ill agree with mel that its nice to make en effort if youre going onstage - take quik for example - shirts and ties look smart! but i saw them play in jeans and tshirts and enjoyed their set just the same! i know we're not talking about local bands but i can honestly say if justin hawkins had turned up onstage at leeds in a pair of jeans and a tshirt i might have been shocked but i certainly would have enjoyed the show just as much. clothing is such a minor part of what a band can do with their shows, i dunno, maybe its just me. i like to wear nice clothes and look nice, but it doesnt make me any different as a person so why would it make a band better or worse?

no not at all!! i hate arguments, and im not arguing, just discussing, its constructive see! cant a band stimulate visually with good presence and banter rather than just wearing pretty clothes? MMw tend to put on a good show with all their prancing/jumping/mic swinging malarky, is entertaining visually, nothing particularly special about their clothes! (thats not meant to sound as bad as it does)

ive never even heard of that band before. neil didnt know who you meant either. doesnt that kinda prove that image isnt really enough to make a band stand out in someones memory?

surely we can just wear clothes because we feel comfortable in them and like them, not because theyre making some big statement or so we'll be remembered or because "all the cool bands in the states are doing it"??

oh my god this album is amazing!!! i bought it as a result of seeing them at leeds and being thoroughly impressed by their performance it took me a couple of listens to get into but now i cant get enough of it! woooooo

i think it sounds delightful dancing makes me happy, like charlie i shall dance to this fine song and be happy hoorah
