saturdays remain our flagship night with The Deep End, featuring resident Funky Transport and various deep house/electro-disco guests. For up-to-date info on guests/nights, check out clubsnafu.com | Welcome and www.myspace.com/snafuaberdeen.
  2. Electrique Boutique Check out Monday nights at Snafu...free entry, drinks from 1 and a forward-thinking music policy. Forthcoming special guests: Modeselektor, Gravenhurst, Underground Heroes, The Steers...
  3. Unfortunately the Rumble Strips have had to pull out of tonight's gig. Instead, Steve Milne will be DJing alongside Electrique Boutique resident, Giles Walker. All house spirits are 1.50 (incl. mixer), Luxardo Sambuca 2, plus other deals. Entry is free. Apologies for any inconvenience and we hope to reschedule the gig.
  4. For free passes, check out Blackfriars and Five beforehand or hunt down one of our PR staff.
  5. Here's a recent interview with the Godfrey brothers: pre-Guilfest Interview - Morcheeba
  6. There will be free passes for tonight (and other DHC nights) available upstairs in Five Cafe/Bar or in Blackfriars.
  7. Asad Rizvi returns to drop beats and mooch around with our resident moocher, Funky Transport. Effortlessly capable of creating anything from lush Brazilian-influenced vocal melodies to spine-chill-ing electronic basslines or Chicago inspired jacking beats to blissed-out down-tempo backing sections, Asad is more than your average producer. He has music and rhythms running through his veins. www.myspace.com/asadrizvi Asad Rizvi plus Funky Transport Saturday 23 June Doors open @ 10pm, 7 / 5 / Members Free / Free B4 11pm *Look out for the free resident/half-price special guest passes that are floating about right now.
  8. Slope are much more than just another electronic group in fact, they are one of the more intriguing production duo's in dance music today. With a sound that is pretty hard to nail down, the duo mashes up styles with a blender and the results is something that's upbeat, chilled, funky, mellow, and groovy all at the same time. It shouldn't work at all because how something can be upbeat and be chilled out at the same time is beyond me, but Slope make it work. Slope plus Funky Transport Saturday 30 June Doors open @ 10pm, Entry TBC *Look out for the free resident/half-price special guest passes that are floating about right now.
  9. This actually sounds like an interesting questionaire so if it doesn't take more than 20 mins or so, I'll do one.
  10. Can't confirm at the moment. We're looking at a couple of dates, just need to decide which works best for everyone. Guaranteed is a date for their forthcoming album release tour, but we 're hoping to get them sooner too. Check out Electrique Boutique for up to date info...
  11. Modeselektor, James Pole, Asad Rizvi, Green Velvet, Cagedbaby, Filthy Dukes (Kill 'Em All, Let God Sort It Out - new Snafu residency), Calvin Harris, David E. Sugar, South Central. Chutes, Little Kicks, Gene Farris, Jafar, Funk D'Void, Murray Richardson, The Garcias, Flaming Katy, V-2 Schneider, Switch, Right Hand Left, James Lavelle, Derrick Carter... :: Open Monday to Saturday :: :: Midweek drink promos from 1 :: clubsnafu.com | Welcome
  12. South Central forthcoming gigs: Magnet Club (Berlin), Arches (Glasgow), Proud Galleries (London), Egg Club (London) and TDK Cross Central. Not bad! They're also playing The Remix @ SEONE alongside Pendulum, Death In Vegas, Paul "Phones" Epworth and Eddie Temple-Morris. Remixes: Maccabees "X-Ray Vision" DJ Mix: Download HERE. FYI: There are free passes aplenty going about for this night, so between me and you, if you have to pay to get in, you need to review your social situation - ask at the bar, ask Steve Milne, ask Gomes, ask anyone who does anything at Snafu - ask the fucking cleaner if needs be!
  13. Doors open: 9pm David E. Sugar: 9.30pm Calvin Harris: 10.30pm After that Martin Jay takes over till 2am. Tickets are now sold out. There are limited tickets available for members. 14. Please note that this is an early show. Doors open at 9pm.
  15. Yes, we're merely holding the pre-party, but from what I hear it was really good last year and we got a great crowd down for it. Here's the flyer again:
